Jesus said love thy neighbor. Funny how so many people forgot about that one.

I don't agree with what she said, and I think Perez is an ass. But face it, she's a beauty queen, nobody expects her to be intelligent. I think people are blowing the situation way out of proportion.

Also I think that if she had said she agreed with gay marriage, she would be facing even more scrutiny than she is now. She can't win either way with that question.

I agree Jesus did say love thy neighbor.......however that applies to people that believe in Jesus...you have to keep in mind everyone does not practice the same faith/religion ....And thats okay....

I also think he would have put exceptions on neighbors like Jeffery Dahmer.....

I meant that a lot of Christians are saying homosexuality is not acceptable, but then Jesus said Love thy neighbor. I'm sure Miss California considers herself to be a Christian. Of course not every Christian, or most. Just the extremists.

I'm not Christian but I like to practice Jesus' teachings.

It's not really a big deal, just something that's always kind of irked me.

I don't understand what's the fuss about her answer. She got asked whether or not she believe that same sexed marriage should be allowed, and she gave her honest answer. She wasn't raised on it.
She didn't say anything derogatory towards gay people... I think everyone should be entitled to their opinion and not be insulted for it even if it's different.
I'm not saying I agree with her opinion, but she is entitled to it and that is what she was asked.
But she did sound like a little kid who needs to learn proper grammar.

While watching the show, the first thing that came to my mind was, What the hell is she saying? I didn't even pay much attention to the hype about same sex marriage. It took her forever just to say "no", she took us through the woods to grandma's house and back pass uncle Pete's, seriously just say No. Now, I don't have an issue with her belief but I do however have a problem with her promoting her beliefs as Miss California, her platform is the Special Olympics and that's what she should be focused on and promoting awareness about. Save the "Traditional Marriage" issue for after her reign is over. just my 2 cents. For the record, I support Equal Rights for ALL! marriage included.

HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

religion and politics!!! And Miss California..the state known for being more progressive, while at the same time oddly conservative. I honestly don't know what she should have said so as not to offend the majority of judges, but what she did say was not only offending, but it sounded like she wasn't really sure what she thought was right. It came out like she had an i.q. of 90.

WORLD PEACE!

This made me lol

From Perez Hilton

Quote:
VAN SUSTEREN: What is your thought on civil unions?
PREJEAN: My thought on civil unions? You know what, Greta? I don't have the answers to everything. I'm not running for political office. I don't have the answers to everything, you know, in the world out there.
But I think that there should be rights for people, you know, especially in California. I think that people that are homosexual should have some rights, you know, hospital rights, and things like that.
But I would like to be more educated on that, so when I do have a better answer for you, I will get back to you on that one.
But so far I just support traditional marriage, and that's my main focus.
VAN SUSTEREN: What about adoption?
PREJEAN: Greta, I am focusing on marriage right now, not adoption, not civil unions, just traditional marriage, and I'm going to do whatever it takes to promote that.

I can't believe how much people care about the answer of some bimbo beauty queen. Sorry that's just how I see it. I mean these girls are essentially chosen to look pretty when it comes right down to it, it's a highly superficial contest of sorts, I really don't understand why viewers expect thought-provoking or meaningful dialogue from these women. If I want to get an intelligent opinion on something, I certainly won't turn to the USA pageant for that! lol

Dunno, just my thoughts on the whole debacle. I mean I can't believe something so silly and trivial was even on the news...

Remember the other beauty queen that was drinking and kissing this other girl in a picture a couple of years ago? That was slightly amusing. Great role models!

Nobody is talking about it now on the news its all Swine Flu panic!
Her "teacher" should have been helping her to have some eloquence istead of all look. Plus the pressure of the audience and being broadcast around the world on t.v. would be nerve wracking. I would probably just pass out. I kind of feel sorry for the girl's, you know their mom's are super obsessed over the whole thing and I'm sure there are girls that truly want to try it, but i've seen way more many mothers force it.

The picture of the one "beauty queen" in the limo with her legs in the air was hardly raunchy, she was wearing Jeans.

I agree with what you said...i don't think people should be so upset about what she said..it's what she believes...we all have our own opinions and beliefs...agree or disagree it's her views
