Chanel Fall 2011

Ok I broke my 29 days long no buy ( I was supposed to have one month off from the shopping just a day short.. no willpower) Chanel is the one to blame for this.. I got both the blushes topkapi quad from Byzance & all three nail lacquers from fall collection

.. July is going to be a tough month with semi precious & nordies anniversary sp. collections... Buy buy money....

Oops sorry, I meant Etole. <_< There's a definite color difference between the two blogs and their respective swatches. Cafe Makeup's swatch looks similar to beautylookbook's, so I'm guessing that's the true color. Temptalia's looks like a completely different lipstick.

I don't know why I even bother going there (Temptalia) anymore, her swatches are almost always misleading to me. <_<

I literally just got Etole delivered, and on me it looks most like it looks on Sabrina. I like it -- definitely makes my eyes come alive.

Finally got the Topkapi quad. I don't think either of the blushes will work for me, so I passed on those. Will I regret not getting the red lippie??

I did order Rose Ecrin JC. I will order Prelude later when it hits Macy's online because I have a big gift card I need to use up.

I probably won't get my delivery until next Tuesday -- can I stand the wait??


P.S. I am bummed Chanel.com's samples to choose from haven't been the greatest lately!

Oh, the red lippie is AWESOME!! It reminds me of the old old old UD lipcolor called Gash.......oh my, what a great red! I think you can live without it though......maybe.......

Now wasn't this fun, girls? Without all of the insanity of MAC launches! And everyone got what they wanted without having to fret!

Like it looks on Sabrina is the best I can describe it. It's not overly brown or deep at all, it's like a softened red. I also got Ebloui and love it! I agree with you that maybe Plumetis is nothing to write home about....but I think it will look fab with Prelude.

Now I'm thinking about Etole.....I got Plumetis and love it (my lips are not that pigmented) - Etole was pretty but I wasn't wowed, but I was in a hurry.......just when my poor wallet thought I was finished beating it up!!!

Elegant, too bad that Plumetis is 'meh' on you - I bet Etole would look really pretty - very subtle!

I ordered the only thing I wanted, Rouge JC! So excited. Was considering the quad, but the colors swatched just looked too generic to me, and I have so much e/s I'm sure I could dupe it. I hope everyone enjoys their stuff! So glad they offered this online.

I was pleasantly surprised with Rose Ecrin. After I ordered it I had visions of something too dark, but when it came I put it next to my Rose Petale and it is softer, earthier, more natural looking. I am going to save it for fall and used the Rose Petale now, especially when I use bronzer or just want that true rosy look. But I do think you need to take that bold step and buy a red lipstick. Chanel does red so well. I have a lot of lipsticks and I would have to say their reds are by far my favourites. They have cools, warms and neutrals and I know Passion is probably going to be my next one. I have more RC Shines I want, but I am trying to behave myself for a while! And that is going to be very hard!

Hubs said he wanted to take me to a late lunch...& I was like yeah thats sweet, but ya know the Chanel launches online tonight.We thought we were leaving early enough (half hour away) that we would be back for the launch. So I call Chanel on the way home to see & she says yes its up but you cannot order "until later"

Well, I know that won't be so...hubs hears her & says, "I'm flying"...only to see 2 trooper cars right after that

But we made it. He said, Oh, you would've killed me

if you missed it.

Being strong and skipping Byzance entirely.

The Rouge blush looks great as does the Rouge Byzantine l/s, but I know I have a lot of reds in my collection already (I had a red blush and red lip phase -- not at the same time though!). The Or blush and the yellow-gold shade in the quad are not appealing to me, and it does account for 25% of the quad palette so... That's my reasoning for skipping over the collection.

Hope that helped anyone trying to kill some lemmings!!




Side note: I am really trying to quit my crazy shopper's addiction lately, and I think it's working. Totally skipped Bloggers', skipping Semi-precious/GlamGloss/etc., NARS Fall isn't looking great, skipped Chanel Fall (most of what I'm loving is perm, phew!), and Byzance... I am doing so well and trying not to fall off the wagon. Also explains why I'm trying to stay a good distance away from Specktra for a while.

My only recent purchases: NARS Little Darling l/s, Guerlain's orange gloss from summer, and Chanel Graphite n/p because it is going to be freaking amazingly gorgeous as a New Year's Eve nail look. I think the key has been to constantly look through my collection for similarities, and also to evaluate how unique any LE items are. If I think they're super unique, I'll go and buy it. Like the Guerlain gloss -- I tried to look for a perm dupe all over the place for weeks and weeks and didn't find one that came close so I bought it.

Miss hanging out on Specktra, argh! I will live vicariously through your hauls, ladies.

I only bought 3 things from this collection & I am only getting 2 from Mac SP. I've tried to just select a few things.

Our son & his wife both have their birthdays a couple days apart in August but they JUST gave us their birthday lists - modest, but early

Birthdays have always been a big deal in our house. Then it seems like Christmas comes so fast after that. Its like setting money on fire

So yeah, I am trying to be better too.

Well, I did talk endlessly about the Byzance & showed him pictures constantly & lunch was a sweet idea...but I thought I saw him sweating bullets on the way home

I really think you would love RE blush. The Byzance lippie is gorgeous but not really a must unless you love wearing red. But, lightly it is a lovely pinky red.

And I agree Honey should still just hang out with us.

I have been very naughty in other areas -- I have bought myself 5 dresses from Anthro, shoes, accessories . . . my husband said "I liked it better when you were just into the makeup"

(when was that?? I have always loved clothes and shoes as well as makeup). But yes, I am trying to be better on the makeup front and just buy what I will really wear and love!
