MAC - MAC Me Over Discussion

I am surprised no one is gushing over the lippies. I did not know Mythology was so similar to Falling Star. Now I am regretting getting that and passing up on Creamy Bisque. I thought it would be too pink but sounds like it isn't. Anyone know how it compares to Bisque from the regular catalog? I love that color--being a neutral h00r and all but I would love it better if the texture were more buttery...

I am a quite disappointed with MAC and their inconsistency in producing their products.
so am I, it makes it really difficult to buy with confidence

I got my stuff today and at first glance I'm really happy :)

looks like my 226 is reasonably tapered (sorry for poor quality)

and it's lovely and soft :)

and swatched on my hand Stunner looks gorgeous
the packaging came a bit damaged (box bashed, and the plastic had come out of the lid) but I was planning on depotting anyway so it's not an issue

just about to try on runaway run. my first ever red lippie - eek!

waiting for my stuff!!! Anyway I though this was my biggest haul ever... indeed it's still Surf Baby! but I know I'll love my stuff as much as every product I bought this year... I've never bought a backup but If I could turn back time I would have taken a second Candy yum yum!
What can you tell me about seaside? is there someone who loves or hates it?

Here's what I got:

- Creamy Bisque (I got the second last one, that one was super popular here!), it's wonderful creamy white shade, not pink on my skin.
- Fatigues (I love that murky army green for nails)
- Stunner (again, the second last one here, it was selling like crazy)
- Equilibrium (beautiful!)
- Runaway Red B2M
- Lady Grey quad (all the shades swathced very pigmented and pretty)
- Street Cool and Tundra shadesticks (very smooth and pigmented)

I wanted to get the pale creamy nail polish, but I'm afraid the formula in those pale cream shades sucks.

Outre was very very close to Ochre Style. Moleskin was like Kid. Carbonized was also almost an exact dupe for Center Stage. Those all were excellent shades, and I would've gotten them in a heartbeat in case I didn't have those dupes. So they are quite easy to dupe, but they are very high in quality. Love them even though I didn't them!

Mythical is a beautiful shade, but boy it is frosty and metallic. I'm on the fence whether to get it or not. I love the colour, not the metallic finish. What to do?

Take Root is one beautiful baby. It's a brown with some blue undertones in it that makes it so interesting. It glowed on my hand. I doubt I can wear CCB:s as a base because they can crease so easily, so I didn't get it, wouldn't know where else to use it. Plus I have too many brown bases already. Seaside is also pretty, but not a must have in my book. Blended out it would be so sheer, that there's only shimmer/glitter left.

I was sure I was going to get Dark Envy, but it was like Minted eye kohl on me, so I decided to be a good girl here and use what I have instead. Avenue was okay, but I have some liners that are similar enough for me.

Evil Eye...Oh gosh. Spellcaster must be the worst eyeshadow I have ever come across. I couldn't get the colour out for the life of me. The other ones were bad, but showed up at least (evil eye being the second worst). PP was chalky, but best in the quad. Moody looks so nice in the pan but had to be digged to get some colour. Wasn't that a veluxe pearl?

So the blushes and single eyeshadows are the hits in this collection in my opinion. Very high in quality, excellent colours and all the way beautiful. :)

i got my goodies today! :) yay!

lady grey quad is stunning. the colours are all quite muted and soft. i find them easy to work with and i think they will make for a great understated smokey eye :)

mythical shadow is also super pretty. it has the same vp finish that woodwinked has - super smooth and metallic looking :)

prince noir is fabulous. i'm wearing it right now and it does not feel like a normal matte. it is much softer on my lips :)

I went back to MAC for my second haul but I only came back with the 226 and Stunner blush. I wanted to get a few more goodies but I needed a new concealer and thats more important! Lol.

My 226 isn't that tapered at all. I made the MA show me all the ones they had and they all looked similar so I just picked the one that seemed a bit more pointy. I still think its a good brush and I'm glad I purchased it as I need something more precise than the 224 :)

My parcels are with the courier, I'm just waiting still. Yodel never deliver until the evening but I don't think it will come until tomorrow now.

Swatched Creamy Bisque on the counter today and on me it looked like a cross between Phloof! and Shroom but when I swatched all together Creamy Bisque was deffo the most pink so passed on that. Still thinking about the fluidlines, Mythical and Prince Noir. Maybe I'll pop at the counter on sunday and see what's still left.

mythical makes me look like my eyes are infected though lol :(

Same here. It definitely gives me that pink eye look. I think the pink undertones in my skin bring out the worst in these sorts of colors. I should have known better too. I bought a Too Faced shadow of a similar color (Socialite, i think?) a year or two ago and had the same effect. The texture of Mythical is really nice though and I'm sure it looks gorgeous on most people. There's just too much pinky-copper in this one for me.

Anybody getting back ups? :)

Yep. Breamy Bisque, Outre, Moleskin and Carbonized and putting them in a pretty little quad. I love these colors to pieces.
All gorgeous, perfect neutrals for me.

I was going to BU Oh, Oh, Oh, but decided on second thought that I didn't love it enough.
I am contemplating backing up Take Root, which is also a perfect color for me, but I really dislike the CCB texture.
I want a paint pot this color, darnit!
Also contemplating a BU of Street Cool, but I generally don't sure SS so I'm not sure I would reach for it enough to justify a BU.
