I think it's about the hype and snagging the 'ungettable, get.' If you don't have the cool item you're not one of the cool people. If you don't make it to a concert no one is the wiser. But pull that shiny LE compact or lipstick from your purse and someone recognizes it-----and you're one of the cool people.

After 2 hours on an ipad and iPhone I got Nada. I ended up cp'ing from someone who managed to get a few of them but it cost me $50. MAC is seriously my crack....:shock:

:nods: It's funny, but MAC is the only item, that I'm aware of, that people get furious when they miss out on LE items. But they don't with concert tix, SE shoes, etc. i dont get it :dunno:

Well my dear...I get mad about.... the SHOES!!!!

I get mad about concert tickets! And pretty much everything MU-related lol. Like last week I finally decided to buy the Chanel poudre signee powder and it was still on the Chanel 'shelf' but they didn't have it anymore!! And I wanted something else and they didn't have that either argh.

I actually think they should keep the virtual waiting room, after fixing some of the bugs of course. Here's my take on it. After seeing numerous collections where people complain about having to stalk and/or miss out on LE items because they sold out within hours, this method seems to be giving more people a chance to get what they want. This collection would've definitely sold out within the first hour of launch or faster. There would be a ton more people angry and upset about not getting anything at all. At least this way, more people have a chance to actually get the item. This is the biggest complaint that I often see and MAC has taken steps to address that. I poke fun at MAC sometimes, but it seems like they can't win no matter what they try. This is their first time using this method, so there are bound to be some bugs and glitches. Yeah, the long wait times are annoying, but I'm pretty sure more people got the lipstick than who would have gotten it otherwise in a regular launch.

That's really cool that you got some for your mom and daughter. I'm thinking of buying a MAC lipstick for my sister's graduation next spring, perhaps a Viva Glam or a Ruby Woo.

My daughter is a cosmetology student and she graduates in June. I am currently her only means of being able to furnish her kit but I don't mind because she is so darn good at what she does. I tend to buy mainly LE products for her personal use. LE Mac products tend to go over well as gifts. I like to tell them "This is very hard to get" or " This is soldout everywhere"; that makes them feel so special. Viva Glams and Ruby Woo are all great options also.
