Chanel Holiday 2011

I forgot to look at Beige Lame when I was in the mall yesterday. So I'm safe from buying it for another week lol, but I keep thinking about it.

I've actually been thinking about BL too. I swatched it on my arm and the shimmer looked so so pretty. Some reviews have said that the shimmer does translate on the eye, which I hope it would. Seems like I have so many neutral shadows, but if one comes out that's a bit different, I'm all over it.

It does, you just have to pat the shadow on over a primer, even just a MAC Paint Pot. The shimmer is really gorgeous.

I honestly think everyone here should pick up Beige Lame if you've been thinking about it. It's such a gorgeous neutral, pictures don't do it justice.

Well, I'm a looney toon. I had it, used it, couldn't make it work for me, returned it. I ordered it again last week, to give it another go. I think I have lost my mind.

I've been there, done that with other things Cheryl. Let us know if you like it more the second time around or not. How are your new "kids" doing?

^^LOL!! So I am not alone! That's a relief! ;)

The 'kids' are great - it's an adjustment for sure - for all of us - but things are going well, and routines are being disrupted and re-established. I'll post pics soon. The little 'shy' one we call Tucker, and the bigger one doesn't have a name yet - we're going to let our younger son name him when he gets home for Thanksgiving. So for now he's 'No-Name' :). Our other dog Rliey loves them, and they her, so that's a very good thing!

Thanks for asking!

LOL I wouldn't say so, I'm in the same boat with Rouge Carat. Returned it since it chipped so quickly and I find myself desperately wanting it again. I keep trying to tell myself that I don't want to cross into $25 polishes when a) I can probably find a decent dupe through OPI/Zoya, and b) it's going to start a collecting habit I do NOT want to get into, but... >_<

How long do Chanel polishes last before they turn? If they last a long time that might convince me to just buy RC anyway. I'm into Chanel due to the elegant packaging and quality of the makeup, not because of just the Chanel name.

QueenofSnarkieone.. I have had Chanel polishes which are over 4 years old now..and they are still not turned.. lol.

some I have had great luck with (Vamp, Dragon, Graphite).. others more problems with chipping etc... so I am not the best person to ask as my use is err... flawed.

I'm quite sure this has happened to me before. We're all headed for the looney bin.

I have quite a few Chanel polishes and have tried many base and top coats with them. Honestly, the Chanel base and top coat work best with their polishes to prevent chipping.

I caved last week and ordered Rouge Carat too, along with Pirate and Rose Cache. Me, who said I wasn't too into polishes. Yeah, ok.

*squirms* But I don't want to spend ANOTHER $50 just to get a $25 polish to work.

I think that just killed my lemming for Rouge Carat and any Chanel polish ever again.

I must say that the new Rose Exuberant np has lasted perfectly for a very long time on me. Its probably the best wear I've gotten out of any of the colors. I love love love this shade on me.

I had to get it. I was on the 'can't stop thinking about it' boat. I'm loving it. Wore it today, and used Mirifique as my liner.

Yup. I just put it away to be with its friends for the night, but I think I'm going to be trying this one out tomorrow. The sparkle is even more ridiculously pretty at home than in the store. I think that the problem the first time that I saw it was that the store lighting was very, very bright, so it sort of "blanched" the colour. Truly beautiful. And now I just have to stop myself from buying the highlighter.

katred - lol. Let us know what you think of it when you have worn it.

Those who have BL, is it like Fauve in terms of shimmers and pigmentation?

Chanel nail polishes dry hard and with a glossy look, even without a top coat. All nail polishes chip within a week on my fingers, and chanel can chip after a day. I'm not a good example on how long they can last too, my nails are brittle and soft to begin with so I think it makes the polish chip easily because my nail will blend at the slightest pressure.

I know, I really didn't want to spend $50 for a top and base coat. Maybe the Chanel top coat works best because it isn't fast drying and won't shrink the polish like all of the fast drying ones. Try a less expensive non fast drying top coat and see how it fares.

elegant-one When I saw Rose Exuberant in Paris it was love at first sight. I know it is going to be one of my all time favorites along with Blue Rebel.

Karlasugar has reviewed the collection. She is making me want Tweed Brun Rose and Noir-Ivoire badly. Those of you who have them, what are your thoughts? Are they must haves? She also reviewed the cdp powder, so gorgeous!
