MissQQ -- what a fun shopping trip! Can't wait to hear your report about the holiday meteorites

Sounds like you got lots of great loot :)
And yay for Sees Candies! Hope you love everything! I especially love their chocolate covered caramels -- yum. We have a Sees in our local mall and sometimes it is just too tempting LOL

Michelle - I'll let you know when I've tried the guerlain.

very excited. The celebrity MA who did my makeover used the holiday quad and the pressed peacock powder a lot. He liked the powder very much, said it can be used all over the face, and as a blush. Wonder if I'll cave. Remember See's Candy? I got my friend to buy a box of California Brittle for me! I wanted the Christmas boxes and the mug but the store didn't have them. I also got the cafe latte candy and two pumpkin spice lollipops.

I have not tried CB because it is wrapped beautifully and I don't want to open it.
sounds like you had an awesome shopping trip!

Miss QQ Your goodies sound wonderful.

Speaking of Guerlain, I bought my first Rouge G and love it. Now I am lemming a quad and maybe their new mascara that is coming out soon.

How do you ladies find the scent of the Rouge G's? I hear that some don't like the heavy violet scent while others love it. Just curious!

msqq.. you made out like a bandit! Congrats and enjoy!

jmarie I love the Rouge G';s for their texture too.. and have a few of them.. I don't think I am going to be that enthused about the new mascara... primarily because of it's scent. I don't particularly like scent around my eyes.. even if it evaporates after awhile.

Good to know you ladies like the Rouge G's -- I have had my eye on Gemma -- looks like it may be the most perfect pink ever, and Galia -- a pink nude. Maybe Santa will bring those for me??

I finally made my way over to Macy's today to pick up Sweet Beige lipgloss. I wanted the mirror too but they didn't have it. They didn't even know what I was talking about. I wonder if Macy's isn't going to get the mirror. I may go check out another store tomorrow. I'm still thinking about Blazing Gold eye shadow. I wore Enivree lipstick with Pleasing Glossimer today. I thought it looked a lot like the Meteore Glossimer I was looking at today. Maybe I need to get Meteore next. BTW when I got home, I was going through my stash and I thought Enviree looked very much like the Sephora Star lipstick I have in #4 - Delirious Rose. Although still a sheer lipstick, it may have been a tad more opaque than Enivree.

Thanks, ladies! It was a very good promotion. Those of you who have the meteorities, what brush do you use? I used a round powder brush and wasn't successful.

bis - Yes, the meteorities is smoother. I like the peacock powder as an all over powder on my face, but I'm not sure if it will work as a blush because it is very light when I concentrated the brush on the pink spots. If you are looking for a pressed powder, it works well and is very pretty to look at. Knowing us who have too much makeup, it is not a must have unless you like the peacock pattern a lot.

Lou - Thanks! I am very late, and still want to wish you a happy birthday, anniversary and congrats on winning the tablet!

Michelle - I used the meteorities and I could definitely see the shimmers. The MA said this is more shimmery than the usual ones, and he used 01 Rose on me after using the peacock powder all over too. I didn't see any shimmers for the makeover. The shimmers from this holiday meteorities are from the silver pearls. You can look at this review, where the blogger says she removes them from the container before using.
http://delicatehummingbird.blogspot.com/2011/11/guerlain-holiday-2011-meteorites-perles.html
These silver pearls are the smallest and they were on the top of my container as the larger ones tend to sit at the bottom, and I didn't give it a good shake first so it could be why I had a more shimmery effect today. I will try it some more. I love the brightening effect, I could really see it! Was always skeptical but now I'm convinced on how glowly these meteorities are. I wasn't bothered by the scent. I don't know if Rouge G has any scent. The scent of the kisskiss lippies bothers me. I couldn't resist any long and opened the box of California Brittle. It smells heavenly and I love it. Yum! It is very pricey at Macau though. It is expensive over at your place?

jmarie - Which Rouge G did you buy? I'm looking forward to the refillable mascara, I really like the concept but the scent is a turn off. I can only hope it is not too strong and doesn't sting my eyes.

