Because Violetta is perm! You don't have to pay extra cash to get it with this collection unless you want to pay extra for the packaging. If you ask me, I don't think it's worth it.
winks.gif

Russian Red is similar to Heartless, but I got Heartless anyhow because I've always wanted a red lipstick in the Amplified formula.
yes.gif
If you love Russian Red though, there is no need to get Heartless. And no hun, Dubonnet is not close to Dark Deed at all. I would say Dubonnet is more brownish, Dark Deed has more plum undertones to it.

Hey! Are you back in Singapore already?
smiles.gif
I hope you got what you wanted!

I think i will pass BOA i have Tippy and i really like that Barbi pink color more then coral or orange base

Re: MAC - Venomous Villains discussion

OMG I typed out my very long review only to have it all disappear because of technical error.
ssad.gif
I'm rushing now, so I'm gonna re-type a shorter review instead.

Here's what I hauled
mac_haul.gif

Oh So Fair BP
Revenge Is Sweet l/g
Heartless l/s
Innocence Beware l/s
Dark Deed l/s
Darkly My Dear blush
Formidable n/l
Mean & Green n/l

Eyeshadows -
They were all meh to me. Dupeable colors. The minearlized ones were pretty but I already have the Style Black MES (which I hardly use).

Lipglosses -
Meh to me too. Revenge Is Sweet was the only standout because of its jelly texture and not so much because of the uniqueness of its color.

Blushes -
BOA is pretty, but I'm not looking for a bright colored blush now so I skipped. Darkly My Dear is so hot and sultry looking; it has so much depth to it! I'm impressed. It's not at all dark colored unless you pile it on. And it doesn't look muddy on the cheeks either. Whoever said it gives a sculpted cheeks appearance was spot on!

BPs -
Briar Rose was lovely but I couldn't justify forking out $46 for it (that's the usual price of a MSF here). Her Own Devices was disappointing because it looked so flat and dull, and on the cheeks it was unremarkable too. I didn't try on Oh So Fair but I want to see if it gives me the "glow-from-within" look that some people have described. On my hand though, it was a pale ashy pink color that somehow disappeared into my skin after a while.

Lipsticks -
The surprise winners of the collection! Toxic Tale and Coral Polyp and SO SIMILAR. I will post pics later tonight. I don't think you need both of them though, unless you totally love such colors. Sinister was disgustingly sheer and streaky; I compared it with Naked Paris and will post pictures later tonight, I'm glad to say I prefer my Naked Paris l/s. Innocence Beware is one of the very few nudes that actually look good on me and not wash me out; maybe it's because it has some pink to it. It is a rather sheer color though, if you want to totally wipe out your natural lip color I don't think this product will do that. Dark Deed is the bomb! I'm so glad I asked to try it on. It wasn't too dark on, in fact, it was just perfect in every sense and it gave me a really hot sultry look (it didn't make me look old like Tribalist l/s from the Style Warriors collection did). Some random lady customer was commenting how good I looked with that lipstick on, and even my MA was surprised that it worked on my skintone. How can I leave without it then?
greengrin.gif
The difference between Dark Deed and Kittenish is that Dark Deed has more plum tones to it whereas Kittenish is more brownish. But they're similar enough. Maybe I can do swatches when I have the time.

Nail lacquers -
Nothing much to say, I'm sure everyone's familiar with the ORLY polishes by now. I didn't manage to get Bad Fairy because it was sold out by about 10:50am. No biggie, I can always get the OPI dupe later on.
winks.gif

Oh and the compact mirror with the guy on it was just freaky. I wouldn't pay $20 for that.
nope.gif

I guess that's all, I hope I didn't miss anything out!

I just mentioned Tribalist in my review. I don't think they are all that similar, but I could be wrong. For one, Dark Deed is really a lot more wearable than Tribalist. Maybe because Tribalist has more brown to it than Dark Deed? Dark Deed is more red-purple-plum.
yes.gif
On lips it looks more reddish. I'll post a pic of me wearing it when I get back tonight.

as everyone has mentioned, Dubbonet and Dark deed are totally different

Dubbonet is a browned red so it looks more red on darker skintones, imo. Dark deed ls will make u look like, well, u did a dark deed..lol.. post feeding vampire lips

I hauled, I hauled!

I've got:
Oh so fair,
Bite of an apple,
Strange Potion,
Revenge is sweet,
Violetta,
Formidable!

I looove everything I've bought.
I was there at opening time and thanks to various reviews and swatches I already knew what I wanted, so after quick swatches on my hand I grabbed a MA and asked for the items.

I asked her if it will be like the Hello Kitty collection, first launched at Tangs and after a period everywhere, she replied yes, but Singaporean ladies you may want to double check sometimes people don't understand my accent, btw if it will be so, I'll check other things, otherwise I'm happy with what I've got!

Oh So Fair help for NW20?

So how else can I use the Oh So Fair beauty powder from Venomous Villains besides as a blush?

I figure it'd be called a blush if it was only meant to be used as such. But cause it's a beauty powder there are other uses that I'm not aware of?

Re: MAC - Venomous Villains discussion

Okay, just coming back from the store. IB and Hue look identical on my hand, will be getting Hue when I back 2 Mac the next time.

