Pro Discount on Dame Edna?

Why are certain stores and website not allowing our pro discount on this collection? Does anyone know if they will be doing this with Hello Kitty? Has MAC done this before, for example on heatherette? It was the same type of packaging.

i was wondering if they will give me my discount in stores. i know the website wont allow it cause i wanted to place an order yesterday. the mac store isnt close to my house its closer to my job so i am going to have to wait until i go back to work on jan 5 to see if they will give me the discount.

I don't know the EXACT reason since I do not work at a store or handle any discounts at all since I work at a Macy's counter. I think that it's probably that since it's a "special" collection that they want it to be a luxury collection, and only be full price. However, since they are technically standard MAC items (skew wise) the artist would have to adjust the pricing during check out.

Something like this has happened to me as a customer. I have bought bags and accessories that are supposed to be 40% off for artists, not the standard 60%, but gotten the full 60 off. That's all I can really think of so it's just if the artist knows whats going on or not I guess? I really have no idea, this is just speculation.

That said, I got a Dame trio the other day with the full employee discount. So... goodluck!

There is not gonna be a discount on Dame Edna, we weren't told the reason, just that there is no discount. Employees included. There will not be a discount on Hello Kitty either for Mac Pro cards or employees.

Bunny you got your discount? We were told there is no discount so no one at the store has attempted to purchase the line.

But for Hello Kitty I've been told no discount which sucks but it makes sense.

Omg. I just checked my reciept. I could have SWORN I got a discount on it but it was full price!! Darnit! This sucks. At least I got my gratis though for a lovely price of zip. :O

I know when I called the Pro store in NY before the collection officially launched everywhere else and on the website, I got my discount, but maybe that's before the memo of no discount came out. They didn't do this for Barbie, Fafi, or Heatherette, so I don't understand this.

^^ that's what happened to me! I ordered right when it came out online & got my discount. But, when I was going to order more I couldn't get my discount.
I called and said that I wasn't suppose to get one, I was just lucky with the online glitch.
I am kinda peeved that it will be the same for Hello Kitty....why now & not before?

I think what she's saying is that you will get your discount because the collection is in regular packaging and not the fancy stuff like Dame edna and hello kitty..so you should get your discount.

I just don't see why they would change it now. Economy?? I guess, but I won't be buying ANY if there's no discount on the HK and I'm sure lots of other Pro members feel the same way. Maybe not, but the only other thing I want from MAC this year is Dazzleglass. Other than that, I'll be trying new things from Nars and MUFE and only buying my necessary items from MAC.

I don't know how they're losing money. They'll sell more with artists and pro member if there's at least SOME discount. And still, MOST of the nation is paying full price for it.

Silly...the only way I buy MAC is with my Pro card, there's no chance I'll buy something without my discount unless it's truly God's Gift to Makeup. They gave us the pro discount on Fafi, which was special packaging- strange about this.

In the past (barbie, fafi, heatherette) the discount has always been available from the get go.
