Yep, completely agree with everyone anout Debi's Nordstrom situation. I am shocked.

That is great news that your Nordies SA says yes to exclusive shades Cheryl!

shadow - Good that dinner went well. It's nice to meet those interesting people and listen to the things they do lol.

My store doesn't have it yet. It would be so adorable with a cardigan and skinny belt and a pair of boots. I'm so ticked my store isn't doing the 40% off. Oh wellz!

I've even been going through my wishlist of perm items from when I first started getting into Chanel -- trying to figure out what I want to buy LOL Hurry up Velvets!
Pretty dress! Yeah the velvets need to launch quickly over there!

Michelle - I love that dress in both colors. So pretty & wearable any time I think.

Shypo - I agree, those sparkles are unlike any sparkles I have ever seen. Let us know how you like it on. Who would think I would come away with only a hairpin. But then I think I make up for all the other shopping trips. I wanted to snoop around the Chanel counter a bit more but some mom had a stroller, her husband and at least 4 kids blocking the counter so it was impossible to get near it.

Shadowaddict - Wow, I just sipped my coffee as read, engaged like a romance novel. Glad it turned out ok for you. I totally would have enjoyed the tipsy lady

More of the brush set to help decide if you need/do not need it. My counters won't get the lip bag though, it is only available at the dutyfree shop.

The wordings from last year's brush set peeled off, but the brush is much denser than this year's.

Comparison with 219SE

And with 275SE

Left: Clair of Khaki-Clair. Right: Ivoire of Noir-Ivoire. Top: Blazing Gold

Michelle, I'll see if i can post a FOTD in the next day or so - it's not going to show up a 'lot', but we'll see what I can capture with the camera - I'm so looking forward to experimenting with it over different paint pots (Rubenesque, Coral Crepe, maybe Select Vintage and some others).

Where did I miss what happened to Debi? In our off-topic thread?

Miss QQ - Thanks so much for the swatches! I'm really tempted by the brush set but I think it might only be available in London with all the other Chanel gift sets :( I'll try to forget about it until next week and if not I'll have to ring up and place an order

msqqq.. thanks for the great pics! I like the Chanel brushes and have a few, but I am so into Suquu brushes now

that I am waiting for those to arrive. Are you looking for a light highliter eyeshadow.. I love and adore my Island as well as Ivory.. those work the best for me since they give me glow vs. small glitter. The glitter is what turned me off Fauve as well as the new Beige es.

Debi.. hope things get sorted out. It's a nasty situation for you.. and being sick is not easy.. especially with back pains. Rest and feel better soon!

Cheryl -- yep, Debi posted about a nightmarish experience at Nordies (a sales person knocking an opened bottle of nail polish on her brand new Coach bag, outfit and shoes). Aaacck!
I'd love to see what you come up with! I always love to see swatches before I take the plunge :)

Can't wait to see what you come up with Cheryl! I agree the multicolored sparkles in BL are beautiful & really unique. To me these are not like in Fauve at all, which I returned because I hated the texture & glitter fallout. But it's all just personal preference. I love Island e/s too and don't understand why they dc'd it!

That is a bummer. I bet the SA feels horrible about it. I had a SA spill foundation on an expensive sweater once. The store said that they would replace the sweater if it didn't come out. It ended up coming out but, nail polish eeek!!

Was there ever a general consensus on the Fairy powder? I have to admit it is tempting me.
It liked it, although it did seem a touch powdery. I can't really afford to indulge in multiple fairy powders and I have to say that, having swatched both, if I'm going to buy one, it will probably be Guerlain's "bird feather" powder, since I think that could work as both a light blush and a highlighter.

Ingenue.. yes, I agree the BL might give you the brightness, lit up to fake it.. lol. BUT you are young and have gorgeous skin and no winkies.. I am on the edge of a hole and stepping on a banana peel.

I'm not looking at those brushes... I'm NOT!

Chanel has taken enough of my money... thank you very much.

