So far, the only perk of being VIB Rouge is free shipping on everything. The Rouge program has largely been somewhat of a joke. I'm a VIB Rouge, and I don't even get emails about Rouge exclusives since I became Rouge.
Ain't this the truth. I have enjoyed the free shipping, but not much else has impressed me. I have not gotten any of the e-mails for the free deluxe samples mentioned upthread and the Rouge discount was the same as everyone else's last November. Plus, there is never enough quatitiy on the VIB Rouge exclusinve items. I have yet to be able to buy one, and I stay on it. And, this is a bit of a whine, but seriously, they really could have given a full-sized Bite lipstick with the welcome package.

I 100% agree, and I don't think that there's much difference between VIB and VIB Rouge yet. The big thing for me is that they advertised it as being so "next level" with all these amazing perks etc and it's really been VIB with free shipping. I couldn't care less about those makeover sessions or whatever, I hate other people doing my makeup (maybe I'm weird, but it's like my special little hobby, I like to do it myself) and the "perks" are always gone in a few seconds. And I agree about the Bite lipstick too! I don't see why that wasn't full sized. Again, real "top level" and "exclusive"

Companies like Ipsy can manage to send out full sized products every month, I don't understand why Sephora can't make some kind of deal for nice full sized items and have enough of them for all their VIB Rouges. They seem to always have the birthday gifts for the whole year (I'm a November bday and I've never missed that because it was all gone already) so I just don't get why they don't seem to be able to apply those techniques to their Rouge system

Thank you! Yeah, Sephora needs to step it up. It's competitive out there, in the beauty world. They need to stand out more. But then again, I feel this way about many beauty brands. Except for Illamasqua. I'm pretty impressed with them and their creativity.

Kind of off track but I have a question... What is exactly the difference between VIB and VIB Rouge? And is it any better? I'm a VIB and I'm at 667 points.
So far it's the free shipping on everything which is really nice, so you don't need to spend 50$ to get free shipping when you just want to get that 25$ or 35$ free perk :) Last year it was the same for rouge and for VIB but they said that will change this year. For example this year's birthday gift contains an extra item for VIB Rouge, but VIB has the same as BI. So far they did just one promo where they send 4 different emails, two to get free deluxe samples and two to get free fullsize items(the dior one sold out in an hour but the nars one was available for a whole week). I can't wait to see what they have in store next, I really hope they will do a better discount that they were supposed to do last year but didn't!

The free shipping is nice for Canadian buyers since we don't have to spend $75 to order. It would be so awesome if Sephora would let Rouges redeem 2 promos or get more samples per order. Not trying to be greedy, but when you think of how much $1000 is and the fact that tons of people have already re-qualified in 2014, that kind of justifies more perks doesn't it?

The recent Rouge exclusive event & Hourglass blush early access are positive indication that they will improve the program this year. So crossing my fingers that Sephora will actually make it worthwhile to spend my money here!

I'm a vib rouge but am thinking of taking my business elsewhere. This may seem petty but I recently posted 2 reviews on the sephora site for eye makeup removers, one that I loved and one that I hated. The good review was posted the same day but the not-so-good was never posted. I left another review thinking maybe there was an internal error. Nope, that one was never posted either. That seems shady to me. I rely heavily on reviews for some things because I don't live near a sephora so the fact that they manipulate product reviews bothers me enough to say "Hey ULTA"...

This is alarming! I tend to rely on review as well. I mean I try to be realistic and do not take seriously a few good reviews, but when I see several dozens and all are decent, that makes me buy a product! I guess the only place I can get a fair review now is Specktra :)

Technically it isn't even free shipping because there are multiple posts of Rouges getting their orders cancelled bc it's either too frequent or too small dollar amount. Lots of discussion about that in the Sephora community forums right before Christmas last year when it happened to alot of people.

So true. It would've been fine if they'd given us conditional free shipping in the first place (AKA One purchase with free shipping per week for the year, or something like that), however they did promise us unlimited free shipping. So........

I don't even make many purchases online from Sephora, but even so, if I did and they tried to revoke the shipping perk, I would be so angry. They're creating customer service issues for themselves.

I agree though about how it seems they're genuinely trying to increase their efforts this year. Those perks that they released in January were good ones, which is the reason why everyone got so upset that there weren't enough to go around. It's a work in progress.

I hadn't heard about the shipping weirdness, I would be really angry if that happened to me. I do separate orders sometimes bc I'll run out of something and then not realize I'm low on something else and have to make another order. I've always gotten the free shipping so far though, no issues

Tangentially related, but what is the American equivalent of winners/marshalls (or do you have them down there?). Still planning for my trip :p

We do have Marshalls but we don't have Winners. Other stores like Marshalls in the US are TJ Maxx and Ross

Who sent my stupid tail into the Sephora today to purchase Shiseido Facial Cotton and Koh Gen Do Cleansing Spa Water. I think I've fostered a bad habit with these two products. The cotton is some of the softest stuff I've ever placed on my face. It doesn't leave behind lint or any fuzz after use. I used one square per eye to remove my eye makeup today and my brows! Now on to the Cleansing Spa Water. SHUT THE FRONT DOOR this stuff is great!!!!! It reminds me of my beloved Embryolisse Lotion Micellaire. It got everything off with a pass of a saturated cotton pad and the second pass grabbed what ever was left behind. You don't have to rinse it off. My face feels clean after it's use. When this tiny costly bottle is used up I'm going to suck it up and grab the even larger bottle.

It looks like Sephora will be phasing out Korres(maybe only the makeup part and not skincare) and Edward Bess

^ I love Edward Bess but I always buy his products from Bergdorfs. I thought it was great when Sephora picked up the line but also wasn't sure how well it would sell, I guess that confirms my suspicions
