UH OH! You've started something here!!! I LOVE any form of freedom/expression through art and feel that one of the most immediate and obvious ways to do this is through make up! I hate to say it but I have to agree that alot of people that have STRONG views against men in make up tend to be like you said, from strong religious backgrounds, secluded from cosmopoliton areas or not really aware of cultures. I grew up in the UK, then had to move to Texas and then moved back here after awhile. In Texas there were some STRONG views and I often found that it was very hard to fit in. I think that there are people like a lot of us that think make up is fun and expressive and the more colourfull the world is the better! and then there are people with a conservative view on things and whom probably think that what a mac artist does is not to be looked at as an art or whatever.
My Dad grew up in the 80's and was a bit of a punk, he often wore black eyeliner, my mom is your typical and i don't mean this expression in an offense to anyone 'fag hag'... she loves the extravegant and flamboyant and both of them were seriously into there art stuff. I guess I just feel like pink eyeshadow is fun and not something to look down on weather it be a boy or a girl wearing it.
I can't help but feel VERY STRONGLY annoyed by people with these opinions that men in makeup is wrong. I think it shows a lack of education/lack of culture and a very shallow minded outset on life. ???
Not that I'd want my bf to start wearing my make up! I don't think I'd like to share it! LOL.
