Hi, just chiming in to say that I too have had migraines since I was 18 or so. And yes, they always switch from one side to the other! My doctor said that happens but, like most things pertaining to the brain, they don't know why exactly. In the last year I've resorted to Botox injections in the sides of my forehead. It has eliminated 90% of me headaches I'm happy to say.
So weird! A former specktrette who i keep up with on FB also gets botox for hers. I don't get them enough to need botox, but so happy that the magnesium is working. I've always known that the migraine on right side causes the numbness, auras and blindness on the left, and vice versa, but the alternating migraines have always been a fascination to me. Thanks for letting me know I'm not alone!

Would the magnesium daily be good for some one who only gets migraines every once in a while but when they do it's bad enough where if they just don't lay down and sleep they feel miserable? My dad has migraines like that I use to but thankfully out grew them, weird I know but I use to get them when I was like in elementary or jr high but now only get annoying headaches every once in a while. So just wanted to see if that might be something I could recommend him because him being in the military usually they only told him to take moltrin and it doesn't really work but again because of that he hasn't really gotten professional help beyond what military doctors told him (who are good doctors but do not go through 6 years of school like normal ones do)

And i take the magnesium daily. 400mg.
Thanks for the magnesium tip! I just down caffeine like crazy and wear sunglasses inside. I assume I look crazy. I stopped migraine meds a few years ago and still hadn't figured out how to handle them now.

I started randomly getting migraines last year. Went to my optometrist to get new glasses, he asked me how my eyes had been. I told him about my migraines. First thing he did was ask me if I had changed my birth control. I got so weirded out that my eye guy was asking me about BC, but I had and he was right. Stopped taking it, and they went away. Apparently they're called cyclical migraines and they last for days. Moral of the story...I have the world's most wonderful optometrist. lol. Feel better to all the ailing ladies!
That happened to me, too. My docs were changing my birth control around trying to get rid of ovarian cysts. I started having horrible migraines. Changed to a lower dose bc pill and they mostly went away.

do any of you get 'ocular migraines'? i don't get them often, but its basically where your vision blanks out for about an hour or so. it starts small in the middle of your field of vision, and then it pulsates outward, until your whole sight is taken over. then it keeps going outward till it dissipates. it isn't like gray or anything, it's just a distortion?
i have had about 5 or 6 over the course of my life, and they are so scary.

Definitely! Apparently most people are magnesium deficient anyway, so it would be beneficial for that as well. Have him try it and see if it helps. It won't hurt if it doesn't help. Just make sure he checks to make sure there's not contraindications with any other meds he's on if he is on any.

I've been caffeine free for a couple years now. I only get minor caffeine thru chocolate and excedrin migraine. Let me know if the magnesium works!

That's the sucky thing about migraines and BC. With migraines you aren't supposed to take BC, but i have to for cysts and endometriosis. I've been on BC since i was 14, and was diagnosed with migraines the following year. I swear i have the worst luck with my health :(

At my most, I got 3-4 a week. An those lasted 24-48 untreated. They sometimes ran together. Now that I'm older and taking meds, I get 2-3 near headaches and 1-2 actual full migraines a week. Magnesium can really help. You can take it every day as a supplement, but in a larger dose it can help break it.
I'll really have to go and buy some tomorrow and start taking them. Anything to get them to go away. Mine started last year from a injury in a car accident, then added stress/ anxiety made them worse.

Let me know what the neurosurgeon says. Feel free to private message me if you want to talk more.
Yep, I've had an MRI of my lower back (where the protruding disc is pressing on my sciatic nerve as well) and my neck. My physical therapist was the one who originally thought it was probably a herniated disc, so after two months of physical therapy I got the first MRI. Last month I got one of my neck which showed stenosis. I haven't had any pain management yet, I'm figuring they might try the steroid shots after I talk with the neurosurgeon.

I'm taking oxycodone for pain but I've been on them for years so they don't really do much. I've been having these back problems since last year so honestly I'm just ready to do whatever it takes to get it fixed. So hopefully the neurosurgeon will be helpful.

And thank you! I'm glad there are people on here who have gone through it before, since I'm only 24 obviously most of my friends don't really get it.

Yes!!! Thankfully once they diagnosed it i was able to get on the pill and treat it quickly. The first pill wasn't the right hormone levels, but the second one was the right levels and I've been on them for just over 18years and haven't had any problems since.

That sucks that your pain meds aren't helping anymore. I'll bet that you're ready for a change if it's been over a year! I was going to a chiropractor for years and I kept wondering why I wasn't getting any better. I asked her about an MRI and she said "you're not that bad yet. You can still walk." I couldn't believe she said that! When I got my MRI my pain doc said "I can't believe that you're still walking, let alone going to work!" I've been on daily pain meds since 2006, but they do help. I have time-released morphine. I've also found that anti-inflammatory meds help a lot. And muscle-relaxers, as well as lots of yoga stretches. I will cross my fingers that your appointment goes well and you get some relief soon. I was 43 when it happened to me and none of my friends got it, either. I couldn't go out with them because I couldn't sit through a dinner/drinks most days. It really changes your life when you're in pain every day.

It sounds like it! I used to have migraines but once I moved away from a bad boyfriend they got much better. Until that BC incident, which was a few months after my cancer diagnosis, which was 6 months after my back surgery. That was a really crappy year. Make-up helped a little!

aww you're team no sleep too??? i was actually talking to @NaturallyUrs  about #teamnosleep. we should make it a thing, if it isn't one.
I'll join! I have the worst sleep habits.
I remember we made a team insomnia awhile back. grrrr my list just cannot stay the same with this collection! Mystical just looks too different in swatches. So im just going to skip it since I can't see in person. Was for sure getting shimmerfish nl. But realized it's a lot like my beloved soiree (which I have two bottles of). Neptune will be more unique to my nail stash. Then was going to skip the blushes but am back to wanting one. Then added two more shadows. Just doesn't stop! Lol
yes we should! I dont sleep well and yet I feel well rested. Maybe its stress who knows but it does do me well when im stalking lol
Yay Team no sleep! lol ...and I'm definitely gonna look into that magnesium. Seasonal migraines for me. :-/ ...sorry for all you ladies who had crappy years of bad health. ***HUGS***

My pics of AS! Compared to Refined Golden it looks beige. At some photos it may look rosy, but IRL I don't see any rosy undertones in it. Maybe some golden ones, but no pinkiness/rosiness.

I hope this collection goes up on Nordstrom while they still have the 15% back thru Ebates. I get the feeling that it won't though.

I know that feeling! I thought it was bad that I had it in my early 40's. I was like you, I didn't think anything like that would happen until 50's or even 60's. Did your back surgery help/fix the pain?
The surgery fixed most of the nerve damage I had, a limp I had from my injury, and my foot drop. I still get sore in my back. I have to watch what I'm doing carrying/lifting. Once in awhile I get this strange shooting pain in my foot. The pain was nothing like before surgery though Added info. The nerve damage bothered me so much that when I woke up from surgeryI kept trying to take off my sock and feel my foot with the opposite foot. I wanted to see if I could feel if the damage was gone but I was still drugged up so the nurse kept putting my sock back on. It took a few months for the nerve damage to go away.
