I've been off of my MAC LE hunt for a good 3 years now and when it was on it wreaked havoc on my budget! But as mentioned, Chanel hardly has LE, thankfully!

The good thing is I have a while to settle down on my one treat (or is that to multiply it? =P). We're hoping to make a Buffalo road trip in April with the baby as a small family getaway and I'll be buying my lipstick then. I'd be saving about $10!! =S Oh Canadian prices...and taxes!

Here is "Magnolia" Rouge Coco (I think it was LE, but not positive):

I don't find Jersey Rose too bright -- it is a soft peachy pink on me. Have fun swatching!

I am in desperate need of some new Chanel lippies! Well not really need, but damn I want some! I feel like it's been years since the last collection...why is that?!?

I feel crazy, lol. Anyway...

I can't wait for the RC Shines! I was really disappointed with MAC's Sheen Supreme or whatever they're called lippies so I'm ready to splurge and buy way more RC Shines than I should. That's fair right?

What didn't you like about the Sheen Supremes? I haven't gone to look at them yet.

Ladies, I need to start off by apologizing. I originally told all of you that three of the RC shines were all really similar. Well, after being able to go back and have another look at all of these, it seems that isn't the case. I still feel Aventure and Romance are perhaps too close to each other to own both, but there are noticeable differences in these. I guess the lighting in the other store i was at wasn't the greatest.

Today I bought Chance, which is noticeably lighter than the other two, and I think fairly blue-based. I had Aventure on this morning, and was happy to see that it did provide enough coverage to show up. Problem is though, that this particular shade is a fairly neutral medium-toned colour, so it did darken up on my lips and didn't look anything like how it swatched. It's pretty, turned into a "my lips but pinker" type of shade and has a nice amount of shimmer in it, but it definitely needs a liner. Not sure if it would've been my first choice though. I'm hoping Chance, being a bit lighter, will show up a bit more.

ETA: The staying power on these is not very good at all. Far less than a glossimer.

Thanks Winthrop! The second from the top left, #41 I think was another one that I liked. It was really pale and shimmery, and would be a great throw on colour to lighten the lips a little and add shimmer and shine.

So, my dear...just what is the difference in color between Chance & Romance?

I'm also interested in #58 on the above link shot. It looks lilacy in that pic

Thanks for your review! Bummer about the staying power but I guess that's to be expected with this kind of formula. I'm really thinking these will be perfect for me during the Spring/Summer as the "in my bag all the time" lippie and I don't mind having to reapply as long as they don't set my lips on fire like the MAC ones, lol.

So this year we have:

Chanel Shines
Dior Addict (new Ones)
BB
MAC Sheen
Clinique Chubbies

All somewhat similar. I am really liking the Dior out of all of them. The color stays & stains, they feel so silky smooth on. The colors I got are lovely.

I like the Chanel (Boy). They are more shiny/slippery than the others, don't last as long.

BB are very nice colors, not as smooth or emolliant

Mac Sheens are great colors, but fade fast & are more drying.

Clinique Chubbies are great colors, much more sheer than the others, feels amazing & moisturizing on the lips. The staying power is average.

Boy arrived today, and I LOVE it! The colour is so pretty, I don't really know how to describe it, but it's pretty much like my lips, just a bit more intense, a perfect YLBB colour for me. It has tiny multicolour shimmer in it, but I can't see that in the mirror when it's applied on my lips, it's very subtle. It just looks shiny. The texture feels amazing on my lips, very light and moisturizing. But the lasting power seems to not be very good because of that, I guess. The colour is so flattering, I can imagine that it works for a lot of different skintones. I think it looks very elegant, it gives a very shiny but natural look. I need more Rouge Coco Shines, LOL! I have my eyes on Chance now.

I tried to take some nice pictures of it, just because I love looking at it, hee hee.

I really want to try the Clinique chubbies! Do they have a smell or taste?

My hubby thinks it's hilarious I want a lip product called a chubby, lol.

I know - its a hoot asking for them! They may have a very very slight berry flavor, but it goes away quickly. Nothing really noticeable. I LOVE them. The Watermelon (pink) &Cherry red are my favorites.

Elegant, the Romance is a bit deeper than Chance in tone, and is more of a bright rosy colour. Chance is a paler, more blue based pink, more along the lines of the lady gaga type of pink, but not quite as cool toned and definitely not anywhere near as harsh because it's such a sheer formula.

Elegant, thanks so much for the review of all the new lippies! I think I won't bother for now with BB or MAC's new formula, but you have me intrigued as far as the Dior l/s is concerned? Is it a sheer formula, what is the name of the new range?

Ok, so in other words...I need BOTH of them ;) Romance & Chance

The Dior ls are not too sheer & not heavy - they seem to me like the perfect consistency. I think they are just called Dior Addict - but they are in that bubble color looking tubes. I highly recommend Lt Pink 554. Its a light strawberry/watermeloney color pink. I also got 778 which is a tad deeper berry/red pink. I love how they kinda stain the lips too for longer wear. They are a little pricey @28. The feel awesome on the lips - even as they wear - nothing drying at all.
