You know, I was thinking that it wasn't even Coquette when I looked at it in Nordies when I didn't like it - I bet someone sat a different tube in Coquette's
spot - because it didn't look anything like the one I got. Being an old lady, I cant read the bottom of the tubes
ssad.gif

I have Sari Dore - is that the one? Its quite colorful but I love it.

I got a few samples of the new foundation. It did not seem light enough for me. I will try them on my face today. I cannot believe it - with all the swatching I did, I forgot about Cashmere aggh

The clinique chubbies are soothing & sheer but have enough color. I love them for no makeup days. Cherry is a pretty red red, Watermelon - a light med pinky pink, Strawberry is a rosier darker pink red. We do think alike uh oh

^^ Glad you're back, Elegant, and glad to hear that it was a wonderful time for your family, and an exciting shopping excursion for you!! The belt and necklace I'm sure are stunning! And, I'm glad you're liking Coquette!

I just got my March Allure - there are Chanel product placements all over the place (Mimosa, one of the RC Shines, an RC called Venise - I don't remember that one, and a couple of others) - looks like they're dropping a lot of bucks for that. Very few of MAC at all.

I have been on the Sephora site snooping around - have a couple of the Clinique chubby gloss sticks in my cart (great minds think alike, don't they? We always seem to be on the same wavelength!!) - Strawberry and Fuller Fig, along with a Tarino Tarantino brush set that I may end up getting.....I love brushes.

I am headed for brunch later with the Wildman from the Argentine later.. and that will be it, until we meet again

I like him as a friend, we have lots in common (he was divorced twice.. I have been widowed twice).. and has no gf's at present (well, I won't bet my last wooden nickel on that). But he says he is not interested in dating 25 year olds which is the style for most 50 year old men...lol. They get bamboozeled by young flesh.. and then they sit and talk about nothing until they can hook her up
girlhaha.gif

anyway.. I am plotting my ls strategy for today... I think I will work around my Secret ls.. which is nude plummy... and work from that for my face.

young flesh =

true though

Saks said they stopped carrying Dior because it doesn't sell well.

10 days

Here's what the belt looks like. Can also be worn knotted as a necklace ;) It has large med & small CCs with a hook under the large one.

^^ Very chic! I love how they look gorgeous both at the waist or as necklace! It's annoying that they put another tube instead of Coquette, it just confuses customers. At least you got Coquette in the end, thanks to specktra. :)

very pretty Elegant.. wear it and enjoy.

My Chanel belts are old classics, but they weigh an arm and a leg.. lol. So, hard to wear around the neck.. duh.

msqqq.. how are you doing with the whitening products? I made a typo yesterday and posted that I was using Hydro Quinone in my night cream, I mean to type Hyonaluric Acid. That said, you can also put Retonic acid into night creams and lighten up some spots.

Got my face on.. lol. I did a plummy eye, with MAC's Feline quad, and then more emphasis with Magic night.. PE on the cheeks with some PA for contour and depth, and Secret on my lips.. I kissed the mirror again.. besides I am way hungry -- I do hate brunches
ohboy.gif

oh, wearing a lovely pale blue linen dress with teeny tiny flowers of some pinky flowers.. with a soft cotton cardingan in light fuschia..

Aah, that's really nice.
I am picturing it worn in a combination with a slightly loose, light/silky kind of material, plain coloured top dark blue or black that comes just down to mid-thigh length.
But then again, I'm fairly conservative, when it comes to dressy clothes :)

I have been sitting in bed all morning thinking of ways to wear it. I will wear it as a necklace with a plain T shirt & grey or navy crop pants, as a jacket belt, cardigan belt. It has a very timeless classic feel which I why I loved it so much.

For the dark spots - I only have 1 slight very old acne kinda scar & It has become waaaay lighter since I started using that Philosophy Help Me & Clear Day with retinol. I am still very happy with the over-all skin results. Oh & the KS CytoCell with it.

The Pool Boy has been bringing me oj & coffee...

Well, I just tried the new Chanel foundation & it is just lovely! Light coverage, but its like a glowy matte, very very very silky velvety soft feel & it feels like you are wearing nothing. Very natural looking. I even used it under my eyes with no concealer & it looked so soft & pretty. The smell is so soft & DIVINE! I LOVE the smell of it. I used the B10 Beige Pastel & it was perfect. They told me that was the lightest shade. I was going to say that a better description of it would be that it just evens the look of the skin tone - then I read the folder they put my samples in & that is exactly how Chanel describes it. Its wonderful.

