I'm loving She Who Dares! ( Although I just got it like one hour ago haha).
I did a comparison of SWD with Humid. SWD is a shade darker and more frosty. Frosty is the wrong word, maybe metallic? However, when I swatched Humid wet, it almost looked similar, just not similar enough that I would pass up SWD.

And why are these eyeshadows so damn big? I thought it was a blush at first glance.

Thanks for the review and sorry you couldnt get all you wanted to get.

Sorry for going off topic, but I just had my transmission rebuilt and I had to come up with $3500 ... parts and labor. It still breaks my heart. Looking to trade it in for a newer car. I've got a 2004 Honda Accord. They say once a transmission goes it times to get rid of the car. Would your bf recommend that? Or should I just keep it?

I was just coming on to here to post about those two.

I'm fairly pale, about an NC15/20. I wore Oh So Fair Yesterday and Briar Rose today. OSF looks much more natural on me. It gives me a soft glow that I can wear with anything. Briar Rose, on the other hand, is a bit too much. It says, "Hi, I'm wearing blush." You may have that same issue I do, which is why I suggest OSF for you.

As for me...well I'll keep wearing BR today, but it may end up in my swap pile.

And I didn't get any of the dark lippies because I have Kittenish and I've been rocking that a lot lately...should have gotten two, but Dark Deed looks so nice. *I will not go back to the counter. I will not go back to the counter. I will not go back to the counter*

For those who are new to Violetta, there is a lipliner by NYX Purple Rain that matches it perfectly.

Re: MAC - Venomous Villains discussion

i went to the store today when it opened and after about 10 mins, briar rose was sold out. there weren't many people there but the MA said they had only gotten three and no, they won't be restocking. ridiculous!
i'm glad i was going to pass on it anyways.

apparently i am the only one who didn't buy BoA, it really didn't wow me. i feel guilty though, like i was supposed to like it - what's wrong with me??

i got my dark magic only for the purple part - it's gorgeous.
i also got OSF because although i do have similiar colors, they are all mineralize blushes and therefore way sparklier which justifies the purchase, i think
smiles.gif

my favourite buy is, as expected, innocence beware! it is such a pretty nude pink color i am fighting the urge to buy a back-up. this is seriously gorgeous!

i passed on devilishly stylish because it was too sheer for my pigmented lips and strange potion was way too orange on me.

saved some money for tartan tale i guess.

hee! i am back from the event at the counter near me, and had a foolish amount of fun(got more stuff, but not just VV stuff this time!

). The MA and I were cracking up over another artist and her "executive decisions" over who would try on which costume. She was too funny. When the guy taking pictures asked which villain I wanted to be, I told him to ask my stylist. heee!

I was the Evil Queen. tee hee! Whenever it's up on MAC's photo site, I'll share the silliness.

I blame Disney for the giggly morning I had. It's just one of those brands that makes everybody happy.

Okay. now to see if i can post my big head pics from today...

VV look 1 eyes closed | Flickr - Photo Sharing!

I didn't get the full run down of all that was used, but here is what I remember:

Face:
Studio Sculpt foundation
Select Cover up concealer
A Mineralized blush, I think Warm Soul, for the highlight
Another blush for the apples and hollows of my cheeks, i have no memory. i need to take something for that.

Eyes:
I want to say Macroviolet for the base, but am not sure.
Haute & Naughty mascara
My Dark Magic MES
Beautiful Iris
On the Hunt superslick liner

Brows:
I think she used Strut, but it could be Spiked? Either way it's not what I usually use, but still fun to try. She cleaned the lines and refined with the concealer and a stiff brush.

Lips:
Filled in with Spice liner and topped with Underage lipglass.

and that is all my brain will recall, and it has probably screwed that up anyway.

regardless, i had fun, and am glad everyone that has been able to get out and see the collection and get what they wanted has done so!

Oh sheesh sorry about the transmission! Here's what I would do which is what I did when I bought my car. I bought my junky 1995 Honda Civic at a local auto auction for $1700 with no time to test drive it. Welp I won the auction and when I went to drive it home it wouldnt shift! My b/f was ahead of me in his car and told me to let off the gas in order to get it to shift each time I needed it to change gears. After trying some different things, replacing what we thought was the problem....hoping it wasnt the tranny....it turned out to be just that
ssad.gif

Anyway here's what I did. I went on ebay and found a tranny for $75 with only 40k-60k miles on it. Apparently in Japan they replace all the tranny's when they hit that mileage with new ones and they sell those used ones in working condition to places in the US. Luckily this place was in Philly just 3 hours from me so I asked a friend if he'd pick it up for me and I'd come get it from him on the weekend. I wouldnt put money into getting your tranny rebuilt because it's too expensive. See how much it is to get a used one that's in of course working condition and for the labor to install it. Hondas are pretty easy to work on and it took my b/f, me and his brother about a week working a few hours here and there to get it installed.

