I rolled by Saks and bought the Prelude quad. It's gorgeous. I played with the khaki liner, but it's so easy to smudge, it would be useless on me. I wanted it for my waterline. Rose Plantine will continue to be my go-to, then. The polishes were nice, but I am not a polish freak, so I can settle for my China Glaze and OPI. :haha: The other thing that really had me playing with it until the last minute was the blush. What's the name? Rose something. I wondered if it would be too light for me, but it seems really pigmented and smooth. I want something subtle for everyday wear. I may have to go back. At that point, I had spent way too much money elsewhere. Not the best pics, but it's the best I can do today.
So what can I say about these gorgeous colors? Looking at it, I was afraid that the lightest color would be chalky, but I need to stop worrying because with Chanel, the texture is what makes it work. It's comparable to Mac's Nylon, I guess. It's a slightly gold, beige color. There's the purplish taupe, and a beige taupe that both tie in wonderfully with Rose Plantine. One of the reasons I love Chanel and why I have jumped head first into their shadows is that they tie their products together. You can wear the Summer collection with the Fall collection right now and it's easy. I don't like to put away my make up at the end of a particular season. I don't care about what colors you are supposed to wear in a season and Chanel makes it possible. I'm going to wear this quad right now. The shade that sealed the deal was the dark purple, oddly enough. As much as I loved the taupes, the blackened purple is to die for. Sorry for the long post, but I had to geek out. I probably wouldn't have bought a quad like this from another brand because I sometimes find these colors boring, but Chanel, with their textures makes this a treasure. Unfortunately, Saks didn't have the Byzance collection. Maybe that's a good thing, though.
