Tom Ford Beauty Discussion

I got this at NM
I don't have a Tom Ford counter in my state as far as I know. I was at a NM in Atlanta in March and they didn't have any, they did offer for me to try it on or get a sample of any other foundation so... idk. Even the Nordstrom in Mall of America doesn't have one. There's a new Nordstrom opening up in October near me.... so they BETTER have TF counter!

If you can get a hold of some of those little sample jars, take them and ask them to make you a sample. Once I was at Saks and they were willing to give me a sample of something I was looking at but they didn't have/never have any containers.
I usually always carry sample jars with me, but I was travelling and didn't have any in my purse. They offered a sample of anything else, so they must have had some kinds of jars, maybe they didn't have ones for TF specifically idk. Or just didn't want to give a sample of it.

The Alabaster shade is for those who are a Mac NW10 or lighter. It is a perfect match for a Pale Pink Casper. The cream shade is too dark for a true Alabaster shade of TF. That is why I avoided the new cream/powder foundation since it "cream" color. Then the manager of a TF store showed me the actual guidelines from TF corporate and it clearly explained the "cream" in the liquid foundation that came out is not the same color as the "cream" in the cream/powder foundation just released. She put both on me, and the liquid is much darker. My Mom is truly a super pale Pink Casper and Alabaster is a perfect match for her. I hope this helps.
This is why I gave mention of the other foundation. I'm genuinely too pale for anything from Tom Ford and I'm not mixing it with it with white so when I saw Cream again, I thought I'd give a run down of the colors and what I went through. I am seriously truthfully an N 0-2 if that existed. My foundations are made for me or I custom blend RCMA. Casper is white, no undertones. If there is undertone, and it's pink, you'll need to find Fawn as it has more pink but these colors aren't covered by TF, not even the Alabaster stick is pale enough, but can be made to work. You can check out Rachel Anise's blog, the BeautyProfessor as she swatches everything and likens them to MAC terms to help out those who can't get to a counter. If you'd like to see my skin color, yes it's real, look up meow cosmetics Snow Lynx and Inquisitive Chartreux. Those two must be mixed for me to match. That's how pale I am. I'm not w/pink undertones, yellow, or neutral, more like without undertones, it exists, but the closet I pull is a very cool olive or blue. I must mix clear, porcelain and KA1 in RCMA to match me. I'm sorry if I was not clear enough but I would not answer if I didn't think I could help. I'm sorry. Please google that site for further accurate information if my personal experience isn't plausible as There are beautiful options in TF, but his colors aren't the same in each formula but that doesn't mean you can't make it work. The contour duos have a lighter side you can use! If you are a pink colored Casper, I highly recommend By Terry Cover Expert in 1 fair, and the By Terry Terrybly Densiliss foundation in 1 & 2 to mix. Cle De Peau B10 is the fairest pink offering they have and that may adjust depending how light you are, the i10 is the lightest but still too dark for me. Koh Gen Do Maifanshi Moisture foundation in 01 is the greatest true very pale pink that blends like a dream, 12 is a bit more beigey but still pink. In their Aqua foundation, you can get 12 and the White highlighter, which has no shimmer and was intended to be mixed with the Awua foundations, to lighten it and that works seamlessly also. Fans I know of the TF Traceless Perfecting are switching to Marc Jacob's reMARCAble serum foundation as it is similar w/ better coverage and dry down. Again I have no match. Some Casper pinks like 10, others can't find one with enough pink that's still pale enough, and then there's MUFE HD. I had no success, others have. If you are looking for a beautiful powder foundation, and you are a Casper Pink, I'd definately suggest to try the new Koh Gen Doh Silky Moist Compact Powder/Foundation in the shade 12. These are also available as swatches on that site I mentioned. Coverage is great. The powder can be used multiple ways and looks great on. Good luck in your search! :) I hope that's a bit more helpful with my references.

I'm quite pale, but not like you, I understand how hard it is to find a match. Have you tried the new Nars all day luminous foundation in Siberia?

You need to notify the Pentagon-----jeans in your area are way to aggressive
lol.gif
They could issue you a protective drone so these things don't happen when you go out!

I so know about things following you home. I just tell my Daddy they fell into the bag. Or when my brother and I are together and go grocery shopping with Mama, to this day. We will hid stuff in the cart, then distract her as they are being placed on the counter. Then when we get home, she looks at both of us, and asks "how did the Fluff" get here????

My daughter used to do that to me---I pretended not to notice. I actually got a kick out of it.

When I was little the only foundation my Mom was able to use due to her pale pink skin was the custom made Perceptives or something like that. We had to go downtown Chicago for it. Then they went out of business. My Mom has found luck with Dior Nude, the new one that is 010. The TF translucent powder in yellow made my Mom look like she has advanced liver disease. The new pink is good. But she really like the YSL Souffle loose powder pink one. As well as the weird stuff from YSL that is like a gel and pink. Put it must be patted on lightly. No rubbing for that baby. Here is a pic of her with TF Alabaster. Hope this helps.

When my Mom wears TF Alabaster, it is breath taking on her. She also uses the Alabaster pressed powder to set it.

Thank you for your compassion and suggestion! Yes.. It's way too dark and yellow, Mont Blanc too dark and pink. Dark girls and pale pale girls are overlooked too often. The most pale can use a white mixer which can be found pretty cheap but no drugstore options really for any at both ends of the spectrum until you hit Luxury brands. My heart goes out to everyone struggling with shade and undertone. This is not a light/medium world until everyone mingles together, lol, so why not? The funds and testing are there, so surely these can be formulated. They are getting better for the ebony blessed, I must say. Finally. I envy deep skin. Everything looks amazing on that base. Eyeshadows, highlight.. Ebony envy. :)
