Pro Discount on Dame Edna?

As Caffn8me stated, the policy has been that the discount does not apply on "select" collections. HK, Dame Edna, Manish being some of them. With the 100 of collections MAC puts out 2 of those not being discountable doesn't hurt. And I understand wanting makeup just because. But it doesn't mean that because you want it, it should be discountable.

HK is gonna be a HUGE collection. Our list for the party is 3 pages long and its not even close to FEB yet.

And like GreekChick said, an LE wont do you much as a permanent.

MACforME what kind of business do you do? Like what type of makeup enviroment are you in? Because if a customer asked me for a specific collection I would just say they can see it at their counter or purchase it if they want THOSE specific colors. I do freelance and I have yet, even as a MAC artist have a specific collection be requested.

I think the fact that discount exists, at such an easy application process, I wouldn't mind not having a few collections not discountable. As staff.. whole 'nother story!

Yes, MAC employees get the discount a couple of days after the collection is released. Such was the case for Monogram, Barbie, Fafi, Red She Said sets, etc

In the context I am using it, it means ungracious.

M·A·C Pro is an amazing scheme and, to my knowledge, the terms and conditions about some LE items not being eligible for discount have always been there. It's not something new.

Membership of M·A·C Pro is a privilege and not a right. Not all cosmetics lines offer such a discount scheme for professionals. Be grateful that M·A·C does.

If you're using products professionally, your prices should take into account that not everything you purchase will be available at a discount. If you can't cover your costs because a client insists on having the latest LE products applied, you've got your pricing wrong.

I may be wrong, but I get the feeling that not everyone who has a Pro card actually works as a professional makeup artist (or one of the other eligible categories such as model, photographer etc.).

The Pro card is not there so that fans can build up their personal collection at reduced cost but for professionals to build up their working collection.

I guess I'd better take cover now

I didn't get a mac discount but I work on a mac consession and I got my normal 17% off the Dame Edna Trio and two pairs of lashes and the lipgloss. I wonder if this was only in certain stores. I really hope we can get d/c on Hello Kitty, I think its really kitsh and I def. want to get the pallette! x

So being a bit disappointed and venting on a makeup, no wait, MAC forum makes me/us ungracious? I think its rather uncouth to assume things about people you don't know on the internet and make implications about them, such as being ungracious. I don't know if you were trying to imply that not everyone should be eligible for the discount, but I will tell you that I do use MAC a lot in my work and recommend it to my clients, who turn around and generally buy at full price (except for models who have le discount). Not that its any of your business.

Jeebus, this is a MAC forum and we were talking about one of the biggest collections MAC has ever done. Is it so unreasonable to be disappointed??
