I wonder if people assume that special packaging means that the product is 'better'? Like, the company is willing to invest more showing it off? or do people just like the specialness because it adds to the fun factor? Or is it the hype/resale thing. It's weird to me because some of MAC's perm products are really good.Funny how big of a difference packaging makes in selling a product.
Hmm, I don't know. I rarely get caught up in special packaging hype and I personally didn't find the Julia Petit packaging anything to write home about but it was nice, not ugly or anything. The only time I was seriously compelled to get something due to the packaging was the Prabal collection and I *might* be leaning that way for Wash & Dry although I'm not really crazy about anything from that collection. At least I did want Ultramarine Pink. :lol:I wonder if people assume that special packaging means that the product is 'better'? Bite makes a good one ($20 @ Sephora).I almost forgot to mention, because this is my very first lip palette I will be needing a good lip brush now! Do any of you lovely ladies have a recommendation for me?
Haha! I actually have that one on my loves list right now... I think this may be a sign that it's the oneBite makes a good one ($20 @ Sephora).
I only mess with le's from MAC now because I was hype on them since the mid 90's, everything was MAC. There wasn't much for WOC aside from Fashion Fair back then. Then other brands started broadening their foundation/powder shades, making more pigmented eye shadows, nicer lipstick shades, etc, so they became comparable and/or were cheaper than MAC, so I stopped. I started back with them for RiRi (2013) then other le's, so now getting those is just fun for me. After not bothering with MAC since about 2004 for my wedding. And yes, for resellers, special packaging is visual proof that something is unique so easy to sell. Otherwise people would have to research to validate if something is really a le. Special packaging, they can see that.I wonder if people assume that special packaging means that the product is 'better'? The only drawback to it is that it doesn't come with a cap but it does have one of those plastic tube protector things around it, so I've kept that with it for when I toss it in my makeup bag.Haha! I actually have that one on my loves list right now... I think this may be a sign that it's the one
I know, lol! I totally love this chick!I legit luv her for posting this picture--made me LOL
The NARS comes with a both a cap and a mechanism that makes the brush head retract so it doesn't go all over if you're using it on the road.I almost forgot to mention, because this is my very first lip palette I will be needing a good lip brush now! Gotcha, thanks for the suggestion! The only drawback to it is that it doesn't come with a cap but it does have one of those plastic tube protector things around it, so I've kept that with it for when I toss it in my makeup bag.
Ugh I'm so happy for you and jealous of you at the same time. I wish UPS would hurry up with mine!! It looks wonderful! Glad you love it.The UPS just dropped off my MAC box. Immediately got out some lipstick brushes and started playing and mixing the colors. There so beautiful, creamy and comfortable. Weekend 1 and 2 are the exactly colors I've been searching for. The seafoam green and blue allows you to customize your lipstick colors.. Now I feel like I don't need to buy the LIme Crimes Lavender and lilac l/s. I'M SOOO GLAD I BOUGHT THIS PALETTE !!
Very cool? Excited to get it.Here is a comparison swatches of MM and Cardinal.
Cardinal is the top & MM is the bottom. I'm liking MM more, because it's more opaque and creamy in one swipe. I haven't tried them both on the lips, yet. My lips are stained pink from trying on HC from Philip Treacy.
HTH!
Taken facing an open window, yet it's pretty overcast outside.
Man. Do I need MM?
