I'm happy I found this, because it made me do some research...I dont know much, but I certainly have been enlightened by much of what I have read.

I think its really sad that she communicated her opinion so poorly. As a non-American I see nothing wrong with her stated position.

What I was able to gather, is that she is happy that America is making strides in equality for all, but personally she does not think same sex marriage is right. This opinion is due to how she was brought up

In truth, as a Christian, there is no other answer. Marriage as Christian exercise,is a vow made before God.

Is she a Christian? With an answer like that, its all I am left to assume.

I think it is commendable that she spoke the truth about her personal beliefs, she must have been aware that her opinion would be at best, unpopular. Better that than to be ambiguous or say what will be popular. I always say: To thine own self be true.

She should lose her title/crown if she broke the rules, especially since past queens lost their crowns when they were cought doing something, right?

The rules are there for a reason and everyone enterting should abide by them.

No. The last girl up for losing her crown due to I THINK it was pictures, or drugs, was not stripped of her title.

Oh alright.. I remember one girl was smoking pot or caught kissing girls or something and they made her give back her crown, from my understanding. I could be wrong though.

I just watched the news briefing......Photos were taken for application of a job not for publication...and Trump said the panel found they were not raunchy, provocative or distasteful.....since the girl is a Successful MODEL....Wonder what they will dig up next to throw at her. Let it go and move forward...it was a pageant.....Hell she didn't even win the damn thing. because we all know the pageant Answer is WHY we are even having this discussion and why her past was dug in to. Maybe they should do this much research on all the Queens that represent EVERY state.

This chick is dumber than a box of rocks. Someone should pull her aside and explain to her that her constitutional right to free speech pertains to governmental retribution. Listening to her whine and cry about the rights her grandfather fought for being undermined made me want to smack her in the mouth.

She was around 17 at the time the photos were taken, so is that child porn or borderline..some of the pics i saw had her nipples covered with stars.
and on another note, the California pageant officials paid for her breast implants so she would win the miss u.s.a. contest. ftw. there are much greater causes to donate money too.

I couldn't agree with you more. I heard her speech and "crying" about her constitutional right on the radio today, lol!

While I do not agree with her answer at all, the beauty is the issue of equality is again lifted into the forefront. We should not hold these 20 year old girls as bastions for our states let alone countries. What she should have remembered when answering that is that she does represent a whole state full of diverse populations, that is where she failed.

This is tangential, but there actually is another answer:
There are very many gay and lesbian people who are Christian and feel that they deserve to be able to witness their union before God. You can still make a promise toward God to love one another and raise a family whether you are heterosexual or homosexual. Now, if a specific religious institution wants recognize that is another question. And that's not even getting to the civil marriages.

She is entitled to her opinions about marriage, but so are Christians who support marriage equality.