Anyone get their Joyeuse ls yet?

Elena -- yes, I hope to travel outside the US soon. We travel quite a bit within the U.S. -- places like New York, California, Florida, and my fave -- Hawaii. But I really want to go to Europe one day! You're right -- it does get harder with kids when traveling! I hope you get to take a road trip here some day, too :)

Cheryl -- I think I will be getting the translucent La Mer powder then. I'll have to order it online, of course! But if you are loving it -- I know I will too
heart.gif

I need to get some of the MAC palettes -- I have over 60 shadows in the pots. I need to depot them, but I am afraid to. Do you depot, or have you been buying the shadows without the pots??

HG -- I hope your work trip goes well. I can't wait to hear about your next date with the Argentine! Your look sounds lovely.

Elegant -- love the belt. Gotta love the interlocking C's!!

Did someone already swatch Joyeuse? Now I feel like I am really missing out!

Spektra just ate my lengthy post. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Michelle, yes, I depot using the hair dryer method - it works quite well - let me know if you want me to PM my method to you....

Elegant, lovely belt! Tres chic!

HG, safe travels and hope you enjoyed your brunch - your outfit sounds perfectly lovely.

I won't bore you with my thoughts on what I picked up while shopping today - I'm so annoyed with Spektra right now I can't see straight.....but here's a quick jot-down:

  1. BB Rich Lipcolors: Lilac, Rose Blossom
  2. NARS Tonkin
  3. MUFE Lab Shine Metal gloss in M14 (pinky coral)
  4. Kat Von D. High Voltage eye primer in Stellar
  5. B/u of Flaunting It
  6. MAC Prolongwear Lipcream in Prolong and Till Tomorrow, though I don't know if I will keep these
  7. Tarina Tarantino Floriculture Eye Shadow Palette
  8. Samples of La Mer and Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua foundations
  9. Also swatched the new MAC Sheen Supremes....they're fabulous. I have a list of about 6 that I want, but am in no hurry to get them.

That's it for now - commentary later after I finish being mad a Spektra ;).

I wrote down a list of 7 Mac SS

I got that Saks bag with the goodies & in it was a La Prairie cellular contour eye cream (since we are all looking for the perfect eye cream) so far it is quite nice, reflective, softens the look around the eye, but in some lighting it looks just a tad too 'wet' looking even though its dry.

Please tell us what you think of the new Chanel foundation (not typing the name ;)

C - its all good

Michelle doll - I took pics & swatches of Joyeuse - should be in the Chanel ls thread. Missqq did a comparison shot in this thread I think.

Now you're making me want to try this foundation... I'll need a light one that just kind of evens me out for spring/ summer. I love the fact that I categorise this as a "need", like it was food or air or something. But then again, what use are food and air if I don't look fabulous as well?

^^ Katred, it sounds like this is what you might be looking for - decent but not a lot of coverage, light as a feather on - the texture is wild - it feels like nothing going on. The good news is that you can get sample packets of it at the counter, at least you can here.

And what is need, really?

I

I think most of us here would put looking fabulous right up there with the need for air and water......I know I do!

We all have those 'needs'

I agree with Shypo - this just may be what you're looking for. She's right, its light coverage, but makes the skin look even & very smooth. I LOVE the smell of it big time. Also, it may even have a waterproof/resistant finish. When I went to rinse it off of my finger after applying it, the water beaded up on the skin where it was. It gives a beautiful natural satiny matte finish.Perfect for a spring/summer foundation. I really like the fact that I cannot feel it on as thats why I stopped wearing foundation.

The new foundation held up beautifully.. thru the morning when applied, a dog walk, drinks by the beach, lunch (we skipped brunch cause it was too late..lol) and more walking -- even a brief visit to Neimans.

I think that may be because of the high alcohol content.

Winthrop, it has alcohol.. If someone has very dry skin, I would avoid it unless really well moisturized.

I'm not too worried about the alcohol in terms of dryness (just because I do moisturize well and I'd call my skin normal), but more because of my rosacea. But the other thing that's way up there in this foundation is silicones, which my skin loves....so we'll see which wins out when I try it! lol
