all this talk of the cooling powder has given me a lemming!

So of course I had to buy stuff (oh darn!), but they were out of She Who Dares MES (actual darn!). I picked up Her Own Devices since you ladies have been raving about it. I feel kind of badass wearing it today, but I think it may need a highlight. Jury's still out. I also picked up the Magenta l/l to go with my Violetta. I'll have to keep my ear to the ground for restocked SWD.

do you have any pics?????? that sounds fab!

Arthur Barnett in Dunedin is hit or miss; I used to go in there on Thursdays when collections were released and sometimes stuff would already be gone when I got there at 3PM. But then again, really popular things like the Spiced Chocolate quad were there forever
shrugs.gif
ITA, your chances are much better on the South Island; I wouldn't hold my breath for Auckland or Wellington.

I'm contemplating the differences between BoA + Hipness and Oh So Fair + Alpha Girl..

A lot of people said that if you have Hipness you don't really need BoA as there is very little difference.. I already own Hipness and honestly I don't even use it much..

Same thing with Alpha Girl.. I got it primarily for the packaging.. I hardly use it because it needs a lot of work to show up (Im NC20/25) and it tends to look chalky..

Any advice? Which is worth getting, which to skip?

i own hipness and barely use it, i had this same dilema, but i prefer the look bite of an apple gives me to hipness, its less pink, more red, and the pigmentation isnt as strong so it looks quite natural, i now want to give hipness to my sister

I have Hipness and BoA and BoA is brighter and more red. I don't think they are similar. I don't own Alpha Girl but i do have Oh So Fair and it is very pigmented for a beauty powder. I don't have to work hard to make it show up and i'm NC15. HTH

I don't have ricepaper. I have creme de miel, but even if sweet joy and creme de miel are close, that will be all right (my rationalization at work.... ) I use creme de miel a LOT. I have been using De-Vil and Vainglorious so much together the last several days, along with Creme de miel. I'm loving that combination SO much.

I'm a sucker for free second day shipping and it's ending in just a little bit, I kinda panicked.

Well do me favor then please ....
greengrin.gif
. Can you swatch both of Sweet Joy and Creme De Miel when your shipment arrives? I'm not in a position to spend the extra money on SJ so I'd like to know if it's close. Also it's said Dream maker is similar. I am wondering what else Vainglorious is close to. I think the M/A may have used some of that on me too but not sure.

My favourites are Innocence,Beware!, Devilishly Stylish, Formidable!, Darkly My Dear and Her Own Devices.

Runners Up Revenge Is Sweet, De-Vil, Vainglorious

I haven't yet tried Strange Potion.

I just did my nails with Formidable! and it is beyond gorgeous! It's amazing! Mac has really improved their nailpolish formula, I had no problems with this. Two coats and it's fully opaque. Now I need to get Bad Fairy too.

And I'm so glad I went back for HOD, damn it's great!!!

Perfect, I absolutely LOVE it!

I'm really impressed with the neutral-coloured products in this collection, they are the winners for me. I thought it was going to be all about the brights and darks in VV, but I found some staple neutrals instead. I'm really happy, I feel like those were made for me!

I didn't get a ton of stuff from this one but my favorite is definitely BoA blush. Love how it looks on. I love the name. The only way it could be better is if it had cooler packaging

Star Violet is similar, but different to Vainglorious... less metallic than Vainglorious. I have only seen the swatches here. Vainglorious has not the same finish. I've really been wanting a color like this for crease or outerlid. (but again, I don't have Cranberry, or Star Violet...).
Was it you that just sold your Spiced Chocolate quad? I was just comparing Sweet Chestnut to Vainglorious. Right now, I have no make up on other than one lid Vainglorious, one lid Sweet Chestnut. The look is sexay I tell you!
heat.gif

Please, nobody come to my door before I can wash my face!
th_roll1.gif

Honestly, the difference in finish (Vainglorious is smoother on my lid) is enough for me to warrant having both... but, if you didn't like Sweet Chestnut that much, you probably wouldn't like Vainglorious.
Well, this was more than you asked! lol

This is HARD! I really have so many favorites!

Favorite: Her Own Devices...and Toxic Tale... and Innocence, Beware!
Runners Up: Resort Life

, DMD, Truth and Light, Dark Deed,

and Formidible!

And ask me on a different day, in a different mood, and I'll tell you Briar Rose and Violetta.
I have more favorites in this collection than I've had in a while, of colors that look good ON, not just swatched, and colors and products that are fun!

Yes it was me that sold the Spiced Choco quad but because I didnt like Brash. I would say that Brash was like a copper lame' on me.....not pretty at all when you have lids that are wrinkly. I dont recall it looking like that on me when I owned it initially when it came out.

I have Cranberry though but not Star Violet. In Erinne's watches Star Violet looks more metallic to me though. With your two different eyes you're doing a Kat Von D look
tong.gif
Also I have Heritage Rouge which I think is somewhat similar to Cranberry.....wonder if it's close to Vainglorious??

Re: MAC - Venomous Villains discussion

Well right now I'm not too tickled with Strange Potion l/g.

It's the only thing I purchased I'm not completely happy with.

IMHO, it's not that unique. In fact, it kinda looks like Jazzed l/s.

I am, however having a wonderful time wearing Toxic Tale but not with SP l/g.

Yesterday I wore SP l/g with Chestnut l/p and FOF l/g on top.

How is everyone else wearing it?

Hey ladies, which was your favorite villain-themed collection? I'm just referring to product colors here and nothing else.

I personally loved the Cruella collection.
