Really Embarrassing Sex Problems

This is totally normal. My boyfriend has residue like you've described on his penis after we have sex, too, and there's nothing wrong with either of us. When I first noticed it, I thought I might have an yeast infection so I went to get checked out and the doctor said it was probably just hormonal changes, and not to worry about it. I did though, and I started getting less wet and sex got less enjoyable for a while. But my boyfriend was super nice about it and still went down on me even when I felt gross, and now I've gotten over it, and every thing's back to normal. It's amazing how much of this stuff is purely psychological.

Whaaaa? Did a doctor really say that?
Discharge isn't really related to orgasms. Yes, the vagina lubricates itself during arousal, but it's definitely not "come."
Women CAN ejaculate, but it's not from the vagina, it comes out of the urethra, and it's clear and very different from discharge (and pee!

But hey, if it turns you and/or your SO on, then all the more power to ya!
And by the way, if you don't shave and decide to for his sake, I think you should expect full reciprocation

Try getting a little frisky after a fresh shave and shower, and I bet he will have no second thoughts !

Yeah i do shave down there. Not every single day, but I do shave. he likes it either way. he's given me oral when i was shaved or if there was hair, he doesn't care too much (although i think he'd rather it be shaved). He would just tell me if hair was the problem. I'll let him know: "Baby, its kinda hairy" and he likes that sometimes. Thats not the reason though. He was giving me oral alllllllll the time before I had this problem.

Yup...me too! I'm a discharging queen! I'm very moist down there...I always have been...when my boyfriend and I are done having sex, sometimes it looks like a cream filled donut exploded on him... LOL
i shower daily, only wear cotton panties, eat healthy, exercise a few times a week, drink lots of water and no soda/sugary drinks...and I'm still always wet down there. Some women just produce more discharge then others.
It bothered me for a while when I was younger, but I'm 28 now and I just accept it...I don't think it's a big deal afterall.
Just try to explain it's a natural occurance for women, and hopefully your BF and you can overcome the feelings of "dirtyness" together!

I get it too, not everyday but frequently, and it's just your body's way of keeping itself clean. One thing I suggest is to keep a box of wet wipes near the bed. You can wipe yourself and he can go down on you, then you can wipe yourself after you've climaxed. That's what's worked the best for me and my bf because when I'm arroused I discharge ridiculously, and it's not any different from seminal fluids secreting from his penis. He's obviously not willing to be more understanding that it's a body function that must occur and that you can't stop yourself from discharging (or else you'd be asking for a lot of trouble). He's not a medical doctor, so he can't tell you that what doctors are telling you is wrong because he has no idea.

Cut him off, then see how he likes it...

A regular OBGYN knows quite a bit about discharge.'
Your discharge will vary in amounts during the menstrual cycle (more, thicker during ovaulation). It should be like egg white. It's mostly fluid and dead cells. It should have no smell to a vaguely sour milk smell. It should never smell fishy (trichimonas and bacterial vaginosis smell a bit fishy), grapey (pseudomonas smells grape or wine like) or like bread baking (yeast infections). Some infections tend not to change the smell, but do change the color to yellow, green, browm or rusty. Chlamydia doesn't have much of a detectable odor but can ruin your future fertility.
Also, if you have any type of infection you probabley got it from a partner so he needs to be treated (there have been cases where lesbians have passed infections to others but it was from unsanitized toy sharing)

Thanks! The first gynecologist I saw about this told me to stop washing with scented and dyed soap and to stop using fabric softener and scented and dyed laundry detergent. Because all that causes yeast infections. She was wrong in the sense that I didn't have a yeast infection. Now I'm scared to wash my underwear in regular detergent and I'm scared to use scented soap.

Sometimes it has a smell but its not a nasty smell. Its not fishy, or yeasty or grapey at all. And its always white like u described. I don't know if my boyfriend gave it to me....I know he could have no signs and still pass something to me, but as far as I know I don't have any infection. My vagina feels regular LOL, theres just discharge.

You said you're on the pill, right? Or that you have been? Well, anyway, when I first went on the pill I had some issues, and went to a naturopath. She recommended something called acidophilus, which contains a TON of bacteria that helps balance the yeast in your vagina. The balance of good and bad bacteria in the vagina is so sensitive that it can be thrown off by the slightest changes (like having sex, for example). Certain people are more sensitive. So this pill has the same good bacteria you can get from eating yogurt, only in a very concentrated dose. If this problem is a bacterial imbalance, then it should clear it up in a few weeks. This is just a shot in the dark on my part, but it's worth a try!

