Dior Cosmetics Discussion

Hm, almost picked up the dark one with gold shimmer today but the girl working in the makeup section of my drug store said that it had chipped on her after two days. Honestly, it's rare that I can get through a single day without some kind of wear showing, but she said that there were better options for a lot cheaper, so I reconsidered. What's everyone's thoughts generally on Dior polishes? Decent wear time?
I haven't got too many Dior polishes (10-12 tops), and most of them ones are ancient.

Lemon Balm and Waterlily are the only ones that are from the present range. Like StarrySim said, Waterlily is a tad thick. The colour is divine though, so I'm willing to overlook its consistency. Plus I got it for half price, yay! Lemon Balm on the other hand is an absolute dream

If you would like to splash out on HE polishes my advice would be to consider the likes of Rescue Beauty Lounge and Deborah Lippmann. Dior, Chanel, YSL et al. aren't worth the price, IMHO.

... which, incidentally, happens to be the queen of all foundation brushes past, present and future!
I must admit I sort of cringed when I saw Dior's way back when it was launched with the Nude collection! But Diorskin Nude will be my next foundation purchase!

I purchased nude two days ago. I have been using old version for a while in shade 021 which is slightly darker than my skin so i was always made that they did not have 011 for the usa (it was available in EU). Finally now when they released the whole new line i was able to get 011
honestly i do not see any difference between old and the new version of the foundation

and i still like lancome teint miracle better

Trying out the new Nude foundation today (I've picked up a ton of foundation samples lately- determined to find my HG). I quite like it. My skin feels just a teensy bit oily, but I blame that on the gross air in my office. I've had some shine on my nose, which is par for the course, but nothing else. Found this one blended exceptionally easily compared to other foundations- and I wouldn't say I've come across that many that are difficult to blend, but this one stood out to me as being easy to work with. I can't compare it to the old formula, but I do like this one a lot.

Katred - I love the Dior Nude foundation but they don't make my shade :( shade 022 and 023 are the closest but not perfect. Pity coz I really like the formula.

Btw, anyone in Canada seen the Dior Holiday Collection? I really want a couple of the polishes and one of the red lipsticks though I'm sure I have dupes for them. They just look too great to pass up

The collection has been out at The Bay for a few weeks now.

In Toronto, some of the Bay counters are already sold out of the nail polishes. But many of the Shoppers Drug Mart still have them in stock.

Thanks for your thoughts, I suspected there wasn't much difference between the old and new versions. I tried Lancome Teint Miracle before, and it was very oily on me. Strange because my skin is normal to dry and I haven't had any foundations that felt oily on me, and I've heard great things about Teint Miracle. I wonder if it was a spoilt sample, so maybe I should try it again. Lancome Teint Maqui Miracle (Asia only) was much better on my skin.

Miss qq you see, nude is still little a bit too dry for me on certain areas of the face. that's why i love teint miracle it does not enhance dryness at all.
and teint miracle is the only one that's actually really glowy
all the other foundations claim they are but they are not compared to teint miracle

i will post review and swatches soon

Did anyone happen to see the cruise collection of nail polishes offline (the link was posted above sometime ago)? I can see that it's available at Dior.com but they do not ship to Canada:)
MN, Nordstrom and the ones ship to Canada but don't have the collection online. I am thinking maybe it's Dior.com exclusive?

Is anyone using Diorskin forever compact foundation? I loved the texture but I am wondering does it feel dry on skin? I usually use MAC studio fix powder but it enhances my dry areas. I need powder foundation when i do not have a lot of time, just for quick makeup.

It's on the French website but I don't think they're exclusive to Cambon and Montaigne. Allura Beauty said date of release was November, 5. On Sephora US there is the Grand Bal Collection, I guess the Cruise trio will be launched soon maybe late November ?
We don't have them in France yet, but I'll check that out.

Thanks Dominique! It would be very helpful if you let me know when it's in stores. Yes, I saw it on Dior.com international, but did not see it in stores. I also saw the release date as November 19. So, maybe Nov 5 was for online release, and Nov 19 - for offline. At least I hope that's the case. The colours looks so vibrant!

I'm sorry you can't deal with the scent, Winthrop. I wish I had a dupe I could give you, but I don't. I don't own anything quite like it. Lucky for me the scent pretty much disappears after 5 minutes or so. There was a time I refused to wear Chanel b/c I couldn't deal with their scent.

Hello Ladies, will anyone be willing to help me getting Dior Cruise nail polishes (Mango, Lime and Pasteque)? I am in Canada and the collection is only available on Dior.com. If you could be my nail polish fairy, please send me a PM. Many thanks in advance!

I haven't seen this collection yet but it's no exclusive to Dior boutiques so I guess you'll have them soon. This collection is originally for women/girls who go on holiday in a sunny warm place, hence the name Cruise so I do hope Dior is going to sell internationally but I think so, as many US blogs already swatched it or at least talkek about this nail polishes trio.
