Do any of you folks have trouble with these mineral eyeshadows fading? I have both Golden Gaze and Unsurpassable and they look great when I put them on in the morning but are faded badly by lunch time.

I always use them over a base (either a MAC paint pot or the NYX white base), I've applied them both wet and dry but it doesn't seem to matter.

This AM I put the lighter green part of Unsurpassable on the inner half of my lid (applied wet), with MAC Blue Flame on the outer half. Blue Flame has faded a little but is mostly still there, while you can't tell I had anything on my inner lid at all :(.

These shadows are fun to look at and play with but I'm not loving their lasting power......

Is it just me?

YES, I have the same issue. I only have Clarity and Golden Gaze, and I have more of a problem with Clarity. I have noticed, however, that the black portions of Golden Gaze tend to start looking kind of dry and ruddy after a while. I also use them over a base. This is the main reason why I have passed on the mineral e/s in the past (these are my first). I have never been impressed with them and then got sucked in by seeing Clarity swatched in person and read all the hype for Golden Gaze here. I still think they're lovely, but I'm pretty sure they will be my first and only mineral e/s purchases.

I get better staying power by layering them on - either all dry or a combo of wet with dry on top. I let my eye cream and primer sink in well before I apply them. Applying them over Big Bounce shadows helps a lot too, if I want to take the time for that extra step.

One thing I've noticed, though, is some shades are just less opaque than others - Clarity is one of them - and those don't last as long. The more glittery, the less staying power. Also, applying them with too wet of a brush cuts down on the wear for some reason. Mineral shadows just don't wear as long in general - but these get me through a day or an evening without touch-ups (just not both).

I use UDPP with Clarity alone and it lasts all day (8 hours) foiled even more. With the Big Bounce over UDPP and a MES well over 12 hours.

It really does seem to depend on the color, like liba hit on earlier. For the trickier shadows, I prime with MUFE then MAC BB cream, apply a paint pot, a highlight / base shadow, then foil on the mes. Sometimes afterwards I dust on another layer dry and this all really seems to do the trick. Maybe a lot of steps, but it stays put all day, and I just love the colors of this collection so much, it's worth the trouble.

mine don't fae on me. i tend to use udpp as a primer. then apply a base like a paint pot or greasepain stick, then i apply the shadow wet. and when it has dried i apply some of the mes dry but patting it on top to 'seal' it in :) works a treat :)

See, this is my issue. I don't want to have to work this hard to make an eyeshadow show up the way I think it should, by itself, from the start!

I use UDPP as I do with all of my shadows, but I'm not willing to add yet more products to make it work. I wonder if UDPP in Eden will make a difference? I'll have to try it.

I went to indianapolis and chicago and oh damn... 6 stores and they all ONLY had unsurpassable and jade's fortune. I get why unsurpassable wouldnt work for everyone, but.... jade's fortune is very very very beautiful. i think people might get turned off by its yellow veining but its my fav after clarity.

I am kicking myself right now for not getting Clarity when I had the chance! I got to swatch it today and fell in love with it. If anyone decides to part with theirs or has a counter that has a few left please let me know!
