I received my first two Rouge Allure Velvets a few days ago and I love them! I can't believe they're matte - they feel very creamy!

Alisha, those pics look so pretty! I usually shy away from mattes (I wear matte foundation so matte lips make me look 'dead') but I may have to make an exception in this case.

EngineerBarbie, the texture of these mattes is quite soft and have a lovely light luminosity...not the hard matte of another decade... I like my face matte too, but these mattes just work perfectly with all I apply.

Wow, seriously? Because I hate how dry matte lippies are. The only matte lippie I love is NARS velvet matte lip pencil. I hope Nordstrom gets these RA Velvets soon so I can get my double fashion points next week.

EB - If you like NARS matte velvet lip pencil and don't find it drying, I think you won't find chanel velvets drying. I have dry lips and NARS was drying for me, while chanel is less drying and has more slip.

I have NARs pure matte lipstick - I don't find it drying but yes RA velvets have a lot more slip and just feel very creamy. Waited too long for the Holiday collection!
