Re: The most romantic thing someone's done for you?

I'll share another cute story...

I noticed some blisters on my bf's fingers and I asked how he got them and he just shrugged it off, saying that it's nothing. Well, I didn't think much of it after that, since he does help his dad with cars and such. After a few days, my bf surprised me with a song he wrote for me. Turns out, he got blisters because he's been practicing so much on his guitar. lol. He wanted to be perfect when he performed the song for me. I loved it and thought it what he did was soooo sweet. I love him so much.

It's funny because we met when we were both 14 and are still together. We are 17 now. So much for "teenage love doesn't last."

My boyfriend has done lots of romantic, sweet things, but one that sticks out in my mind is not long after we first started dating, he surprised me one morning at before 8am at home with McDonald's breakfast. I looked tore up too, no makeup, no fixed hair, just rolled out of bed.
And he still told me I looked beautiful, that made my day

He had told me he wanted to buy me a new digital camera, even though my current one worked just fine. He told me he would think about it and a few weeks later, he totally surprised me with it out of the blue in the mall parking lot. I cried as if he had given me an engagement ring, LOL

I was 8 y/o and I had a crush on a boy. He was such a rebel. He had sandy blonde hair that was passed his shoulders and wore cute jeans that showed he wore no underwear. I gave him a note in class that I thought he was cute. He surprised me by finding out where I lived that day and walked 4 blocks to see me in the pouring rain. His name was Kurt. He was so cute! We hugged and kissed out in the rain. He told me that his Dad was telling him about bugs and bees. He said that his Dad told him that he had spurs and they get girls to have babies. I told him that spurs must hurt. He said he didn't feel them at all and he didn't know where they were, because he couldn't even seen them. It hit me one day that "spurs" were sperms. I kept thinking of spurs on a boot. I will never forget that day.

Hey, the husband and I started dating in high school...11 years later we're still going strong! Hmm, most romantic - I'd say when he proposed, but that's pretty much a given. I think it's romantic when he's selfless and lets me pick our vacations around the availability of good shopping!

The most romantic thing I've ever done for someone was on Valentine's Day.. we were at a really fancy hotel (@ $400 a night).. and I told my bf.. "I'm thirsty.. can you go buy me a drink down the hall".. even though I had a bottle of Sprite and water everywhere. So he went to go buy me a drink. And I ran around like a crazy lady.. and set up candles everywhere.. and threw rose petals all over the bed. And changed into something more risque. Haha.. I tried to lay down and look seductive.. but I just felt like a fool. So I just sat on the bed.. indian style.. smiling.. when he walked in.. he was SHOCKED. A night I'll definitely never forget.

Re: The most romantic thing someone's done for you?

So, romance and I are not the best of friends. I guess though, that there are two things that sort of stick out for me. When I was younger, I had a good friend that was really, really into me and we lived four hours apart, but he was the biggest sweetheart and he always knew just what to say to make me feel better about myself, but that really has a lot less to do with what he did. He always used to make me a new mixtape when I would come to see him so that I would have something to listen to when I was on the way home. We sort of dated in that way that young teens date and don't do anything much. But, it made me happy.

And this other thing just happened, actually. I guess I really do find myself impressed by the small things. A friend of mine has been spending a lot of time with me lately and we were headed home the other night and I fell down a flight of stairs. He helped me down the stairs and out to the car. (He was my ride home, anyways but..) We've been friends for years, but we'd never really touched before because I'm sort of guarded about that kind of thing. He wound up helping me into my room at home and then we sat up talking for hours. He kept wanting to make sure that I wasn't hurt.

My boyfriend and I have been together for three years now, too! I was 13 when we met, he had just turned 16.

The most romantic thing I've done for my bf is paid a vacation for the both of us to Paris. I booked flights, hotel, and we spent a week there one summer. It was great!