If you've been to several doctors and they can't find a problem, it probably just you and your hormones. Did you talk to your doctor about the amount if that is a problem?
Discharge is normal to an extent. To ease your fears why don't you ask your boyfriend to get checked out too. He should be willing to get tested when there are so many diseases out there. Could the doctor explain the discharge with your boyfriend present so it doesn't freak him out. Seems like both of you are missing out on no oral sex and can't talk about it very well together.

honestly it sounds normal. i'm on birth control (Aviane) and what birth control does is thicken the mucus in your vagina so that the sperm have a much harder time swimming up and reaching the egg - and in most cases it's so thick that the sperm can't even get that far. i take 3 weeks of active pills and then i'm on placebos for week. for the first two weeks my vagina discharge is clear and really isn't thick. during the third week and approaching my period the mucus really begins to thicken A LOTTT, basically similar to what you're describing. it doesn't have a smell or anything, and it's white.

pay attention to your cycles - even without being on bc, some women experience thickening of the mucus when they ovulate. don't feel like you're dirty because it's your vagina's natural way of cleaning itself out - by getting rid of potential pathogens / foreign bodies, old cells, etc. and if your boyfriend tells you otherwise slap him in the face lol

Im not on birth control. I haven't been in awhile. Ive heard of acidophilus though and I took it for a little while but that was years ago. I should try it again. Thanks! Honestly I think my vagina is just very sensitive, because a lot of the time I feel like a yeast infection is coming on RIGHT after sex. Sex irritates me so much all of a sudden and its still enjoyable I just think my cookie is sensitive lol

i kept asking the doctor if she was sure, lol and she kept stressing that i was fine. its just weird because the discharge came out of nowhere. I broke up with my boyfriend but Im pretty sure he was clean. I had gotten tested and they said nothing was wrong. Like I said there no other symptoms except for discharge and a smell but the smell isnt gross it just smells like a vagina lol. It still annoys me, but no matter what i do it doesnt go away. I am not a dirty person and I wish i could just enjoy sex and oral sex. I feel like even though im clean and this is normal, i feel like a guy will get grossed out if I ask him to give me oral. Because I can smell something there but like I said its not fishy or yeasty...just vagina-smellin. LoL this is so gross of me sorry

i do need to pay more attention to my cycle. I am not on BC. I usually dont notice the discharge unless i have a yeast infection. But even when I dont have an infection, when i have sex....the discharge is all over the guy and the condom.

Most guys IMO are turned on by a woman's juice's and smell. If you are that self conscious go to the restroom before sex and wipe it all away. Not to sound pervy but there are whole porno sites just for this. Sounds like your ex was immature and not familiar with a grown woman's body.

Make sure you pee right after sex, if you are prone to yeast infections i'd wipe myself off with a wet washcloth too. When all else fails give your vagina a rest from all the sex and see what happens. Have you been checked for an allergy to latex?

No. The doctors asked me if I was allergic to condoms but how am I supposed to know? I dont break out or itch from them...they have never actually checked me for an allergy to latex. It would be nice to know...I pee before and after sex and always be sure to clean off. I dunno my body just sucks sometimes lol

honey, your normal. dont even trip. its not contagious and
it wont hurt you or your hubby. you've been tested, youve
been checked so there shouldnt be anything to worry about.
just tell you man that its just "you being you" hehe, its not
like you can tell your vag to stop letting out discharge,
especially when theres nothing wrong. so go on and have all
the sex w out being self conscious.

my boyfriend was fingering me, and i started to bleed. but he kept going. i didn't know i was bleeding. he told me afterwards and i was so embaressed. but he just asked if i was okay or if he hurt me. lol. i'm just glad he wasn't like omgewwwww. that wouldn't made the situation worse. -.- but anyways, i'm sure what you're experiencing is normal. since your doctor says it's just whatever, it should be fine. hopefully your sex life will be back on track soon~

This thread made me think of the Vaginas episode of Midwest Teen Sex Show.

From Womenshealth.gov:

"Is douching safe? - Most doctors and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) suggest that women steer clear of douching. All healthy vaginas contain some bacteria and other organisms called the vaginal flora. The normal acidity of the vagina keeps the amount of bacteria down. But douching can change this delicate balance. This may make a woman more prone to vaginal infections. Plus, douching can spread existing vaginal infections up into the uterus, fallopian tubes, and ovaries."
