I've had a busy day all day with the invitations printing and all that (which is a mess and I'm going to have to print them myself!) but catching up on this thread and hearing everyone's pet stories puts me in a good relaxed mood :)

Me too i LOVE all animals. I had pet snakes, anole lizards, a chamelean, lil froggies, lil turtle, parakeets, cockatiels, blue and gold macaw, finches, mice, hamsters, gerbils, rabbits, guinea pigs, dogs, cats, fish including a koi!!! I loved them all very much. They are lil angels sent from heaven to watch over us and guide us. I have mad respect for all things living. Living on a farm was always a dream of mine. I sooo want a pygmy goat, and a lil piggie.
Wow! So many animal lovers on here. I'm a cat lover myself as well. Grew up with them all my life and just recently found out I'm allergic to them:( I teach middle school and we have a problem with kids torturing and killing stray cats and kittens at school. It happens almost weekly. I can't tell you how disturbing it is! My mom always said, you can tell a lot about a person by the way they treat an animal. So true.

huh you should write the names of those kids down. they are clearly disturbed and just uhh F-ing crazy.

I personally Love both Cats and Dogs. i had Dogs in my home Country since Our house over there is big and with alot of patio for them to run around. Here we have cats since My health is not ideal to be walking a dog out & around. and there is not enough space.

Both my parents call my cat Zizou their Grandchild

Did that help? I've always known it to be the saliva that you're actually allergic to, not the hair.
YES you couldn't be more Right.

People are allergic to a Protein found in their saliva. and We all know they just like to lick themselves.
it can be avoided by taking the right allergy medication(antihistamine) and by showering the pet more often. OR you can get the medication by a shot periodically. Brushing the pet also helps.

Dander is like animal Dandruff which is found more on Old Pets and can Be avoided by showering/cleaning the pet more often. Also giving the pet a better diet to keep the pets coat more healthy and minimize Dander.

I have read a Shit ton of Books on animal care. My mom always buys them so we can learn more about the pets and care better for them.

I am very allergic to a lot of stuff (pollen, grasses, trees, cats, fruit, etc) and my eyes used to swell completely shut just about everyday in the spring. I practically lived on Benadryl and slept the days away as a kid because nothing helped. I ended up getting the allergy shots, which decreased my allergies a lot. Let me tell you though, they are a pain because you have to go 2x a week and you cannot miss any shots unless you want to start over. I still have allergies, but now I just have to deal with itchy eyes and a lot of sneezing.

Yes! My allergies developed after my first pregnancy too! Luckily my dad kept my cat for me. He's still taking care of her and she turned 14 years old this month! As for those little evil Jeffrey dahmer's in the making, my school administration is well aware of who the kids are that are killing/ torturing animals. I don't know if or how they are punishing the students. I happened to see the torture firsthand on one occasion and I could not get it out of my head for over a month. I couldn't sleep. I just could not believe a child could inflict that kind of harm upon an animal.

i think that because of my medical history , i find 2 shots to be easy and just super easy
girlhaha.gif

Sorry you are allergic to all those things. it most be really hard on you!

Sorry to ask, but i wonder if giving yourself the shots would be easy? I had to do that for other medication and i was trained several times by the nurses.
i feel qualify to shot myself and others.

Going to the hospital 2x week does sound like a pain in the butt.

I would lose it! One of my boys hit my 15 year old cat ONE time. He has never been afraid of me as he was then. I had to send him to his room so I wouldn't explode on him.

It was really hard for me when I was a kid because I couldn't go outside at all in the spring, but the shots improved my allergies a lot. The doctor did recommend that I do another round of shots to see if it would get rid of them completely.

I honestly don't know if they would let me do them myself because I finished my first round of shots when I was like 11 or 12 I think. I seem to remember seeing adults getting shots where I went, so they might not be willing to do it. It certainly would be a lot easier if I decided to do another round because my life is so busy. I will be doing my internship at the hospital next year, so that would possibly solve my issue.

This! My little brother is going to be 2 in august and he is not allowed to me with the cats. He once pulled the my cat's tail.
My mom says he wont be with the cats till he learns that they are not his toys.

I bet. being a kid with all that most be awful. The Truth is you never Get used to having shots. some people dont like Needles so they prefer to just go to the hospital and just have someone else do it. but for me i had no problem doing it.

Good luck with your internship! as of now im trying to get my life back to Hit the books as soon as possible.

Thanks so much! I hope you are able to get back to school soon, it certainly pays off in the long run. It has taken me a lot longer to finish my undergrad degree than I had planned, but I stuck with it even if I had to take a semester off or only take one class. I will be so happy to be free of all the studying and finally make some real money to pay for this expensive makeup buying habit of mine!

Appears to be!  I can't decide whether I want this one or not.  I was thinking about picking up Sweet and Sour and Sushi Kiss since they were just made permanent, but it seems really similar to those...almost like it might be right in between them color-wise.  Hmm...
Not even close. :nope:
