Could I prevail on you to swatch it? There's a Guerlain shade in their holiday collection I was thinking of getting, but I suspect it's similar to Joyous Red (which hasn't shown up in stores in Canada yet).i saw the holiday collection last week. i left with joyous red, though it's not so vavavoom...it's very office friendly, sheerer semi matte. i love the color but wished it was a bit more opaque with pigment.
i liked the two e/l a lot too. though i wouldn't get much use out of the colors since i don't go out much. the gold is so beautiful and melts into your skin...which the violet pops and is electric. love them both.
loved the multiple too (though they make me break out in general). it was an awesome plummy color!
the trio was a disapppointment to me. i really wanted to get it! it was just a black flaky mess.....the purple swatched really nicely at first but then just flew away off my hand and was just left with a black mess. i was so ready to get this.
the ponderosa and other duo were nice too but just didn't call to me at the time.
i wonder what is so new about this one. they have a few of them.. or is this a new formulation of something older. do tell!I bought it from over at MAC's website last week and just started using it. http://www.maccosmetics.com/product/793/9618/Mixing-Medium-Shine/index.tmpl It's $19.50 and is in the pot the old pigments used to come in. Wierd.
Not sure. Just looked at the pot and it says it's a 'shine' mixing medium. Reminds me of petroleum jelly (which I can't use b/c I'm allergic to petroleum products) in a pigment jar. The only reason I found it is because I was looking for that mixing medium in a bottle that had dissapeared from the website. Supposedly there is a matte one. Wish I could get my hands on that.i wonder what is so new about this one. they have a few of them.. or is this a new formulation of something older. do tell!

Thanks for the review lady did you see the collection at the Bay counter? I gotta go check it out!Got to see the collection first hand yesterday. Very classy. Of the items I saw, I thought the pigmentation on the trio was great, although I feel that I have dupes for two of the three shades. Too bad, because the purple, which I can't match, is particularly lovely. The lighter shade of the duo is stunning, really difficult to describe. It's sort of like a dark, dirty cousin of Mac's Tilt. The matte shade is powdery and the colour payoff wasn't great, which is a disappointment. I'm still somewhat tempted, though, since the one shade is so beautiful. Joyous Red is sort of between a brick red and a terracotta. I expected it to be more intense, but it's actually quite restrained. I picked up Guerlain's Gardner, which is close, but a bit deeper and with a glossier finish, so I don't know if I need both.
Miss Liberty is really, really lovely. It's not as glittery as New Order, although there is visible glitter. I'm also happy that this collection called my attention to Sin blush, which I hadn't noticed before. Very pretty.
Those were the only things I really had time to look at. I haven't decided what to pick up yet, but I'm sure that something will follow me home...
