it's amazing how it has launched in uk and not here very jealous. home u enjoy  them!!! did it launch 24 or after midnight over there?

I ordered just after 3pm on Christmas eve on the uk site! Order status still in warehouse, but hopefully with premium delivery I'll get my goodies before NYE!

It's the same as underwear, hygiene reasons .. Doesn't matter if they were never open they get thrown out, the store I work at is final sale on underwear, also earrings..someone can say they never touched them but we can't guarantee that and be reliable .. Food as well, if it left store, we don't know what happened to it so it gets thrown out.. Sealed or not

Exactly! We could make an exception if we sold an item to a customer and they changed their mind but never left the counter. Then we could guarantee the item was still sealed, never opened and never left our sight because they never left the counter. Then we could void the transaction like it never happened. But if the customer walked around the corner, or if the artist went and helped another person and walked out of eyesight of the customer even if for 2 minutes, that item was returned and damaged out.

I totally get that... hygiene is VERY important. But then why have a display where everyone can try on the lippies and then put it back...for others to try on again right after you?? And have you seen the lipsticks that are on display??? If they are going to be cautious and sanitary, then be that way all the way thru. Be like the drugstores and try on after you make the purchase. I might the the outsider on this but some of their methods doesn't make sense to me.

I'll keep my Macy's order. And just try to get Punk Couture and the creamsheens from mac since I already have Hautecore and the other lipsticks don't particularly interest me, just getting them because I want to start collecting. I'm glad I know that now, that would've really been wasteful.

When I spoke to MAC Canada yesterday, they told me the collection wasn't launching early. I thought she meant that it wasn't launching during business hours on the 23rd, but now I'm thinking it will be post midnight on Christmas Day. I don't know what time it went up on the UK site, but they're several hours ahead of us.

All returns get damaged out, shipped out, and trashed. It's for sanitary reasons. Even if it's not used, you can't guarantee someone didn't sneeze on it, lick it, or who knows what else!

I totally agree with this policy - when a customer comes to buy a product it should be fresh off the shelf, not something that could have been exposed to sunlight, hot car/room temperatures, and left lying around in someone's home for weeks. Not to mention that the expiry period after opening commences when it was opened which likely would have occurred when it was sold to them if the SA bothered to check the condition of the item and they would have definitely opened it at home when deciding whether to return it. It's a shame that stock is wasted in a sense but MAC could easily produce more so I am all for this policy.

well im up and waiting. its annoying getting through just the normal hours of the day bc im so sick..and then I have the f5 button refreshing every couple mins. Im going insane.

Testers are used at the customers discretion , they know they've been used , etc. *shrug*

You can safely sanitize lipsticks (and all cosmetics) for customers to try on. Practicing proper sanitation when demoing and applying cosmetics is a whole different situation. Selling unopened, unused cosmetics guarantees safe, uncontaminated products. If i sell you a brand new item, you can't come back and tell me it gave you herpes. But if i sell you a lipstick that was previously sold and returned, even i told you that it appeared to have been unused when it was returned, my ass would be grass if you came back and said you bought it and it gave you herpes, because i knowingly sold you an item that wasn't brand new. Now with regards to trying on testers. Because i follow proper counter practice and sanitation with every item i try on customers, I'm still covered if you come to me saying you caught something from my testers. Do you see the difference?

I am bummed about Instigator. It's really dark and close to Nars Train Bleu on my lips. I don't see as much purple. PC just compliments my skin tone better, I am NW43. PC has that wow factor for me. I love Studded Kiss as well.

I just tried on my Instigator and I'm kinda disappointed, too. It just isn't as vibrant as I wanted. I have several similar colors already. I'm keeping it because I do love a dark lip but it didn't wow me. I'm NC42 and I skipped PC and now I'm semi-regretting it. On some people it looks like this deep, but vibrant, grape juice color, and on others it looks like a bright barney purple, which I'm not really feeling. I wish I could try these in-store...

I'm surprised I'm still awake! I took some lovely pain killers that i was sure would knock me out but I'm WIDE awake! So stalk i shall!