So altogether it cost maybe $200 including the tranny and a few extra things I had to replace with the suspension (as we found to be worn when we put in the new tranny) if that for me to replace the transmission so alot cheaper then getting it rebuilt

If you want to trade it in then I guess consider what it would cost in payments monthly if you will be doing that and which is cheaper in the long run then getting a used transmission. Anyway as you see when the tranny goes it doesnt mean you have to get a new car. Hope this helps and let me know what you end up doing. Good luck with it all.

Oh yeah btw my b/f's tranny went just two weeks after we replaced mine in his beat up old Cavalier. He paid $250 I think for it on ebay and it was a lot harder to put in because every single suspension part had to be removed! The Honda was soooo much easier

Re: MAC - Venomous Villains discussion

Hello my little pretties!! LOL!

I have been giddy for Venomous Villains since I first heard it was coming out! I was all up in Monday Madness, when the collection went on sale on-line. When it did not go up at 5pm my time, I kinda went about my day. Going about my day almost cost me to miss out on the thrill of ordering on-line!
tong.gif
I got my order in about 10 or 15 mins after it went up. Yesterday was Black Box Day and I got everything I ordered! I was too excited when UPS pulled into the parking lot! Sad thing is, after I opened the box, tried on a few things, I left and went to the counter to get more. Madness, I know.

Let me say that Darkly My Dear Blush is to die for! It may look like nothing great but when I put it on, it became a beautiful, classy color. I want to wear it forever. I don't buy blush backups but I may get a backup of this color. I can't trust MAC to include it in a future collection.

I know everyone has been talking about Dark Deed already but, I have to give my two cents. I was very excited about this color after I saw a few swatches. When I tried it on, it was just okay, at best. It runs more brown than red/purple/plum on me. But, when you put Wrong Spell Lipglass on top, pure sex!! Hot as hell and looks even better with Darkly My Dear! Matter-of-fact, I loved Darkly My Dear, Dark Deed, and Wrong Spell together so much, I'm thinking of getting all three, as a birthday gift, for my younger sister and I never buy other people makeup! She's not much into makeup but I think she would like the colors.

Bite of an Apple is pretty but, I had to really layer it it on. I wish it had moe pigmentation like some of the MAC Pro Blush shades I have.

Christine called Heartless a neutral red and she was right. It did not look like anything special on my lips but, when I added Wicked Ways Lipglass, it came alive! I won't be getting a backup of Heartless but I will be getting a backup or two, of Wicked Ways. To me, MAC does not do a good, red gloss to often. I know this one may be a little fuchsia but, it's great for waking up tired reds and as a red lip whore, it's a most have!

I loved My Dark Magic but had decided not to get it because I was trying not to spend too much on this collection. It's Fall and I always need new clothes.
tong.gif
I caved yesterday and got it. I'm now disappointed because the one I got has more black than fuchsia on the larger side so it does not look the way I want it to. I will have to be really careful where I put my brush when I decide to wear it.

Briar Rose is pretty. Because it's a BP and I'm a NW45, it does not give me much color but, it will be great on those days where I may do a stronger eye and want a bit of cheek color but not much. If for no other reason, I love the packaging.

I bought other items from the collection as well but, I will talk about them later. I need to finish up some work then head back to the mall and haul again!

I cry every time I go to Magic Kingdom and walk under the bridge and see Cindy's castle. I'm such a Disney brat. I go back home aka Disney World on October 30 and on the 31st we're going to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. I'm so glad this collection came out before Halloween. I'm going to have to come up with a MAC Disney Venomous Villains look for for the party.
th_DANCE.gif
Oh and I cry through the entire Fantasmic show at Hollywood Studios after Sorcerer Mickey appears on top to the moutain and the symphony goes bananas. OMG I'm tearing up right now...

Anyway...back on topic! Your look is awesome! Glad you had so much fun today!!!!!
