MAC By Request discussion

Oh my the site is going so slow! I managed to add 7 things to my cart before it started crawling at a snails pace.
WHat are you getting?

And does anyone else think releasing By Request on 3 different days is absolutely STUPID?!?

I think it's nuts! Even with the shipping codes, it's annoying for those of us with men who now recognize the black boxes in the mail as MAC boxes. Since I just got orders from Ricky's and Hautelook, I'm getting my 5011 MAC boxes (and the Tarte one) sent to my job. LOL

Ya, my man gets annoyed when stuff arrives. But, he gets stuff sometimes too. Usually car stuff, which is pricey. He is also obsessed with the junkyard although he doesn't always buy anything but sometimes he does. I accept his interests so he should accept mine lol. Btw, my job is my home lol, I'm a stay at home mom so have no choice but to ship stuff here. One advantage tho is that things usually arrive while he's not home.

So I got an e-mail from mac stating my first of two orders was canceled. I ordered 6 CYY total (4 for first order, 2 for second order) . I've done this before with Red Racer (5) and Crew (5) specifically. I called MAC and the customer service rep refused to look up the status of my other order because she'd have to look up my e-mail and it would take too long and she'd have to call me back. She then grilled me why I needed 6 CYY and that she said it was unfair to order that many. I told her I've done that in the past and she said that doesn't seem right, given items selling on eBay, our policy is no more than 4, otherwise all orders would be canceled. These items you ordered must not be for personal use. I'm like OOK. I was trying to get some for CPs if anyone needed CYY, but guess MAC won't let me do that because they think I'm going to scalp them on eBay! Well MAC, good job looking out for those who aren't in my situation, but given that I've loyally bought from them for a while, I feel shoved into scalper section. I wasn't placing 3+ orders with 4 of each to build them by the dozen. /endrant. I'm going to gather the other order numbers and hope I speak to a different rep to get a status on my second order placed and make sure I can actually get my itmes before they sell out!

I blame them for not letting pro get it first and for not being smart and restocking approprietly

Oh happy day!!!!! This might not mean anything but i missed out on cyy and wanted it so bad so when i saw this collection had brought it back i was happy, then when i got to work this am (8:00 to be exact) i saw that is said buy now so i put in my order & lo and behold it went through along with moxie, i just looked and its SOLD OUT!!!!!!!! Im extra happy that i got 1!!!!!!!! yeah!!!! My day is made!!!!!!!

Oh no! Maybe someone on here has a spare one. Or I could try and get one for you when the collection releases here, which I assume will be in October, if you weren't able to get one until then. But it's always difficult to get things on the german site, everything sells out extemely fast. And of course german MAC prices are higher.

Maybe they're being stricter for this collection since not only is it online only, but also b/c it was determined by vote and they know that the demand will be higher than it typically is on eBay...?

That really sux. I'm figuring b/c of the amount they go for on evilbay that they caught on that you ordered 6. That's unfortunate and I hope you second order still goes through.

And maybe it's just me but i think that personally that it was a good call for them not to offer it to Pro first before the rest. It's a collection that was voted on by everyone and it was requested by non-pro holders and pro holders so it would of been unfair to those who have voted and did not get anything bc that portion of pro ordered it up.

I mean i guess at the end someone is going to lose one way or another. I didn't order greedily, i just ordered what i thought i would use.

Yeah, I just wish they didn't cancel the order where I got 4 of them. I would have had one CP, now I'm at 2 total, which I know is better than none, considering it's just sold out.
I totally get where they're coming from with the quantities, but the woman on the phone sounded angry and agitated she even had to answer my questions, and kept grilling me as to why I wanted to buy that many when they consider that more than 4 is "excessive and obviously not for personal use".

It's just so weird this time that they're not anticipating any restocks. Maybe they only made one for each vote that got counted and that's it.
