I am feeling the same, except I for the Pearlmattes.  Then again, if swatches show they are quite similar to the Vera pearlmattes, I will skip those.  Not sure about the pigments, they could be dupeable also.  I like the packaging, but my collection is getting so large I want to focus on unique colors which I feel are lacking in this collection.  And if I have to work too hard to get product b/c it sells out fast on line, I am going to just be over it.
I've never owned a pearl matte, I vaguely remember the Vera powders and I thought they were very dry and chalk like when tested. Yes I'm not going on an online nonsense run around.if I can't get it at the store or counter forget it.

A lot of Nordstroms are having MAC Archies' Girls events scheduled for Feb 8 - 10. The collection should definitely be out by that weekend, if not earlier! I am guessing January 31..

I bet this is already worked into the price somewhere. Mac knows it'll happen and probably after all of these years can guess how much will be returned. I highly doubt that all of the price increases are due to returns. I could see if next year returns were up 50% they might have to figure something out with the returns (like, was it mostly one product? was it a formula thing?).

I don't feel shame in returning ANYTHING. I don't think others should either. THen again, I don't buy a whole collection and then decide later what I really wanted. The product has to have a serious application flaw or be bad quality for me to return something. I returned a MES from HC due to excessive, major, glittery fall out. I've returned a foundation that I was supposedly matched to that just was NOT right (I did try to make it work for two weeks thinking they couldn't have been wrong... but stuff happens). And I returned an item that I did NOT ask for but was placed in my bag anyhow (and then sent hubs to pick it up after paying for it over the phone).

I think after a certain period people learn what works for them and generally stick with that but I don't think we should be afraid of trying new colors or new items. Just like stores factor in theft etc into prices I'm certain MAC factors in returns.

How can you guys go to the events? Because now I am living in Canada, really close to a Mac store (finally), and I was there shopping a few things and I saw a flyer from this collection when I was at the cashier paying, and I asked her if I could take a look, so she said: "Yes sure, but it has no pictures in it". Then I realized it was not a flyer, it was an invitation to the release party but she didn't give me one :'(

I can't imagine using a pigment without a brush! I second all of Copperhead's advice, and will add that you might also find it helpful to pour a small amount of pigment into the lid before dipping your brush in. Makes it easier to not pick up too much product, since a little pigment goes a looooooonnnnnnnng way. Less messy too! HTH
I 2nd this. I never put my brush directly into the pigment jar.

!!!!! That's so odd! You should have just told him/her that you were interested in signing up for the event...

Hmm..if you are registered with MAC online you would get mailers, I suppose. I have bought only one time in store here in the US, and the cashier asked me for my mail id so I could get info regarding events and invites, etc. You could probably just register with your local store so you get the info in the mail...there is some sort of RSVP info too in those mails.

I'm on MAC's mailing list, but I don't get invites in the mail for every collection release party (even though I know they've been sent out to other people). If I'm interested in an event, I just go down to the store and ask if they have one going on anytime soon. I'm sure if you ask, they would be more than happy to sign you up! They're usually given goals for how many people they have to sign up for events, so there's no reason they shouldn't be scrambling to put your name on the list

Major Frowny Face...put their name on major blast. I'd personally want to know who would do something so dirty so that I could know not to support them/their site/anything they do. How terrible. So sorry to hear about that!

Hear! Hear! This is your right as a consumer, sorry if your receipt says I can return something for any reason...I'm going to if I feel the need to. I'm not trying to cheat a company or get one over on somebody, so if I try the lipstick and I just don't see it being part of my happy home...I'm gonna have to pack it's little MAC bags (packaging). Course...usually I get lazy or forget so...it all works out.
