I have a freestanding store just ten minutes away, so I always go there so I can get pan eyeshadows. Actually, from the apartment I lived in last year, I could walk there! It was just two blocks away!

However, I am moving this summer - two hours away and there isn't even a MAC counter where I"ll be living!

Luckily, I go home to visit my family a lot and there is a counter there...but I already told my DH that we will be driving the two hours occassionally so I can get my fill at the freestanding store! I don't think I could order online unless I was replacing something I was already using, I like to be able to go try out the colors in person since you can never tell how sheer or pigmented they are from the website.

I just recieved my first purchase from the website, and I think I love doing it that way. No crappy sales tax, for one, and free shipping. Plus, it felt like a holiday when I was tearing into the box!

I prefer to go to the counter as I can see the true colours against my skintone. The MA are really courteous and helpful here.

I can not understand why that SA would say something like that. That was incredibly rude and uncalled for. Regular customers = sales! It's a shame that because of her attitude, you feel discouraged to go there.

If I already know how something looks I don't mind ordering online....but if I am not sure I prefer to go to the counter
