The Ice Dream trend shall be restricted to my nails unless I spot a perfect pale lilac shadow.

I like fun colours of liner:) I hope MAC does some new Fluidlines in collections beyond the Mickey one. Metallic ones would be great and more shades of brown because Dipdown is really boring.

Any rumours of new brushes? The flawless skin trend seems like it could use some new brushes. I've been using more emollient products lately and I think the MAC brush offerings could use some expansion in synthetics.

I'd love a sort of taupey brown colour (like sweet sienna pigment....but in a fluidline :D:D:D)

Thanks Katred -- that was a great review ! I have been observing these trends for some time but from this last trip found the following which to me were really inspiring and doable for many for Spring/Summer 2011:

Eyes: yellow liner, orange liner (amazing), green, silver, gold, cobalt, bright purple, turquoise -- oh yes, lots of colour in liners -- obviously these will define the eyes but the eye itself will be very very neutral not a parrot type colouration. Dark smokey black eyes are a bit outre, but will be seen with more matte lips not the KimK nude glossy lips (sorry for all who love KimK). Smokey will be greens, blues, purples -- deep dark and rich paired with a nude matte lip.

the skin is supposed to be flawless with soft contouring in light shades of browns/beiges (yes some are doing it with foundation/cream contour) but I still prefer colours like Bone Beige or light sculpting blush. Blush is bright for the nude lips, inversely Beige/Brownish bronze for bright lips....

Nude lips -- flocked but not glossy..reminds me of Monica Bertolucci.. lol. Bright lips, like magenta, fuschia, orange very very important... reds -- yawn, left behind with winter weather

powder lipstick

yes, powder ! I will post some to show prob by Thursday if I have time. These lips can also be achieved with your regular ls, and bright pigments or blush on top.

beiges, browns, nudes -- for eyes with pops of bright lips.. or inversely bright eyes and nude lips look awesome for spring.

the WW colours for cheeks and lips will be spot on !!

Hm, I'm very curious to see if these could work without being very drying. Thanks for the update, HG, it's always great to have you back to let us in on the secret work at Mac's Muppet Labs.

I was watching Wendy Williams and Nicki Minaj was on. She confirmed that the Pink Friday lipstick is coming out. Wendy gave a lipstick to everyone in the audience. It looks like the Gaga lipstick but a bit darker, and GORGEOUS. I wish we had a release date! But it has to be soon because they already showed it right?

Oh But I'm excited about the new pink lippie even though I've never heard of what's her name.

I love pink l/s.

I'm so happy I stumbled on GABT, PN, Gaga, Saint Germain, ILILT, etc.

I think I own more MAC pinks than any other shade!

The new ls look like a powder and are like a pot of jello lol.. they are dry to the touch but disperse colour immediately... one bonus of this new type of technology is that it is very longwearing and non drying... that is why I am in love.

I'll be getting the Pink Friday lipstick since it sounds pretty (if it's available that is) and these new trends sound amazing HerGreyness!

That's what I've been doing for the past month. Flawless skin, brown/nude eye with super defined eyes. Then I play with the blushes, from bright pinks to peach to nude-ish glow.

As soon as you told us my flocked lip fantasies would be a reality months ago, I started wondering what the heck sort of delivery method a product like that would have to use to give a finish like that without being a drying mess. I should have figured it'd be another wacky texture taken from other industries and applications, like those Dare To Wear glosses that are the same texture as prescription burn cream I had to get some years back.

Next time I want to get ideas for makeup trends, I should just take a trip to the pharmacy ointment aisle or maybe look through a catalog for industrial resins and injection molding. I just hope I don't start imagining what Preparation H would be like if only it was a lovely shade of metallic magenta

This powder/jelly lipstick is something I really gotta see!

As for Preparation H, it already has a cosmetic use - for depuffing under eyes, and for tightening up skin to reduce facial lines.

Oh, and I have no idea who Nicki Minaj is

Nice. So this fall we got a powder that feels wet and in 2011, we're getting a jelly that feels dry. I'm so confused...
girlhaha.gif

Seriously, I'm looking forward to seeing the new technology that they come up with. The innovations seem to have been great from this year- DtW lipglass and PLW foundation. I'm into anything that has a good colour payoff and is not drying. I'm always working in offices that are dry as sand and it seems like I always have to choose between dry, cracked lips with colour and soft, supple lips with a light gloss.
