April, I'm so glad you got things worked out - SAs should never judge - and yet they do. Pity. I'm also glad you love Ebloui - my favorite (with Illusoire right behind it) of all of them!

I love how this color looks on you! Please let us know how it wears!

I have purchased several Chanel np and love the colors. The polish always seems to chip, however, after only one or two days. I will buy this color if it seems to have more lasting power.
I just put on my first Chanel nail polish and if it lasts 3 days or more, I am hooked. It goes on like butter. It has a smaller brush which my tiny nails appreciate! It dries fast, maybe a bit too fast! But two applications and it is perfectly opaque. About time! Too many polishes are needing a 3rd or 4th cover and that is ridiculous. They last longer with less layers. So, I did top it off with Seche Vite, so we shall see how it goes! I am wearing Quartz, from the Chanel Fall Collection (perfect pairing to Prelude Quad) and would describe it as a Frosty Antique Pewter!

Thanks ladies for your words of support regarding my recent horrible experience at the counter.

Want to hear a great story and update?

Many years ago at that same store I used to shop with the MAC counter manager. A wonderful lady named Autumn who is fun, professional and very enthusiastic. Spending time with her was always a blast. She moved on to something else and I lost track of her.

Guess who is now the Cosmetics and Fragrance department manager at that store? Yep. You guessed it.

I spoke w/Autumn yesterday about what happened with the messed up order. I also told her about my experiences with the staff. Most times when I go out there I am on my way home from a long shift and am usually still in my scrubs. I definitely don't look like their typical customer at that counter. But looks are deceiving and alot of times I will shop more freely than alot of those women in their designer clothes and expensive purses.

Well Autumn couldn't have been nicer. She is sending a postage paid envelope for me to return the wrong item so I don't have to make another long bus trip into the store and eat up half of my day off. She also pulled one of the few remaining Topkapi quads for me and will be sending that as well. And she will be working with the counter regarding the service issues. I feel much better now.

Regarding Rouge JC and Byzantine l/s. Wore them Friday night. They are gorgeous. Pale ladies don't be afraid of these colors. We can definitely rock them.

Elegant, thanks for turning me on to Ebouli. I love it. I am thinking about trying it over MUFE burgandy aqua cream shadow.

Not really sure about the polishes. Peridot just doesn't look very good on me. Will try Graphite today.

Thats great that everything is being sorted out for you, hope those Chanel SA improve their service and are nicer next time! :)

I am glad that this worked out for you! I will never understand why some sales people treat customers poorly.

Shontay -- I love your descriptions of the Prelude quad. I will definitely be picking that one up! I love reading about ladies who are as passionate about makeup as I am!

Lou -- you along with the rest of us are buying way too much, LOL -- but isn't it so fun?? Glad you are here with us.

April -- so gad you got the situation worked out. Hopefully the service will improve there. Whew!! Glad you are loving your goodies.

Hope all of you have a great rest of your weekend. Happy 4th of July to our American friends on here! And happy Canada day to those who celebrated!

Quartz looks so pretty on you^ and that was the one polish I had convinced myself I don't need!
lol Thank you! It was the one I thought I would pass on if I bought any, but really had fun with the lady at the counter as we played with them. She had on Graphite, which I loved and so bought those two on Friday night. Today I went back and got Peridot! Happy to say a day of shopping, typing and errands and Quartz is still chip free! These colours are so beautiful and unique that I think they are worth the money. Graphite actually has a green tinge to it with lots of sparkle rather than just a high frost. Peridot is like a fall leaf. Greens and yellows, gleaming in the rain, chameleon like in the way they change colours according to lighting and angles. I loved the way it looked on her today even though I was already sold.

Sadly Nordies is running very low on stock and could not find what I wanted in lipsticks, so consoled myself at the Estee Lauder counter for a bit! :)

I'm so excited for these to come out in the uk! - I want all 3 polishes now! I've never tried a Chanel polish before so they shall be my first :) I'm excited for Peridot the most as its so unusual and different which is how everyone I know describes my style in makeup/jewellery :)

I completely agree! The price is ridiculous, but the polish is so nice and unique that mine will be used mostly for special occasions; going out for dinner, Thanksgiving, my birthday, parties, family gatherings, etc. Something extra special for those extra special moments! I'll save my other polish brands for everyday use. And if I just "happen" to stumble across one of these and "accidentally" put it on for casual use, who is to stop me? :)

^The price is crazy, the most I've spent on a polish is an Estee Lauder one called Extravagant Night which was the last one so I quickly snapped it up! I don't remember exactly how much it cost but I remember my friends jaw dropping when I purchased it! (she's not makeup-mad like me) :)

^Shontay, I just redid my swatches in the Chanel swatch thread, if that helps. I realized my swatches were WAY too light to be helpful before--doh.

Girl, I'm tracking UPS progress every day! It's looking like Friday... I can't WAIT to play with the Rouge Blush! I'm going to buy the lipstick the same day (if my freakin' counters get it in by then) so that I can have the whole collection.

I think I'm definitely getting the nail poishes from the fall collection (at least Peridot and Quartz), and the Khaki Platine pencil.

The jury is still out on those cream shadows.

[/quote] In my honest opinion, you can skip the shadows. Epatant caused an allergic reaction so I am a bit put off by that, but honestly it's not a must have. The quad is gorgeous, though and I think it would look great on you. For the Byzance collection, that red lipstick is calling me, but I swore off red lipstick after buying Mufe's Moulin Rouge because it's perfect. This Chanel red is tempting, though. The red blush also looks great, but I have Mounia by Nars that I really don't reach for. The gold highlighter looks good, but I want to be sure it will show on my skin first. I don't want it to be too subtle. There's no fun in that.

I just bought the red blush and the ls.. that's it. As pretty as the Topkapi quad looks, I have so much product and so many similar colours they don't blow my socks off.

I did purchase the Prelude quad, the two ls and the Rose Ecrin blush but they arrived at my office while I was away (at least it says "delivered).. and I won't be in my office till Thursday so I will have a fun weekend trying on stuff.

I did not order any of the creamgel shadows as I have a few from Armani which are true winners imo, and also some of my own from the original formulations for this type of product and which were not put into production because the cost of the pigment was too high.. lol. So I get to keep them

Also, I am not thrilled at the colour range or the high amount of glimmer - shimmer.. I prefer a satin finish.

(I love that little cheerleader. lol)

Debi.. that polish looks stunning on you.. I am considering Peridot but I have no luck with Chanel polishes -- they usually chip off in a day or so. I am wearing CD - Aloha.. and wow! that clear coat is like shellac.. love love love it !!

April.. so nice to see you around again. I myself have been awol for a few weeks travelling. Now I can work my fanny off until I leave again in August. lol.

C!

My Byzance stuff also arrives this Friday! LOL! I am more excited about this collection than the actual fall collection, with the exception of the vanities quad.
