NARS Audacious Lipstick

So I was all excited to finally get my Charlotte, the Audacious lippie I've been swooning over since they were first released, but patiently waited for a sale. It arrived today (along with the rest of my shameful stash from Sephora)...and it looks a little weird. I'm not sure if this is some sort of manufacturing defect, something caused by the change in the weather, or if it somehow got touched. Is it possible that it was touched if it was ordered online? I really need opinions on this. It's funny because the exact reason I order online instead of buying makeup in Sephora stores is because I'm so paranoid that somebody could've opened the product I'm buying and swatched it (or worse)...and now I'm debating if I should bring this back to the store tomorrow, since I'll be near one anyway, to exchange it for a new one. I'm posting 3 pictures even though they're all basically the same, but it was hard to get a good picture of the spot I'm talking about. I think you'll see it though. Really in need of opinions on this from my expert makeup buyers (basically every specktrette!). Note: You might have to click to make them bigger to see it.

It looks like a groove and where it meets the top of the lipstick, there is no smudge, which I would expect if a person had been in contact.

I've noticed with MAC lipsticks, the sides around the lippie can look smudged sometimes in certain formulas- matte especially, but I don't worry about it anymore.

I'd say ordering online would be assurance that no one has touched it.

I hate buying unsealed products off the shelf, which annoys me about Sephora too.

If you are uncomfortable, then request a new one, it is so disappointing when you buy a product and feel worried and paranoid due to some defect.

Once I bought MAC Lady Danger years ago, and the smell was odd, really super strong, and I got them to swap it for me as it was playing on my mind alot.

Thankfully, these episodes have been very rare for me.

I remember being pretty excited about the Huggables too. I'm most excitable, me. I guess it's a glitch in the system. This may have already been discussed before but what Nars did with this line is a marketing bonanza. Nars could have released these colors 3-4 shades at a time like Mac tends to do and as a LE. But what Nars did was to roll out 40 great lipsticks all with an amazing formula and made it available to ALL who wanted them. Everyone could take their time and buy what they want and when they wanted it. We all have the opportunity to go into the stores and try the shades on and not have to worry about it selling out in 10 minutes, stalking websites for hours waiting for the collection to drop. This type of Marketing Plan also allowed Nars to charge double the price of a Mac lipstick and very few people have complained because of the type,of service they have been provided. Way to go Nars. They have endeared themselves to old and new customers and shown customers that they do care about them. Okay, I will get off of my soap box.

YES but at the end of the day as a makeup lover im more buyin into the quality of the product and availability! from the moment I got into makeup Nars blushes were my first love-PERIOD!!! I started off greedy (not to say I dnt like drugstore) but I've just grown accustomed to good shyt

MAC is eeeeeh ok I honestly collect their lippies cuz its cheaper than what I can afford at that time. LETS BE REAL by the time u BU an LE mac lippie (which 9 1/2 out of 10 is a dupe or will eventually be repromoted or perm) u could've paid the same price for ONE nars lippie that u dnt have to stalk and can take ur time to test out n try to see if you'll like it. I got 3 NARS lippies on my radar: Dominique, Vera and Fanny/Janet (still trying to decide which one) but im LOVING the fact I dnt have to pass on groceries to get em NOW n can take my time to pick n choose which works for me!! These are DEFINITELY worth the price tag!

Lol..I agree! The Audacious quality is amazing. Because they're perm, we can take our time and spread them out over separate paychecks. I got a few of them this time due to the sale though.
Also, I couldn't decide between Fanny/Janet neither so I got them both...oy I really just couldn't decide on which one lol

Anna caught my eye as well but it is very close to an Urban Decay shade I already have. I'm very happy with my selections. They both seem to be good everyday colors and for what they cost, I want to get the most out of my money.
