Tom Ford Beauty Discussion

Sorry to barge in out of the blue however a NM rep in Bal Harbor has the last Pink Fade for me to pick up there today after my Mac event at 2pm. I want to 'look' at their blushes while I am there. I haven't seen TF anything in person yet so I was wondering which blushes are more suited for darker skintones. Savage , Flush or anything else? I value your honest and unbiased opinions while I am just looking. Don't want to start anything I can't finish!
I have Savage, Ravish, Narcissist, Wicked, and Flush. Savage is my all time favorite.

Most stores I called just had one PH left but they were all so far away!!! The shipping fees were ridiculous so I just went for the drive. Tolls were cheaper plus I got the in- person experience. I am not sure about the exact name of the gloss tho. Next month when I get the GC and go back I will look closer. I really do like TF but I need to say away! I just looked at BA in the store and once I saw and touched the tester it called my name. BA appealed to me the most . I think that the lady said it is perm . Artifact PP may go well with some of the colors in the BA pallette. You need to use yours!!!! I only tried on the primer duo over a greenish pallette but the eyeshadow was too shimmery even tho I love the emerald color. I did try the two blushes and WV gloss. I also swatched both glosses on my hand.

Yes, you have to be careful and not go crazy. I need to take my own advice. Although pricey, I do think the shadow quads are good value for what you get. They are a nice size, pigmented, and all the color seem to work in the quad so you are paying a little under $20 a color and mac has lots of shadows that price. Well, that's how I rationalize. I will say I haven't regretted a single purchase so far.

The greenish palette sounds like the one I want to get. I don't think it was emerald though. Unless you are talking about Emerald Lust - another quad I thought was gone. If you can, find out when you get your GC if they are doing any makeovers for the Beauty Event. The MA I got at an event showed me how to use the quad I got for day and evening looks. He pressed the glittery shade on with fingers over everything at the end. It looks pretty good that way. I either do that or use those Mac silicone applicators.

Ooh! I would have loved some mini lipsticks. Are they in the same kind of packaging as the regular lipsticks?
Yes! I will try to take pics! I got 2 Casablancas and one Cherry Lush. Too cute!

ETA: Decided to wear In the Pink trio today. I had to darken the crease a bit with a different shadow to make everything pop. Great natural eye look. She Wolf is for tomorrow.

I think Saks in Dadeland Mall, Kendall Miami may still have Pink Haze. Will call today too. I think the shipping was $15 plus taxes etc . I will confirm when I get a chance soon. I realized that I had mixed up the blushes in my original post, Ravish Blush is one that stands out the most for me. Savage was more subtle and very slightly blended in a bit with my skintone but was still obvious and nice. Purple Popcorn, you are absolutely right about Ravish blush!!! I just found the business card I ws searching for with some jottings I had made. IceCaramellatte the glosses are indeed N0 4 Pink Guilt and No 09 Wet Violet. I have the saleperson contact data written on the card so I can call her directly for any future concerns.
Yeah when I looked at your pic, I said Ravish would be perfect. You made me want Pink Haze lol, so I had my SA track it down and its on its way. We're such enablers lol. I usually pass up cream shadows since I have oily lids which is why I wasn't interested when it was released but since In The Pink trio didn't work for me, Pink Haze is a great alternative.

Get the new primer duo and you will be set with the oily lid issue!!! You will love PH. I saw the pics and had an instant lemming for it. Cannot believe I am in this thread. Sneaking quietly out on tippy toes, lol

lol when I went checked out the fall collection, my SA used the primer but I wasn't impressed with it. I use Laura Mercier concealer to prime my eyes and it works out great for me.

I am fighting the urge to order the quads now. I have enough new eye makeup to last me a while, but I am always afraid that products will sell out/disappear. What to do?

I could check my local NM and see if they still have Pink Haze if you're still looking for it. Yazmin that would be awesome!
I'll call them tomorrow and will let you know.
Just called them and they are sold out of Pink Haze. I was hoping they'd still have it - heck, they still had Narcissist blush when I was there a couple of weeks ago.

Thanks for shoot out Katred, I was wondering what everyone else think about TF nail polishes, I find the quality not as good as some other brands (Chanel, Dior, YSL) but the price is higher...
I actually get better wear from TF np as compared to Chanel. I can get a week or so wear with TF before I feel compelled to touch up or change my polish. I usually like to change about once every week or two weeks anyway just to liven things up. Chanel chips within a day or two most of the time. I don't have a lot of YSL or Dior np, so I don't feel confident comparing these brands to TF.

One fall product that I have really been surprised by is In the Pink. It is a fabulous base palette to mix with other colors. I have been using this product a lot.
I agree. I wore She Wolf on its own the other day. I really liked it. I thought the 2 palettes would work together well.

I plan on trying She Wolf in combination with In the Pink. I also used In the Pink with Orchid Haze the other day.

ETA: I tried the primer, which did help my shadows last. I also get the same result with UDPP for a lot less $$.

Some swatches of all three quads- Lavender Lust, Seductive Rose and Orchid Haze- from The Beauty Look Book

http://www.thebeautylookbook.com/2013/09/tom-ford-lavender-lust-seductive-rose.html

They're all quite lovely. Orchid Haze remains my most wanted of the three, but the other two are nice as well.
