NARS Fall 2011

Weird but true: As much makeup as I have (way too much for any four people, let alone one), I believe I have a half a dozen eye liners (about half and half pencil and liquid). I just bought a brown liner for the first time in my life a couple of weeks ago. I was going to buy the Urban Decay anniversary set, just so that I could buy one thing and have all the colours I'd need without having to think too much about it, but the set sold out at Sephora before I got a chance to grab it.

I am starting not the feel this trio design. It is reminding me of the old Mac 6 e/s compacts and starting to look cheap, plus the colors looks like what it is in the permanent collection.

I do want that duo, in love with that.

MAC Parrot is a decent dupe for the blue shadow on the far right... it's just missing a bit of the density of the colour that NARS one has.

I love the look of the trio too but only the two colours on the right, I'm allergic to pale frosty shades (the one on the left) I really love the other shades though, I hope I can find dupes! I can totally spend precious money on all kinds of random makeup but I cannot bear to buy an eyeshadow palette/trio etc. in which I won't use every single one of the colours. The only time when I get makeup sensible LOL!

i wanted to get the summer collection bt changed my mind at the last minute when checking out.. sigh.. i have this tendency to change my mind at checkout. sometimes, i cant deal with the feeling and just press confirm without thinking just so the feeling will go away. hahaa.. i have ISSUES!

and nw the fall collection is haunting me. oh pago2 why do u do this to me?

what brown eyeliner did u get kate? im very curious.. i only have a small collection of black eyeliners (maybe abt 4) and that is pretty much it. I have a free UD brown eyeliner which is the most i venture. been thinking abt getting mac's teddy to try out.. hmm..

I picked up a brown liner from Lise Watier, which I think is a Canadian only company. (Too bad, really, because I think they'd have a following elsewhere.) It's a rich metallic brown that I really like, but, like every pencil liner in history, it takes forever to get it to show up on my very watery water line and then it stays put for less than a minute. I'm hoping I can get some use for it on my upper lash line.

Now I just have to hide for a while so that I can save money for the Fall collections, this one included.

Only thing I'm wondering is whether that gorgeous royal blue colour will work with my light eyes. Seems like the sort of colour that would look incredible with dark eyes... I always wonder the same thing about the Caravaggio duo, which I love in the pan, but suspect that it won't work on me in practice.

katred I think the royal blue would be stunning on you.. you have those light eyes but the black hair.. I would think twice for a blonde /blue eyed persona, but for you.. I think it would work!

Well, truth be told, I really love Gulabi, so the enabling was good.

You can wear Caravaggio - try it at the counter.

Outremer will look horrendous on me, but I'm getting it anyway. I can probably wear it with golds and bronze eyeshadows. Are those eye liners waterline safe? Sorry if that was discussed already.

Outremer Eyeshadow will be mine and those Larger Than Life eyeliners are looking more and more interesting.


I will definitely have to check out that large lip pencil. Wasn't there a lip gloss in one of those pictures posted? I fell in love with NARS lipgloss after I bought Wonder a couple of last week.

Yes, I think it's Oasis lipgloss. You can already find swatches since it's a repromote of a former limited edition (the lipgloss collection that was inspired from blushes).
Also, there is going to be a Larger Than Life lipglosses collection. I couldn't find any information about those, except a few names. Other than that, I have no idea how they differ from the regular lipglosses. I wish we could learn more about those soon!

Thanks Shypo! It's funny, because I've actually been blonde (of varying shades) more than any other colour, but I've gotten quite comfortable with black because it's quite low maintenance.

Like you, I'm drawn to a couple of those liners (despite the fact that I'm not normally a coloured liner girl)... I think that NARS may well end up being the major beneficiary of my cosmetic spending for 2011. Well, them or Chanel, depending on how the Fall collections come out.
