At first I was mixing two drops of the oil in with my moisturizer, then applying to my face...I tried applying moisturizer and then the oil which probably works the same, but I liked the way both absorbed into my skin much quicker when I mixed the two.

For my foundation, I use Studio Sculpt, so I put the amount I'm going to use on the back of my hand, mix in two drops of the oil either with my finger or my brush, and then apply to my face in the usual manner-it blends so much more easily into my skin with the oil and it stays looking smooth and blended all day!

I really love the Grapefruit + Chamomile oil and I can't wait to try the Orange + Lavender

For the record, I was really skeptical about the oils since I have a very oily t-zone and I didn't want to make it worse. I found though that when I mix the oil with my foundation and then powder my face like normal, because the foundation really blends into my skin, my face actually stays matte longer. HTH-these oils rock!!

Hey guys! I went to my MAC store and saw this collection! I was looking for Warm Me Up lipstick but it was sold out so I was a bit sad about it. I saw Spiced Tea l/s and it look like the color that I would use but didn't get it. I only swatched Modelette and it's the perfect color for my skintone! I got that and didn't get anything else from the collection. I saw Comfort and I will order it next week. I also saw the shadesticks in Nurture, Relaxed and Cuddle. I didn't swatched as well as I should though lol I also saw Mulled Cider and Chamomile e/s and Mulled Cider would be the eyeshadow that I would use everyday. I saw the Essential Oils and the Mineralize All-Over Lotion and I'm going to get the Mineralize All-Over Lotion sometime soon. Overall, this collection is perfect for all you neutral loving girls!

Sussane thanks so much for the awesome tips!!!

I've been wanting to give this a try but really scared to do so because of my oily combination skin. Now I'm seriously thinking to get it!!!

How does it affect the foundation and the finish? How about application? Is it better to mix them and then apply it or put the oil first and then foudation? Sorry for the million questions! :p

I have oily skin all over actually...But my MA had told me how well it smooths out foundation so I decided to give it a try. I like the way Studio Scuplt covers but it just didn't look smooth on me so I take like not even a whole drop and mix it with the foundation and the results are awesome! I haven't tried it with my skincare yet but Susanne had good luck with it too! hope this helps!

^ Almost the same here: My forehead (near my eyebrows), nose and cheeks are extra oily but my chin, jaw, around my mouth and upper part of my forehead is extra dry!!!

Which oil will suit me?? Maybe both???

If all else fails, I would say go with your nose?!

Since they are perm in certain locations you could try one and the other one later?

Sweet orange and lavender: energize, heal, soothe and calm
Grapefruit and chamomile: purify, regenerate, soothe, and calm

I will get the orange/lavender one

You guys got me all curious about oils now. I swear I'll try a natural Fig Oil on my shoulders to test tonight. If it goes well, my face will be the next. I normally use it on my hair ends and massage a few drops into the roots. It soaks right in and helps to brush through although my fingers get a bit greasy after massaging.

I know Lavender oils are always recommended to heal breakouts and reduce discolorations, same goes for Tea Tree oils. Camomile is great for soothing dry or irritated skin. Camomile tea with a drop of lemon juice is recommended to wash your face and energize your skin in the morning. You could drink your tea and wipe your face with a warm tea bag or put it on your closed eyes for a few minutes as I do once in a while (without a lemon if you put it on your eyes). A double duty out of your yummy breakfast

The care blend oils sound really interesting. Do they contain any Glycerin, Glyceryl, mono-, di- or tri-glycerides? I'm often allergic to those chemicals and break out if they are unrefined. Maybe a certain source they are derived from also creates that reaction. I had to exclude all glycerides even from foods (butter, ice-cream, canned soups, salad dressings, soft drinks, bread and other baked goods, chocolate). Mineralize lotion has some Glyceryl, I see. Maybe I should risk and try? MAC wouldn't use unrefined ingredients, would it? Sounds so tempting.

I do have 2N from the N collection and it smells like crayons and whenever i wore it, it chaps my lips and makes my lips look like i've just peeled the skin on my lips. After all the raves of the NC40ish girls on youtube about 2N, i thought i had to get it again and i did, even though i already have a bad one. Luckily mine is fine and it doesn't smell bad.

I noticed that whenever i wear 3N lipstick on it's own, without pairing it with a gloss, gives me the look which 2N lipglass does as well. It's a shame because 3N lipstick is a very pretty colour.

So I did a little experiment today and I just wanted to say that for all my fellow oily-skinned ladies, 1 drop of the Care Blends Oil to mix with your foundation works better than 2. I still prefer 2 drops when I mix the oil with my moisturizer though
smiles.gif

When I asked the MA at MAC about which oil to try, she told me the Grapefruit + Chamomile one was for clarifying skin and that she used that one because she got breakouts. She also said the Orange + Lavender one would be more for moisturizing.

Since using the Grapefruit + Chamomile for a week now, I haven't broken out at all so I can definitely vouch for it being 'clarifying'! It also cleared up a previous breakout. My Orange + Lavender oil is in the mail as we speak so I'll let you know if I find that one any different or more 'moisturizing'.

^thanks! I have BNB l/s and rarely use it. I almost attempted to order Warm Me Up l/s off of Nordstrom's website but I don't want to pay $8.00 for the shipping. If anyone is kindly willing to get Warm Me Up l/s for me, I'll pay whatever price that you want me to pay for.

^It's okay. I didn't think it would sell out so quick. Modelette is awesome!! I compared it with Era e/s and there is no similarities to it. Modelette is the perfect skin color highlight for me.

Then I seriously consider trying both oils, since my oily zones are always in need for clarifying and soothing but my dry areas are always in such desperately need for extra moisture.

I'm having trouble to decide which oil should I get. I have quite a normal skin type, no specific problems with it. Any suggestions? Maybe either one could be okay? I just don't know yet what I want from it, except to help Studio Sculpt foundation to work better with it (it has been just sitting in my traincase because I hate the way it applies!).

I'm in agony with Mac nailpolishes! They have been releasing so many beautiful colours and I have sworn not to get any because I'm too impatient to work with the horrible formula. Blissed Out, Dim The Lights and the one from Love Lace...

...must stay strong!

my skin is normal but I sometimes have dry spots on my nose and between the brows. But the clarifying one wouldn't be bad to get either! These oils sound great. I wonder how long it would last per bottle.
