MAC for Marilyn

Not only does the packaging have to be amazing (much more so than the prototypes (?) we've seen, but the shades have to be REALLY FLATTERING on me in order for me to shell out that much money on this collection. I love Marilyn, but I really need to take a pause and reevaluate my wants vs need. Wouldn't it be nice if money grew on trees?

 thanks for posting this. ill probably get the dark mattes and the pink one, i already have scarlet ibis and do not need a back up. $16.50 for a lip pencil that is now $14?? richelle83 is right paparazziboy gave the color story and vino was the lip liner they used.

I am glad that I didn't listen to my MAC MA when she said beet lipliner was what was used to create the HC lip! I got excited when I saw it on this list thinking I would buy it, but now if it's not the liner in the HC image, I am glad I didn't buy it...and I certainly do not want to spend $16.50 on it if it's not the one!

I got excited when I saw it on this list thinking I would buy it, but now if it's not the liner in the HC image, I am glad I didn't buy it...and I certainly do not want to spend $16.50 on it if it's not the one!

Should you ever decide that you want Beet, I believe it's a permanent color! So, you could buy it and pay normal prices for it.

So I tried the Vino l/p + Fire Sign + Galaxy Rose CSG combo out of curiosity. It's beautiful. It gives your lips this juicy, luscious look. liba was right, I started smelling strawberries!

I don't have Beet yet, but I wouldn't say Vino is brown at all. It's very close to Currant in my opinion, except Vino has more red in it.

I don't have Beet yet, but I wouldn't say Vino is brown at all. It's very close to Currant in my opinion, except Vino has more red in it.

Must just be that swatch on the Mac site...I will have to investigate it more on my next MAC trip! I am staying away from there though for at least a few days to let my wallet recuperate! I only want a few By Request items from the website, but I fear Style Seeker and maybe the Marilyn release too (only more pics will tell on this one)!

Vino, Beet and Cherry are all perm lip pencils. The price increase for these is just because of the Marilyn licensing fee I'm assuming plus the special packaging otherwise it is the $14.50 and might go up to $15 due to the yearly or so price increase. Although I'm curious to see how the pencils will look.

Thank you so much Richelle83! I was totally stumped on that one. I guess that MA I dealt with didn't know her stuff! I am glad I didn't buy and that I let a different MA at a different store take my contact information for SS release. I had dealt with him on Hey Sailor and felt like he was more experienced!

I'm curious about the pencils too. I usually like how they do they packaging for the big summer collections as these are always colorful (and easy to find in my stash). I hope MAC pulls off a nice packaging for the MM pencils.