When I was in highschool I didn't have a lot of money, so I would make things for my ex-bf. Like one time I collected a bunch of interesting shaped rocks from the beach, all the size of one's palm, and I painted them entirely with acrylic paint. (I used to be very artsy.) Then I drew these strange curvy figures of them representing people, and on the back I painted words like "love", "trust", "friendship" and stuff, then I signed both of our names on it. It seems kinda silly but I placed them one night under his pillow and he found them later and was really happy.

Another time I put together a handcrafted album with poetry and drawings, and pictures of us.

And the jerk never did anything like that back for me. He even forgot my bday once! Oh well, guess that's why he's an ex!!!

My exboyfriend, whom we still talk... "right thing wrong time", took me out for dinner and movies (how typical) for Valentines Day like 3 years ago. I always leave my door locked, so he had my sisters help him out... but when I unlocked my bedroom door, there were roses all over the bed and floor, and a trail of kisses to my bed... and candy all over the floor. Now, I knew my sister had something to do with it.. because right when she heard me open the door she ran in and started picking up all the candy off the ground (LOL). On my bed was a basket of goodies-- lotions, pajamas, DVDs, popcorn, candy, roses, etc. etc... things for a movie night. Really didn't watch the movie... heck I don't even know what it was

... Oh yeah.. and the first thing I said when I saw the rose petals everywhere was, "Who is going to clean up this mess?!??!" the next Valentines day he bought my sister a bunch of the candy she picked up (Mr. Goodbar?) He's a sweetie

I was in the hospital for three weeks in October because of a severe infection in my right hand. My boyfriend stayed with me whenever he wasn't in class, sleeping on the cot in the room at night, having meals with me, and just being there. I found that increadibly romantic.

Re: The most romantic thing someone's done for you?

My fiance is amazing. He is a wonderfully sweet and thoughtful guy who doesn't mind being dragged around the mall from store to store, makeup counter to makeup counter. We're poor college students so we're pretty broke most of the time, but whenever he has spending money he buys me flowers or an eyeshadow or something. XD

But the most romantic thing he's ever done? I think it was last summer, we were both working a lot. I was working about 35 hrs a week and taking two classes. And he was working like 65 hours a week as a chef and averaged one day off per week (if he was lucky). So one day I actually worked a twelve hour shift during his one day off (figures). When I left in the morning I was so stressed because the apartment was a mess and I needed to do laundry and etc. So, I work a 12 hour shift, get home around 10, and the apartment is spotless. All the laundry is done and folded and put away. There are clean towels and my bathrobe folded up next to the tub in the bathroom and candles lit. Every dish is done, the floors are vacuumed, and last but not least, my favorite dinner and a glass of wine are sitting on the table right next to the comfy recliner in our living room. And on his day off! And I think the nicest thing was that he wasn't trying to seduce me and didn't expect anything as far as the bedroom goes (because I was SO tired). He honestly just wanted me to be comfortable and happy after my long day.

Sorry that was so long!

Oh geez, we're just supposed to share one? Hard to choose the MOST romantic experience .... One that really stands out in my mind was with a guy I dated a few years ago. We had only been dating for a couple of months when he kissed me goodbye just as he was packing to go on a business trip.

That kiss lasted for over an hour and was one of the most sensual experiences I've ever had with all my clothes on!

We stood there in his living room kissing and kissing and I literally felt the earth move! When we finally pulled ourselves apart, he looked into my eyes and he asked me if I was ready to make a commitment to him and not date anyone else. I was so weak in the knee I can't remember what I said, but we dated for about a year and the first time we had sex after his trip was explosive! That kiss told me he would be very, very good....

My boyfriend's phone can only store 30 text messages (It's a razr, how whack right?) so he writes down all the text messages on a piece of paper by hand and then transfers them to his computer when he has time.

He also writes all his plans for everything on folded up pieces of paper, and I find them sometimes when he drops them - I found the one for his Valentine's day plans on my driveway! Too cute (IMHO)

aww. i think it's totally cute. it means he loooooves you
