1. Love of the art. Anybody who says makeup is not art is lying-it is. My face is the canvas, makeup is the paint, and it's about trying new looks and stepping out of your comfort zone.
2. The value. I will only use high-end cosmetics, however MAC gets you the best value for the dollar, plus when I finish 6 products it's B2M time.
3. The LE factor. I hate the feeling of knowing I can buy something and then missing out on it. One big thing was Lovestone MES. I didn't buy ANY MAC for a good 6 months, and then I go into the MAC store one day and well, you'll read later. But the different sorts of colours that are fairly unique that come out with the LE collections is a huge lure for me.
4. A visit to the MAC store. The first time I ever went to a freestanding, I was looking around at pigments and the girl ended up doing a look on me with them, and then I went back later for more...and the rest is history. At that point it became about building my collection with stuff I would actually use, not stuff to get a GWP at other counters.
5. The whole image. I would be a liar if I said I didn't buy into MAC for the image, because I do. The MAC consumer is generally hipper, more aware of trends, and willing to take risks and I definitely buy into that. In a world of neutrals, somebody has to rock the blues, yellows, greens, you name its.
6. Sites like this...but in a way it also helps keep me from overbuying because I can hear reviews and see swatches, to cut through the crap as they say.
