hi! i was just wondering if you guys prefer to buy your make up on line or you prefer to buy it in store/counter and why... all this is because a little incident i had today.. let me explain... i went to this MAC store that is located in the same mall i work.. so on my break i went to get some stuff... and this MUA asked me if i needed anything and this other MUA was like... oh my god! what are you gonna get now! she doesn't need anything she has a lot of stuff she just buys thing because... i don't know.... and yeah probably i should say something back BUT I DIDN'T! i don't have enough "guts" to say something "smart" to somebody which i hate that from myself.. whatever and i had another incident like this a couple of weeks ago, i bought a couple of lipsticks and this MUA said to me ok i'll see you when balloonacy comes out, i don't think you gonna need anything til then.. well at least she didn't sound that RUDE like the other one.. but... seriously is it too annoying for you MUA that work at MAC?? does it really bother you that you have a frequent customer all the time? honestly i don't think i'm a bitch i swear i go to the store and i tell them what i need, i pay and i leave is that fast! so i don't understand what's the deal ... that's why i decided to start buying my stuff online ... sorry for the long story but i wanted to vent .....

I prefer to buy my MAC at the counter. Shipping costs are to much for me if I was to buy something online if I wanted one or two things, and the MAs at my freestand store are pretty rude and tend to ignore me. The girls at the bay counter I go to are soo nice

They always talk about the collections, and theyre always helpful, and happy, and they don't ignore customers even if they're really busy

I have to buy my make up online. I live on military base in Japan, I here their are MAC counters in tokyo but MAC in japan is pricy and they don't have as many options as USA MAC does. THeir are clinique, shiseido, estee lauder, lancome and elizabeth arden but I like MAC better than those brands and prefer to spend my moolah on MAC. I don;t MUAs very much. The lancome one is so pushy. I just wanted a fondation brush and she just kept pushing products on me. The only thing bad about online is the color may not be true to life. All the MAC products I have bought online have been pretty accurate but I have a bought a few products that I don't like.

I usually go to the store or counter. If I get attitude from an MA I just go to another counter or to the store. I've only ordered online once & thats cuz they were outta the colors I wanted. Thats ridiculous what that girl did, she should be happy that you are a customer that she doesn't hafta try to make a sale. I'd think that they'd be happy to have a more frequent customer.. MAC is addicting, they should know.

Unless I know exactly what I want/how it looks, I'll go to a counter/CCO. I find people make snide remarks everywhere you go.

At the CCO Monday, the mgr. was telling a customer about how she won't sell to certain people because she *thinks* they're reselling the merchandise. Granted, I would hate for someone to pick up every last Waternymph that was in the store just as I walk in, but is it really her business to be the Barney Fife of the eyeshadow display? And, to talk about something like that with a customer is totally out of line, IMO. If you care so much for the lady getting what she wants, take her name & number and give her a call if/when the product gets there. Or, better yet, why don't you do as the other CCOs do and impose limits? That way if said person wants to shop 6 different times/days to buy out the store, they'll look like an ass, not you.

I prefer to shop online just because the website won't get pushy and try to upsell. Also, I know that if I go to the mall, I'll end up buying way more than I intended, not just at THAT counter, but also at other stores.

I plan on getting Baloonacy online.

I prefer to go to the counter, because I can see the color in person then decide what works for me. Plus I'm too stingy to pay for shipping anyways, and I don't want to wait, lol

that's really rude of the MUA to comment on you like that. I guess it'd be another story if you knew that MUA well and she was joking about it. Or She could have been joking about it, but you could have taken the wrong way because you don't know her well?
Either way, I'm sorry that you had to go through incidents like that.

Something about shopping at a MAC store is so much better because I like to test the colours out and see what works best with my skin and perhaps try out a look etc. However my local MAC store has to work on their customer service a bit more. I've never actually bought anything online from MAC though...

I buy online because the MAC store is an hour and a half away and we have a one counter here in a Macy's but I know the store manager and cosmetics manager and they are both jackasses so I refuse to spend any money at their store. Plus I used to work with a few people that work there and they have absolutely no makeup knowledge nor do they care too and it gives us real MA's a bad name so I also refuse to go there for that reason. If the MAC freestanding was closer I would go there because they have awesome MA's.

That is INCREDIBLY rude.

If I were that employee, I'd be thankful you like to buy MAC. I'd be sure to be nice, so you 1) bought from me and 2) told your friends and 3) kept coming back. I have a hard time understanding why someone who sells something would be snarky to someone who buys it and is pleasant and eager!

And why is it her business if you're buying because you need things or want things or want to pet things or want to use them on customers or want to break them into tiny pieces just for fun? The point it: she's selling and you're buying!
hmm.gif

I'm so sorry.... I doubt strongly that MAC would be thrilled to hear about her nasty comments.

I wish I could go to the freestanding store here in ATL and get a better experience more often than not, but no such luck. I have to remember the busy waves of the day and then avoid them in order to get a good experience, which could possibly screw up my day's plans. So I've decided that if I need to test-drive a product I will go to this ONE particular Macy's counter on Fridays after I leave work (1 or 2pm). The ladies there are very nice and helpful and make it fun! They can have all my money, since the store MAs ignore me...

If I know what I need (replace something I ran out of) and I can't get to the counter, I don't mind ordering online (if I can get free shipping w/a special or chat code, etc.). I love getting packages in the mail. It's like xmas, lol.

Sorry you had to go through that! I used to work for another EL company and we would never have been like that. When we buy more stuff, it keeps them open, so they need to remember that!

sorry, not to go on but this makes me really mad! about you saying that your a fast customer :if you work in retail it's much easier to have return customers and even customers that ask questions and interact with you. i used to hate those slow days just 'windexing' and sanitizing.

there are certain counters i will not buy from, i will check out the colors and try them out and then go home and order them. if the MA at another counter is working i will buy stuff, but i tend to prefer to buy online.

I prefer to see things in person but when I can't get to the counter or store, it's easier to order online.

How they treated you was completely uncalled for and I'd write in to head office if I were you. They should be happy that they have repeat customers so what diff is it to them when/how much you buy? That is so rude!

ACK!!! There are some rude and snobby MA/SA at my Macy's MAC Counter. They dont want to spend time with you and just want to get you out of there. I understand they are busy, but if they can spend time with other customers, they sure can spend time with me!
I now go to a MAC store and am so happy there!

I would recommend you go to the store and look at the products yourself, this way you know what the product looks like (if it's something like lipstick or eye shadows).

i rather go to my local mac counter in macys or to the new mac store they opened in the white plains,ny mall. this way i can see it for myself to see if i really like it or not since the mac website can be "off" on the color. sometimes i will order from the mac website if its a special that is only offered on the web or if i know for sure i really want and will like it.

From this moment on, don't give that b*tch anymore of your business. I'm pretty sure there are other MUA's on hand who would love to help you out. It's their job! Also, I would most definately be taking down Miss B*tch's name and contacting her district or regional manager. I strongly believe that the "powers that be" would not be to thrilled knowing that one of their own is treating customers like that. If anything I'm pretty sure the company would be happy to know that you are an active, customer of MAC cosmetics. I would most definately remind the managers of this when you decide to call. Please, dont' let this wench continue treating folks like this. Think about it, if she's talking to you like this, imagine all the others.
