It was the Abalone suntint thing. Thanks for that link! Didn't expect to hear someone speaking my mother tongue, it was a nice surprise.
That's cool! Since you can understand what see was saying, what did she say? Did she like the liptint and shadow?

ive ONLY been invited once....how do u sign up for those?
I was invited too by a counter in Amsterdam. I received an e-mail. Even though this was my first invitation I am going to pass. Nearby is the Pro Store where I will be heading anyways. No event, just the goodies.... I do not quite understand how come I was invited since I never shop MAC at that particular counter. Perhaps via another counter in my area or because I made an online purchase. Dunno....

It depends on when the event is but I think I should probably go because I need to make some new friends lol. I'll already have my goodies from the Pro store though so there's a slim chance I'll be going to a event.

The invitations I've gotten in the past have been through either mail, e-mail, or as the +1 of someone else who was invited. However, for HS I haven't gotten anything... so I may just drop by my counter and see if they can write me in! This is a release party I'm determined to go to!

Make all your purchases, in preference spending a lot of $$$$, in one specific store rather than ordering online will do the trick.

It makes sense: Why give invitations to people who only order online but just come to swatch to a party but don't buy... those guys and gals need to meet their sales targets. :)

I'm not sure we're having a HS event. My counter is having a Mother's Day "seminar" on the 13th from 9 - 11 before the store opens. My SA said we could swatch HS since it should be there by the 13th.

I also buy EVERYTHING at this particular counter and even send my husband there for gifts, etc. They know my name and invite me to every event, tell me about product well in advance and let me swatch and put away my picks before the release date. There is nothing better than knowing the MAC counter staff as far as benefits.

I am invited to a HS event but it is over an hour away from me so I won't be going. I would love to go to an event sometime to see what they are like but I will just have to wait.

If I know a collection is coming out and there are launch parties I call all the local stores, find out which store is hosting the party and ask to be put on the list. Works every time. However, I don't like launch parties because they are so crowded and with all the commotion I wind up over buying. I would rather go to the store on launch day and take my time picking out what I want.

Here are two locations having the event that you don't need a formal invite to attend on June 1, 11:00.

170 O'Farrell St, San Francisco, CA
239 Los Cerritos Center, Cerritos, CA

Does the pro store have your e-mail or did you since up for the mailing list on the website? If so that probably why you got the mail.

So what was the verdict regarding if we can use our pro discount on this collection? I've only been a pro member since September so I'm not sure how these big summer collections work
