I've never seen RHPS, but I'm excited about this collection. I've been pretty disinterested in a lot of Mac lately. I need a huge haul.

No color story yet? Oh by the way, can we please get the color story once we have it on the very first post? I don't usually check the thread but I think it would be easier.

Thanks in advance! I'm really excited about this collection especially, my pregnancy hormones are craving for red lipsticks lately! LOL!

Rocky Horror Picture Show might not seem so unusual today. The culture has changed a lot. But it was moderately revolutionary in its day.

I look forward to finding out more about the collection!

I agree. In fact, I think it would be tame enough to be lame. I love it through nostalgic 1980s eyes, but I don't think I've bothered to watch it for the last 20 years despite having a copy.

Actually it is from significantly earlier. "The Rocky Horror Show" premiered in London in 1973, the live stage show. I saw the stage show live in LA in 1974 - it played there for 9 months - i saw it twice and Tim Curry was fantastic live. Out and gay was not common so having gay characters and a transexual character in the first half of the 70s was revolutionary - the stage show was certainly not mainstream. It was actually unsuccessful on Broadway (NYC) - it was far from the mainstream and shocking to "ordinary" Americans.

The movie "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" was made in 1975 - not the 80s, although maybe that's when some of you young folks (

Oh, I know it came out earlier but I was too young to watch it at that point. I discovered it at the old Seville Theatre in Montreal (sadly now destroyed - it was an old atmospheric theatre build in the 20s that once housed live acts like Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Nat King Cole, etc). It was a repertory theatre in the early 80s where I watched RH over and over again. In fact, we used to hide in the bathroom and then come out and watch it a second (and occasionally third) time.
