MAC By Request discussion

I only wanted 3 things and none of them were lipstick so I had a less stressful time than other people.

I also picked up CoC l/g & had not intended to purchase that one.

I so wish I would have picked up 2 CYY and 2 Moxie's instead of 1 each.

They are soooo precious to me now, I don't want to wear them!

I hate this collection (hehe.. just kidding). Because of this collection, it pulled me back into MAC and Specktra.. lol.. and I am in make up overload. It all started off with a simple email from MAC that I usually ignore.. but I decided to open it and it was about the By Request collection that I had no clue about. So I then went to Specktra to find out info.. and here is where I am now... all of which was purchased after that fateful email.. from the By Request collection I got all three lippies and two e/s (not Guac).

I'll be getting the 3 lipsticks and the 3 eyeshadows. At first i wasn't interested in Guacamole but after seeing the lovely swatches on here i just can't resist. I also don't have anything like it, so it will be a nice addition to my stash. Skipping the lipglasses, i really hope i won't regret it but i have wayyyy too many atm, numerous ones still unopened so yeah ..

I finally got CYY but still looking for Moxie. However, I did get a BU of Moth Brown when they did the microscopic restock. I am going to swatch the Barbie mothbrown versus the new mothbrown to see if they are really the same. They look different, but maybe its because the old one has a change in the surface texture from the brush marks? Has anyone noticed an appreciable difference between the two versions? At least CYY is the same!

Nope. This collection was a total fail for me and all I wanted was CYY. I was in the middle of moving and all the expenses that come with that. I plan on making up for it with the Holiday Collection though.

^Yikes, really sorry to hear that. Hopefully you'll manage to get a tube.The girls on here have been awesome with that dupe list. All I wanted were the lipstick and managed to get all 3 so I'm satisfied. I've been comparing all of my pinks and nothing is quite as bright/neon as CYY. Truly love it.

I got four things:
-- bait and flash of flash lipglasses - i've used each one over various MAC lipsticks. I still need to test them solo.
-- jeté eyeshadow, which i've worn
-- moth brown eyeshadow - when it looked as if it wasn't being restocked, a kind specktralette, purplerinne, sold me one. It just came a day or two ago and i haven't had a chance to wear it yet.

So far i'm happy with my purchases. The eye shadows are unlike others in my collection. I suspect the glosses are not radically different than others i have, but they are colors i definitely use.

CYY and the red lipsticks were absolute passes for me, although i keep pondering Rocker. I think i can wear dark bluish reds, just not bright, true, or orange reds.

The only thing I didn't get that I'd still like to try is CYY. Thinking of contacting a European Specktrette to see if someone would do a CP for me. I got Moxie and Rocker, all 3 lip glasses, Jete and Moth Brown. I haven't tried Rocker yet b/c I was waiting for Fall. I suspect it will look nice though. I'm not enamoured with the lip glasses. I was so panicked when I missed the l/s that I didn't realize the glosses were all frost.

I only got two items from this collection: Jete and Moth Brown. Jete has a beautiful finish but it was just a bit cool for me. I gave it to my daughter who is wearing it to death; it already has a slight dip. Moth Brown is the only greyish shade I own. I'm starting to pull it into rotation now and using it the way I would Satin Taupe.

i did. I wanted moxie and CYY and I got them both. For my lips, the texture of CYY just isn't working so I am thinking about selling it.

But i went through "so much" to get it I don't want to let it go. AND I really do love the color....

Why dont you wear it with some clear gloss?? it wont change the color.
