Slowpoke here, finally saw that the Velvets are up on the Chanel site but I'll wait until my local Nordies has them in stock. My SAs have been great to me and I want to make sure they get my sales.
That and I want to see/feel/swatch them in person, Chanel lippies almost always end up completely different on me than most people for some reason.
(I still need to catch up on some glossimers and Illusions d'Ombres...I swear I'm always going to be a collection behind in Chanel. Good thing my Nordies doesn't sell out of LE stuff quickly.)

The whole Velvets situation is just killing me softly... none of the swatches I can find are true.
So... I think I'm going to wait on a couple of colors. I need to see if La Ravissante is going to be too pale, and how close L'exuberante would be to say... Carthage.
I think my Chanel connect called me today. I need to call her back.

None of the colors could ever be pale. Seriously, they are very saturated pigmented colors. My lips are incredibly pigmented & these are just a dream to show true color on. I think the swatches I showed are pretty true to real life, but of course sometimes they do look different on.

Thanks for the pics of the Velvets. I am very tempted to order La Distinguee from eBay but after seeing your swatches I'm having second thoughts, I thought it would be paler/more nude. How would you describe the color on your lips? Do you think it's worth the prices they are charging on eBay?

A CP is a Custom Purchase, where a very nice person who has access to the item you'd like takes pity on you and buys it for you. You generally pay them via Paypal, or buy them something they want that's available here but not in their country.

I wore La Raffinee today. I could see this being very popular as it is probably the most wearable of all the colors. It's hard to describe, it reminds me a little of Mademoiselle, only rosier and brighter (at least to my eyes). Overall, I'm happy with the wear. By the end of the day, my lips looked a little dry but I wouldn't necessarily this lipstick dried my lips out but it wasn't moisturizing either. I had to stop myself from reaching for my lip balm all day. The texture is a dream, it glides right on.
I picked up La Caline but don't see myself getting anything else from this collection (maybe La Distinguee). The colors are pretty but I don't think I would get much use our of the other colors. After getting Famous and Triomphe from the Holiday collection, I have plenty of reds.

C!.. I got furtive, la caline, raffinee, la distinguee and exuberante.. lol.. I had to stay away from the reds although I might just get one this coming weekend .. but I think I want la Sompteuse.. which was sold out again.. grr. My favourite so far is Furtive (which is a naked velvet lip) and la Caline, which is like wearing my lips inside out.. lol. Exuberante is amazing and la distinguee is just so elegant and low key.

On my pigmented lips, it is a neutral slight warm peach. Nothing pale about these colors. You can sheer them out, but they have plenty of color to them. Pale would not describe them. Price, well it is ebay & they are hard to get.

Oh crap I must have missed your swatches! I'm sorry. I was looking online and just confused all to be damned.
I will likely end up with ALL of the damned reds, one pink and if it doesn't look crazy.. the corally one.

I'm on the fence about La Ravissante (sp?) because I'm worried about the warmth of the color on my warm skin tone. Shontay, I'll just wait for your review. In the meantime...

Uh...the reds are gorgeous. Oh I bought the pink & the red Kate Spade lipsticks & love them! The lipstick itself in the tube is shorter than any lipstick I've seen

I spotted the velvets in Macy's in times square. La ravissante is gorgeous! Can't wait for my order to come this week. They all feel so soft when swatched. I decided to take a chance and I got #34. If I can get a decent pic I'll post it. I also got genie gloss. Finally!
