Count me in with the people who got screwed over. Did a presale at my normal counter. A few days later got an apology email from the SA who said due to the small amount of product they got they weren't going to be able to fill my pre order. I only wanted the BP and champagne shadow. I am by far one of the biggest customers of this counter and everybody knows me. I was assured multiple times that regular loyal customers would get their preorders. Then I found out it wasn't true and that people who had never shopped the counter got the goods. Oh well. More money for Chanel and Guerlain.

It was four of each lipstick for By Request. I believe that's MAC's policy for all items, but By Request was the first time I saw orders actually being cancelled.

I did ask an artist at my counter would they be able to receive/buy some items when the hype cooled down and she said yes that there was going to be additional items sent. I don't know if its just for them or the whole counter, but she said they would have a chance to get something but I don't know if its what they would want it to be. But yeah they are not allowed to buy items at the stores.

Yes, I think it's four of each. I was referring to in stores, I agree that there should be a limit as well, a smaller one than online though. Two of each seems enough IMO. If you want more BUs, there's the websites and other stores. It just would be fairer for everyone.

I got the my Nordstroms counter around noon and they were sold out of everything except the nail polishes. I don't think I've ever seen that happen at my counter. Honestly, I wasn't in love with any of the products, so no big loss for me.

If anyone can order off of Belk, would you mind CPing me another BP? 99421694 is supposedly a code good for 15% off your entire order, but I've tried ordering from three different browsers and two different credit cards, with and without the coupon code, and when I try to put my CC info in, it says "There was a problem with information you entered. Please see the highlighted areas below which need your attention." But nothing is highlighted? Maybe a BU of the BP and I are not meant to be.....

I tried to order with that coupon too and even though on their site it says that shipping for MAC is free, it wouldn't apply and it wouldn't apply when I tried to get 2 BP even though it says free shipping for Beauty over $50! I called them and they said third party coupon codes like that one don't work and will crash the site. Then she tried to charge me for shipping even though it says that it should be free and says that they would credit it back later, what a scam.

weird in my mac store they had pre orders and stock for regular people in the morning. they said that by 10:30 it was gone. but alot of people were waiting in the morning when they opened. i didnt ask if they could buy anything, but i have seen them buying from past collections. and if they cant buy from the store why not order from the pro website and then dont mac artist get free items from each collection???

i also believe that all the ebay sellers are mac pro costumers especially mac workers. which is just a shame.

i dont think that would change a thing, some people would still miss out and mac would still sell out like crazy. there is no way in telling if people that get 5 of each at a counter are selling in ebay or just doing cp's.

I was at Macy's by 10:20 this morning. They had sold out of all lipsticks except Pure Zen, Showgirl and The Perfect Cheek. They had a large bag of stock they were holding back for the Marilyn makeover event this weekend, but decided to use it to restock some of the sold out items. They are going to use substitute permanent colors for the makeover event. I got Love Goddess and Forever Marilyn. I (NW15) swatched Charmed I'm Sure and Scarlet Ibis on my hand to compare with some of my lipsticks at home. I could hardly tell the difference between Runaway Red and Charmed I'm Sure. Scarlet Ibis is close to Revlon's Fire & Ice and Colorburst in Coral, if you are looking for a similar color! Love Goddess is very close to Revlon's Cherries In the Snow.

I am sure those people who go to the event will be thrilled

I think it depends on the store. I've seen reports in this thread of no limit and reports of people only being allowed one or two of each item. It's just crazy. 99% of the time, I skip the stores. In my local one, things sell out fast and some of the staff has no idea what the items in the collection are.

I was a little overly chatty today because my mom fell & broke her hip & she was in surgery today - so I came here to chat with all you lovely makeup addicts to calm my nerves. But she is fine, & cracking jokes...yep, jokes. I guess thats where I get it from. She's 84 & the sweetest little mom ever. They have her walking already

That's good. It would be sad if they missed out on these products.

Mac knows exactly what they are doing. They should be ashamed.

When Urban Decay's Naked palette was released, there was so much hype and yes, it was sold out at some places, but ultimately, everyone was able to get their palettes. Till this day, the Naked palette is still popular and UD is making tons of money from it. I'm by no means comparing the Naked to MM, but it would do Mac some good to properly stock such a popular collection. Everyone would be able to get the items they want, thus buying more from Mac and this would stop all the evilbayers.

Back to makeup, though: I didn't go to Mac this morning, but I will go tomorrow. It'll be funny to go there and a couple of department stores in the mall to see what's left. It'll probably be just a nail polish and dazzleglass.

Good for you...just don't do what I did on my first driving test...I tried to make a left hand turn from the right lane

...but I have been driving for years and never had an accident. I won't drive in San Francisco though...too stressful for me. My husband has a class A license and can drive big rigs...I can hardly parallel park.
