MAC In Extra Dimension Collection 2013 (April 2013)

I gave up on catching up too - heck, I didn't even post when I picked all my goodies up. I'm definitely loving everything - especially the shadows!

Try At Dusk for sure, for something incredibly natural, but still giving a bit of a pink flush to the cheeks. I love Bareness too, but that is more of a nude cheek, without the "blushing" effect. You could totally pull it off, if you're looking for a more high fashion look or want something different from things you might already have. I love Flaming Chic too, for something bright and cute.

All of them are so great on older skin - to me, that's the best thing about the Extra Dimension products.

You're so correct about At Dusk Liba!! I wore a smokey eye look today and At Dusk was a great choice w/Snob lipstick.

If I was forced to pick a favorite blush from this collection, it'd be At Dusk (good thing I don't have to play favorites).

Got my package with Opalesse and Triple Impact EDES today as well as Flaming Chic and Blazing Haute ED Blushes! Now waiting for Zestful, Double Definition and Shape The Future EDSFs to come.

I have that brush too, but I'm turning into a brush whore and this is giving me an excuse to buy the hourglass brush. LOL

I used the 128 today just to try a couple of my newbies, and I was stunned that I didn't have any problems whatsoever picking up product. I didn't even incur the "waxy" coating about which several people noted.

Go figure!!

My Mac powder blushes last all day on me . . .but looks like I need to go back and pick up duplicates for my purse.

I never touch up my MAC blushes.

Once I'm done applying--it stays put!!! Very cute rationalization for buying more blush

A look for Zestful:

While I was at MAC last Thursday, I was checking out a MUA do a look with Zestful on this guy. She applied Painterly PP all over, packed Zestful on the lid, used Brown Down in the crease and lined with Blacktrack f/l.

Let me tell you right now... This look was AWESOME! Zestful GLOWED on him!
I mean seriously glowed, it looked like one of those glowsticks was applied to his lids. LOL! I couldn't quit staring at his eyes, he looked FIERCE!

Ya know, the fluidlines make an awesome base, so i wouldn't be surprised if she meant blacktrack.

I was thinking the same thing. I used blacktrack long before I purchased my Blackground paint pot.

Amazing haul--looking forward to some of your lovely photos using your goodies!!!

I got my ED goodies saturday and that was some haul. It's quicker to say what I didn't get

So I didn't get Extra Silver and Dimensional Blue and the brushes cause I already had those. I was thinking about a BU of the brushes, but decided against it since it was already a huge haul. I also got Hi-Def Cyan Chromagraphic Pencil and Lip Erase. I've wanted Hi-Def Cyan for quite some time and I love it! I tried it with Heroine like suggested in one of the threads and it makes a gorgeous blue purple! I'm not sure about Lip Erase anymore after trying it on my lips. I did like it swatches, but it seems to settle into liplines and lipstick doesn't go on as nice as it normally does.
I already tried all 4 EDES and they are great! Triple Impact, Zestful and Opalesse have a transparent quality to them that makes they great for neutral looks that still have a bit of colour. The transparent quality doesn't mean not opague, it's just the finish and I think they are meant to be this way. Smokey Mauve had a different finish together with Dimensional Blue and Extra silver and was more shiny and opague. I think my favorite is Opalesse, because of the duochrome. I didn't think I would like it so much as a highlighter, but it's fantastic!
From the EDSFs I've tried STF and Double Def so far. I love Double Def as a bronzer highlight combo and STF as blush highlight combo. The darker parts are less shimmery and that makes them work as a blush/bronzer for me. I love the look of Def Def also and I can't wait to try it. The lighter part is lighter than any of the other EDSF and I was hoping for one that was lighter!
I also tried Bareness and Fiery Impact blushes. I think the blushes are less pigmented than Mac's normal powder blushes, but I'm still really pleased with them. I'm very pale, so I have no problem making them show and the finish is lovely!

I. LOVE. ZESTFUL. I agree 100% with Shellcat that it glows! I used it in a look the other day, putting it on the inner half of my lower lashline (with Bio-Green on the outer half) and it is such a stunning color! I have so many green e/s, and I can safely say I have nothing like Zestful in my collection. I'm tempted to buy a b/u...

On another note, two bombs went off at the Boston marathon. I hope that anyone on here and anyone they know is safe. I have a close friend who's doing her phD at Harvard and I don't think there would be any reason that she would be there, but I am still worried that I cannot get through to her on her phone. My thoughts are with those affected.

I heard that many people are unable to get through on cell phones because everyone is trying to get in touch with their loved ones to check on them. Have you tried sending a text? Those usually have more luck getting through. I'll keep her in my thoughts, and I hope you can reach her soon.

I haven't used Triple Impact yet but it's so beautiful, I can't wait to use it. I'm obsessed with Double Definition, it leaves such a gorgeous glow on my cheeks. I've used it every day since I've purchased it. I'm an NC30, if anyone was wondering.




These are my crappy swatches, lol. I'm so sorry but I tried. The top swatch is of Triple Impact which is so hard to capture. It's so beautiful and the pictures do not do it justice. You have to swatch it in person to really appreciate it. The bottom 3 swatches are of Double Definition. First 2 of the separate colours, and the third, both blended together.

Oh yeah, there are about four MUA males at my MAC store as well. I have seen a few males in there getting makeovers here and there. I think this guy was a friend of hers, we were all chatting, and JUST DAMN he had wonderfully groomed brows and his eyes were gorgeous!!!

I didn't run into any of that coating or fingerprinty stuff either. You've been using your EDBs over foundations mostly? The color of all of them really comes out strongly when I've used them over some sort of base. It does seem like people are able to get their weird coatings dealt with, at least, but I definitely think these blushes look best over foundation. I also like applying them with the 128 split fiber brush that came with this collection - my usual 188 doesn't spread on the product the same way - I think thick brushes that can sort of "smear" it into the cheek let the color come better than brushes that stipple or "pat" the color lightly on the surface of the cheek.

I've been placing with the 128 and then blending in with my beloved split fiber kabuki, if necessary. That split fiber kabuki is also my go-to for buffing the EDSFs to a high sheen, too. Wish they'd bring that one back so everyone can have one!