I got only items from the Evil Queen, heh! BOA, SP and TT - this may be in fact more wearable for me than Made with love because it leans more pink than orange on me.

I'll definitely get Violetta from Pro. Gorgeous!

The cooling powders - didn't feel anything?! Was disappointed.
ssad.gif

It was quite funny, because I expected a huge crowd, and then it was only me and two girls swatching for their blog at 10 when the store opened!

the compact. Maleficient looks like she is about to lay a pimp hand slap on someone. I really don't care about the color, I just wanted the compact, the color never was a factor for me.

I love it too! She totally looks like she's about to cut a bitch!

Tribalist doesn't have the red/berry Dark Deed has in it. Dark Deed is awesome. I was going to get MUFE #48, but I like Dark Deed more. They are similar and MUFE #48 will be around for a bit.

I wore it with the Cajun Cooling Powder, Strange Potion lipglass and just black liner and mascara. There's a crappy storm here and I was so exhausted, I couldn't be bothered with eyeshadow today.

You're right, its not like NARS in the grand scheme of things. I find i have to build it for it to show up, instead of one swipe and its done. This blush shows up better and has more dimension on darker skins than other corals. Might be the bit of red in it.

I thought I read that EL had some cooling powders so there may be some at the CCO. Also, the sweet MA at MAC told me it would most likely be re-promoted at a later time, so you may want to hold up on finding a dupe. Also, if you go in person, they may still have some at Macys or Nordies. They sold the last one 45 min. before I walked in last night (don't you hate that!)

I am super pale (NC15) and it (BOaA) does NOT look clownish at all on me. I did not have to do super buffing or super light hand either. It is THE perfect coral with a hint of pink. Bravo MAC!

Not at all. Tippy is a bright, hot pink & BOaA is coral leaning pink. They are different enough to justify getting both.

IB really wasn't very pigmented and too me seems more honey-brown colored (I only swatched on skin). It's a pass for me because not pigmented enough! Looked promising in the tube but bored me on the swatch. HTH

I picked OSF because BR really did not have the payoff in terms of pigmentation I thought it should. (Plus I like the evil queen's packaging better.) I think BR is more dupeable. IMHO of course.

Okay, I caved and got a small haul because I just paid a crap load of money to fix my brakes. Stupid car needs repairs right in the middle of 2 frickin awesome collections--what gives! I seriously wanted EVERYTHING except a couple blushes and Cajun powder because I thought they were too dark. But I restrained myself and hauled:

TT because this was too beautiful. Way more pigmented than VGCindi, in case you wondered and pinker and more pigmented than Vegas Volt. It was the stand out for me.

Sinister. I know its getting no love & it was a surprise for me how gorgeous it was in person. It looks doodoo brown in the tube but it swatches really, really pretty. Sort of a mauve with a hint of brown and sheerish but the multipearl shimmer was TDF! I think its the sleeper of the collection. If you want brown, it is not for you. For me, it was Naked Paris but more rainbow pearls, you know? Pink and purple and opalescent pearl shimmers. Love it!

OSF--Just looked so pretty as a BP. I plan to use it all over. It looks scarey pink in the pot, but it goes on almost sheer pink. My skin leans warm (NW15 here) but it was NOT too cool or too pink to use as an all over sheer wash of color to the face. Think Porcelain Pink without the shimmer and shine. Pinker than Flower Mist Dew, but barely.

Her Own Devices--I did not plan to get this and would not have but when I swatched it, it was love. Think Tahitian sand minus the too peachy tone and add a little hint of shimmer. It looks scarey dark in the pot, but swatches as a perfect hint of sun for the pale complexion'ed. I don't think it would work as a blush but as a highlighter or bronzer for the melatonin-challenged, it will be perfect. I know this will be a staple for me this winter to help me look less corpse-like.

BOaA--Could not resist. Its perfect. Doesn't really require a special technique like mega buffing or super light brushing. Went on perfect and looks very natural. Pale beauties, do not fear this. This for me was like Hipness but slightly more pink/red. Perfect coral. This should be made Perm!

French Quarter--I love this. Its a brown black with taupe shimmer. Swatched warm. I was a little disappointed when I put it as my eyeliner this morning because I could not see the glimmers. I may have to play with it a little. How else are folks using FQ? As a base or eyeshadow? That could work better. I do have to say this was softer and did not tug my lids like I was afraid it would.

I did not get Violetta because its perm, but I will eventually. I just didn't have the $$ after paying for new brakes. I wanted BR, but didn't get it, same reason ($$) and I think I can get soemthing to dupe it. I loved the red lippy, but honestly we are going to see plenty of those and I think I want to get a long wearing formula for that. I also loved Wrong Spell, but I am holding off on lipglosses because I have too darn many and need to use what I have. I really liked the coral one (but I think there are plenty of those in the future) and I have plenty of coral l/g and don't wear coral as much in the winter and fall. If I did not already have HotHouse, I would have gotten that one, because it is gorgeous.

Whew, I was lucky I did not spend more with this collection. I would have, but they were sold out of Truth & Light and the Resort Life gelee. Hopefully they will repromote the powder and we have plenty of gelees coming up with collections iirc.