HG, I got the Beige Lame shadow for the precise reason that it's invisible. I know that sounds assinine, but it smooths out the lid area and 'lights' it... so that you can fake it like you're not wearing anything... because you have naturally fabulous eyes. I use MAC Naked Dark Pigment for the same reason... except Beige Lame has a distinct sparkle to it that lights the eye area even more. I love it.

It's also a perfect 'base' color for any color combo you choose to pair it with.

Well, I was all excited to go to Nordstroms today with a list of things to look at, starting with the Christmas Philosophy goodies. I stood in front of the display trying to decide which one to sniff first and what to get before skipping merrily over to the Chanel counter to swatch when.... a sales lady started pushing herself on me and pointing to every single scent saying which one she liked, or this is good and that one is nice....when...

SMASH...CRASH!!!

The nail polish bottle she was holding slipped out of her hands, hit the glass display, then the floor, splattered nail polish everywhere, including on my shoes, my pants, my sweater, me, and my Coach bag.

"Oh, sorry. I'm so sorry." Yeah. Um, ya just ruined my entire outfit and my brand new bag. I get this was an accident, but sorry is not going to cut it, chickie! She started coming at me with nail polish remover to remove the nail polish from my bag. Are you serious???? Handbag department did not know what to do. Manager did not know what to do. (Whatever happened to if you ruin it you pay for it???) They took my bag to the shoe department and let one of the guys at it. Oh, splendid idea. They didn't take the n/p off but they did ruin the bag even more.

"Sorry." A lot of shrugs. Are you kidding me? By now I feel like Dr. Jekyll and Mr Hyde, one minute so angry and not wanting to say a word out of anger and the other minute tears filling my eyes and rolling down my face. It was just a "let's make a quick fix and get her out of here" attitude. Now I don't swear, and I keep my cool, and I let the tears run quietly down. I am no diva. They offered to have the purse professionally cleaned. We went up to Coach for their advice and they said no, it is ruined and cannot be treated. They need to replace it.

Now waiting for a call. I didn't buy Chanel. I didn't buy butter or anything else there. We went to B&BW and Macy's and gosh darn, golly, I won't buy a thing from Nordstroms until they fix this and after the nonchalant service I received I won't be going back there in a hurry. And it would have to be my favourite purse that they ruined...which is about 10 days old. Great. Right now wishing I could start my whole day over again. But I can't. So the ruined sweater and the ruined shoes, bag and pants are sitting here staring at me. Lovely...

^ Oh wow, what a nightmare! I really hope they take care of that for her.

I just ordered Beige Lame, it's my first ever Chanel purchase, I'm very excited :) !
I'm really hoping it looks okay on my skintone because it looks absolutely beautiful, that multicolored sparkle

WOW. I hadn't seen that story. Debi, I'm so sorry that you had to go through that. I dropped a bottle of polish on my living room table a year ago and, despite the fact that I cleaned it immediately and it's a non-porous surface (unlike your clothes and bag), I can still see the stain under certain light (and it was near-black polish on a near-black table). They need to replace your belongings. I'm shocked that they'd be so callous about the whole incident. Unfortunately, sometimes you need to be a bit diva-ish, at least a little, or you seem to get trampled on. You should send a note about your experiences to Nordstrom's head office, regardless of the outcome. At this point, whatever they do, you're still going to have the bitter taste of that initial experience hanging around.

Do you have Ivory too? Do you find Ivory very yellow? I passed it because I found it too yellow, and I have never seen Island before at my counters.

Whoa, that is AWFUL. Customer service needs to GET on that asap. The true test of good C/S comes when there's a situation like this. I hope they make the right amends. Poor Debi :(

I agree - Nordstrom, given who they are, should be all over this. I know of situations where they have gone OVERBOARD when someone complains, so this should be a no-brainer for them. She really needs to contact the corporate office. Pretty lame that the manager didn't know what to do and made it obvious. I hope she's able to get it resolved soon and to her satisfaction.

did they file accident report? even ulta pays for outfits that are ruined from the nail polishes, so there is no way nordstrom would not do it.
