What fuels your addiction to MAC?

My MAC addiction is getting out of hand. I have gone to MAC like five times in the past two months. That's ridiculous. I have stopped looking at the "Hauls" forum because that kinda fuels my addiction and I think I must have that and that and thaaaaaaaaaat! So, I'm trying to tell myself that I have all I need and that I don't need to go back until I need something that I have run out on. Although, I don't consider it bad to go to my CCO once a week and buy like one or two things... its like $20 so its not that much. LOL.

All you have to do is say MAC to me and that fuels my addiction. I have to have all the collections because I am seriously addicted to MAC. I see myself as a collector and it is an addiction.

1. Love of the art. Anybody who says makeup is not art is lying-it is. My face is the canvas, makeup is the paint, and it's about trying new looks and stepping out of your comfort zone.

2. The value. I will only use high-end cosmetics, however MAC gets you the best value for the dollar, plus when I finish 6 products it's B2M time.

3. The LE factor. I hate the feeling of knowing I can buy something and then missing out on it. One big thing was Lovestone MES. I didn't buy ANY MAC for a good 6 months, and then I go into the MAC store one day and well, you'll read later. But the different sorts of colours that are fairly unique that come out with the LE collections is a huge lure for me.

4. A visit to the MAC store. The first time I ever went to a freestanding, I was looking around at pigments and the girl ended up doing a look on me with them, and then I went back later for more...and the rest is history. At that point it became about building my collection with stuff I would actually use, not stuff to get a GWP at other counters.

5. The whole image. I would be a liar if I said I didn't buy into MAC for the image, because I do. The MAC consumer is generally hipper, more aware of trends, and willing to take risks and I definitely buy into that. In a world of neutrals, somebody has to rock the blues, yellows, greens, you name its.

6. Sites like this...but in a way it also helps keep me from overbuying because I can hear reviews and see swatches, to cut through the crap as they say.

and that was because every day i had a different shade on.(not to mention i am one of the few to wear blue e/s)
Mac fuels my fantasy and creativity when i think of all the color combinations i can try but the truth is that Mac does have better quality than most brands and its artistic so mac helps me express more who i am !i

Make Up is just another creative outlet for me. MAC is just the only product which has stunning colour pay off, LASTS all day! and is so inspiring with its products. I love how much different stuff they come out with like the pigments, the fluidlines, the paints...etc.

The LE factor really sucks me in sometimes too which is a bit of a bitch. Thanks to Specktra I can budget a bit more having seen all the collections for months before they come out.

Also Specktra REALLY fuels the enthusiasm! I love looking at the FOTDs and seeing what other people have done, its really inspiring. And of course makes you go mad to get a certain colour they've used. Also its great to chat to other people who share my passion for make up, none of my mates are all that into it. Although neither was I until about a year ago!

I love the variety of colours. I love the quality. I love the fact that I can actually access it locally (there's not a whole lot of selection for high end cosmetics here). I love that most of MAC's products don't wildly change colours due to my body chemistry as some others' do. I love that I can change my appearance significantly every single day. I love that it allows me to play with wild colours without destroying my hair. MAC always fits (unlike clothes, shoes, etc, and I too have a nickel allergy making much jewelry problematic).

It's my happy thing.

Color!! Mac's range of colors is amazing and works very well with my complexion. I also have to say value because you get excellent products at affordable prices.

I love that people wear blue e/s consistantly w/ MAC.. I never ever ever did because I always was afraid of looking like MiMi from Drew Carey show LOL! Now yesterday I wore Climate Blue, Parrot, and a lil Cool Heat to work and I got SO MANY compliments on my eyeshadow... even from guys! Mac makes me feel like I can pull off looks Ive always wanted to do confidently without looking..dumb.

for me, its an escape. I have a 3 month old and aside from taking care of him and working, i do... NOTHING. EXCEPT spend hours looking @ this website and MAC's website... It makes me feel like even though im a 21 year old mom.. I'm still a 21 year old.. I still look pretty, and I can still turn heads.... MAC makes me feel confident and the addiction to buying and buying and buying gives me a goal- I waitress so I love going to work saying "okay I need to make $70 for bills and anything over that is going towards MAC..." Then coming home and fueling my addiction after a long day on the job! :p

Specktra definately fuels my addiction to MAC. Just when I feel like its cooling down I come on this site and it starts up again. All the hype about new collections gets me super excited and I feel like I actually NEED all this stuff lol It's pretty bad. My boyfriend is like "Heather, you don't really need something from EVERY collection...." Oh, but I do!!!

For me it's the range of colours for lighters skinned girls. Other brands seem to stop at "light" which on me look dark (my skin is lighter than NW15). I love the nude lip look but can only get it with ultra light colours and MAC has these. For example I looove 2N lipstick - on most people I'm assuming it wouldn't look so hot, but it gives me the right nude look, along with many of their lighter lip sticks and glosses. I never used to have a choice in lip colours, if I found a light enough one it was the find of the century for me. I love having choices!

I also love the quality, the choice of colours in general (ie shadows, liners), the fact that is doesn't irritate my ultra sensitive skin and the packaging (I'm a graphic designer, packaging matters!). I find it really easy and fun to just go to one place and do one major haul... although I still buy other stuff (the foundation is too dark for me so I use Laura Mercier)... is that enough reasons? :p

it's the packaging. i like to have my make up organized, i can store my mac in palettes or quads and they look very neat. i like the consistency of the packaging -except the le trios and palettes- i know that if i buy something from mac, it will fit right in. i got rid of my other palettes as they "messed up" my traincase lol.
and of course, it's also the colors and the quality, but we all know that!

Spectra and youtube fuel my curiosity and awareness of LE collections. I am only recently completely mac crazy. I think I've droped $1000 in the last 2 months (makeup, brushes, skincare). ehhh, yeah. But I've been obsessed with makeup for years!!! The perfect foundation, the best lip, the perfect lashes.
I'm very fair (once I cover the blotchiness)- so my skin really shows the nuances in the differences between colors, textures, etc. MAC keeps tweaking what could be mundane and always the same. I can create my own palettes. It's reasonably priced. Not as inexpensive as drugstore - but much higher quality.

Also, makeup always fits... you can't say the same for clothes.

I also felt less than stunning growing up. I really do not like how I look without makeup. I feel gross my face flushed and blotchy red, my invisible lashes. My obsession with makeup is my struggle to look and in turn feel my best. Even skin, dark lashes, filled in brows, flushed cheeks, sheer lip color... gorgeous. It's that constant search for the perfect products and they've got new ones to try every few weeks.

It started with lipglosses and went to eyeshadows..and well the rest in history. I'm hooked, especially when I see a really nice FOTD or new eyecolor. I can't help myself! LOL!!

My addiction to makeup (not only MAC) is fueled by this website, Youtube videos, pictures of great makeup in fashion magazines or online....and my own need to have an outlet for my creativity. I think marketing and advertisement for brands plays a very, very small, or almost inexitant direct role in my purchases. I get almost all my makeup infos from other people using makeup, or from random pics I see online.

I think the biggest thing for me is the LE factor. I feel a need to grab something before it's sold out. I hate that lol. The thing I hate even more though is when I don't even look at something when it's out then months later I decide I want it and can't get it anymore.

I've been good and haven't bought much from collections since Fafi and I didn't think I'd want anything for awhile but now they're releasing so much stuff this week and I need to figure out if it's stuff I'll want and use before it all gets sold out.

Oh and I keep buying too for reasons like everyone else said, quality, variety of colors, etc.
