Having worked in retail, I am always respectful to CS reps. They are not the business moguls and theirs is often a thankless job. However, it's not their job to dish out lectures on fairness (like they did to me), blame customers/makeup boards (like they did to others) and deliver bad news ("we are intercepting orders off UPS trucks") with a touch of smugness. As the CS rep, you can be respectful, sympathetic, and resist the urge to blame customers. Maybe I am showing my age, but I come from an age where businesses believe, "The customer is always right."
I agree, and I was not opining on those specific issues. Let's not do the age thing---I've been around
long enough and a consumer of many things and also come from the
'Customer is always right' until they're not camp too.

My one and only "legitimate" order still says pending but Im sitting on my desk with my email and the mac site open, and I feel like I'm sitting outside the OR room waiting for bad news to arrive

I'm about to call CS...I choose the Spanish operators, they are more friendlier! Well to me anyways! I hope I don't have to b*tch anyone out, I'm PMSing and I will lash out, haha. I feel so bad for everyone's orders being canceled but like another lovely poster commented, MAC is just so much more to me than a brand (with sh*tty IT/CS) and it would be insanely difficult to leave it. I don't buy something from everything collection and sometimes I'm so busy with life that I forget about makeup and MAC, but whenever I look at my makeup...just can't help but to think about it. ): they are definitely letting me down...I'm glad I'm not so makeup crazy as I was a couple years back...SIGH.... And to whoever snitched...WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND YOU *****!!! I really think MAC collection posts should be for members only...): gah....

I have a different opinion. I don't think MAC is trying to accommodate anyone with cancelled orders. In fact, they seem to be making the situation worse by going back and canceling orders that were made after 12pm. I also think that MAC should have had some inkling of what to expect with this release based on their experience from the first RiRi collection, as well as all of their other limited edition collections in the past. I would also think that brands like Chanel are more widely known throughout the world than MAC.

I just checked my account after reading Shontay's post about her intercepted package. Sure enough, my reorder that I placed at 2:13pm EST after my pre-noon orders were cancelled was also cancelled. I still have two other orders pending, but we'll see how that goes. I shouldn't be surprised. MAC has repeatedly shown me time and time again that they don't value or respect their customers, that their completely incompetent at handling their own collection releases, and utterly inept at making any attempts to correct their past failures.
CC This ^ was really what I tried to focus the CS lady on, not the link. She was entirely focused on this board & the link. I told her, I've ordered on launch days for years & there are always glitches in the system. Links, add to cart buttons, items etc. appear & disappear all the time. The product is there then it isn't, its in cart then it isn't, you refresh & there it is again, so for us that order all the time, if the item is visible, we are going to try to order it - that simple.

I think for her it was a turning point from the link story - it was another point of view that honestly cs was not hearing. It was that & the ebay thing. Thats when she honestly admitted the launch was disastrous (her words).

Snakes.......eew

i honestly really dont understand why they are doing this. i think itll make more sense if they keep it pending until they figure things out before just cancelling it all completely. at 10 am my orders still said pending but now i am scared to look because theyve been canceling stuff left and right. i still havent recieved an email about my canceled orders before 12 but i did see those were cancelled yesterday.

my question is though should blushes and lustre drops be in stock now that theyve been canceling people who had this in their orders?

I really want RRW and RRB but this has been a nightmare! I worked in an inbound call center that dealt with crisis situations and we never handled a situation so poorly. Orders cancelled, lecturing callers, pulling orders after they have shipping numbers??? The mgmt team that handled this release essentially put their front line people in front of an oncoming 18 wheeler and said 'just stand there, it will be okay.'

Hello Ladies, I'm a newbie too. I decide to join to keep up with new collections and such, I found this site doing a search on when the mac heroine lipstick will be back and i saw this Riri post. I really wanted the lipsticks and I was stalking mac for like a whole week, I was on before 12 and Omg 3 times I got to submit final order and I got gateway time out. I was so pissed, but i kept on trying and I had about 4 open screen on 3 p.c and also on my phone, kinda shame about being that desperate lol but my order finally went through. I hope it won't be cancelled. I just want to know do MAC do this all the time with their collections? Because this is madness

I doubt it. They're JUST getting around to sending backorder emails. What I'm thinking is that they realized the whole early link and then starting cancelling orders left and right. With all those items that were canceled, they are just going to give them to someone who ordered after noon. That's why they emailed us until today with the backorder BS...I know the link was only for the lippies but for me, a bunch of the members were saying on their browser it was saying the drops were sold out but for me, no matter how many times I refreshed, they showed in stock..... They seriously took this link thing for their advantage, even if it wasn't told, they'd get all those lipsticks sold....eh whatever. /:

I believe that every order that went through popsugar link got cancelled regardless if the order was placed before or after launch.. I think that because the night before I placed 2 orders one with riri and the other order had AAO items and bronze eye shadow and that got cancelled too.. my 3rd order was placed from the office after launch (cookies cleared) got through and was shipped today.. Of course, I could be wrong...

As far as this forum, mac should give specktra members discount... do they know how much make up I bought from them because I read about it here?!!!