HG - Is the weight of the Rouge G an issue? I like to bring my lippies with me but if it is too heavy it will not be taken out. I don't like scent eye products too. I have Jill Stuart eye jellies which has a floral scent. I put it on and I smelt it and was wondering where the smell came from because I hadn't put on lipstick or gloss which are the usual suspects. Then I realised it was from my eyes, eeww! Luckily the scent has faded. Too bad we can't air the mascara, it would dry up.

Miss QQ I bought #60 Gabrielle. It's a long lasting pinky nude that I can't find in the Chanel line. Gabrielle is nice and subtle for every day and I can add a lip liner to make it darker.

I have tested other Guerlain mascaras and haven't noticed a scent. I just like the idea of a really black glossy mascara, they are hard to find.

MissQQ -- thanks for the review! I may have to go for the regular Rose meteorites instead of the holiday ones. I love that they really do have a brightening effect!
I would have broken into the Sees by now, too. LOL The prices are very reasonable here -- they sell the chocolate/candy for $16.50 USD per pound. The Chocolate covered peppermints are my fave at Christmastime!

Hi girls!

MissQQ - NICE HAUL!!! Wow, what a great day of freebies!! Enjoy them!

Michelle, now that I have the Meteorites powders in Beige, Rose and Holiday (and a 'white' one that I ordered from Izzy's), I love the Rose for every day. They are a wonderful brightener! I use my MUFE HD finishing powder brush to apply them - I think a regular kabuki would do a nice job. I haven't stopped wearing them. The Holiday version will be awesome for the holiday parties, but I like the tip of taking the silver ones out for a more subtle look.

With the Sephora F&F sale, I got a couple of the Rouge Gs - and yes, they are HEAVY tubes!!! Oh my gosh! These won't be going in my purse, unfortunately. I'd love the formula in something less ornate, but the packaging is very luxurious! OK, maybe I could carry one (which would really be a first for me!!!).

My latest obsession is the Burberry Midnight Brown with Pale Rose (I think I've been calling it Pale Pink) - beautiful smoky eye material!!

See's is the best - we have a holiday-time 'cart' here at our mall - I try to pick them up (along with locally-made fortune cookies) when I go to SF. Such a treat!!!

Thanks for the review MissQQ, so the peacock powder is just nice and the holiday meteorites are shimmery? At this point I might not get either then, too bad. Every review of the peacock powder I saw was saying that it is very finely milled. Guess skipping is not a bad thing, I virtually bought nearly all of the Chanel holiday collection  Happy belated birthday Lou! I am sorry I missed it :birthday:

Cheryl -- I'm so glad you are loving your Guerlain. I didn't end up ordering from the F&F Sephora sale, and now I am regretting it :( I just couldn't make up my mind LOL Now I will end up getting them at full price! So what do you think of the scent of the Rouge G's? It seems most aren't bothered by it. Temptalia seems to have lip swatches of all of the Rouge G's -- so I may be checking out more of those.

C! my favourite meteorites are the white also. second to the beige. The white makes me look sparkly.. lol. Not glittery but like I washed my face and did not put on any mu.. lol. I love them.. I also got a white powder, Dr. White.. (err, sounds like James Bond..lol).. but it works wonders too to even out my skin without using more foundation. That one is Givenchy.

Lou, I missed your birthday too!.. do we still have a HB thread? .. oh well

Hope it was great!!

I'd be curious to know your thoughts on the new mascara. It's the one product where Guerlain has really failed to impress me (other than the fact that I can't wear their foundations because they don't come light enough). I'm still super-tempted by the peacock powder. It's stupid, but part of the reason I feel the need to get it is because it's packaged like the Spring Blush G, which I have. It's like they're a set or something. A very expensive set.

Michelle - The See's candies/chocolates are air flown to Macau, and also other parts of Asia, so I guess that is why they are so expensive here. It's a great treat for me! I think it is a good idea to go with the regular Meteorites first, especially since you don't like shimmery powders.

jmarie - I'm going to look at Gabrielle the next time I visit Guerlain! Enjoy your new lipstick!

bis - Yes the powder is very finely milled, but perhaps the meteorites are even finer? I have to look at the powder again.
