I posted this in another thread but I feel compelled to post it in this thread because we all make so many purchases from Sephora. PSA!!  :santa2: Ladies, tis the season---to watch your bank accounts and credit cards.  Someone helped themselves to items from Sephora, on my dime. I spent the better part of the morning on the phone with my bank, canceling cards and getting new ones. I thought about the massive systems problems we experienced w/Sephora during the sales, and I have to believe they are as hackable as any other  merchant.
That's awful! I just ordered from them, kind of scared now.

Do you guys think using a pressed powder, followed by a setting powder is overkill? If you did that combo would you bother with a finising/beauty powder?

I bought it last week.  It didn't ship until this week and I haven't been able to pick it up yet.  It will be Saturday before I get it but can't wait to try it out! Sorry that happened to you Meddy.  I've had a few accounts (1 corporate) hacked in the last year or so.  Luckily, each card issuer has always notified me right away and they were small 'tester' charges - except for my corporate account - some 'charity' tried to put through a few huge charges.
Thanks Yazmin!!!  The thieves are pretty diligent!!!  I'm assuming that was a bogus charity!!!:eek:hboy:
Yep. The dead giveaway was four attempted charges for the exact same amount. I was about to head out for an event when I got the call. Nipped that ish in the bud right quick!
I think Im the only person in this world that never set her makeup :sigh:
I don't always remember to do it and I'm pretty certain there was a time that I never did.:haha:
I always set, but never 'finish'.

For me personally, doing both is overkill, so I prefer to set.

A friend of mine just pointed this out on Ebay... I guess everyone's looking for quick cash especially during the holiday season.

Ugh that is so desperate jeez! With people emptying shelves of LE products to sell on Ebay, and now THIS I can see why stores would be tempted to scale back the promos.

Oh don't be. The issue may not be related to Sephora. I order from many stores and it could have
originated with a dishonest person in any one of those. The best defense is to check your accounts daily.

I'm open to suggestions from drugstore to high end. I just want to find something that will make me look immaculate LOL
I got the NARS Light Reflecting Loose Powder and it really does have a blurring effect. I bought the loose powder and then pressed some of it myself w/ alcohol and an old compact so I have a pressed for the purse and loose for home. It'll also save you money and you'll get a bit more product. I recently have been having trouble with oil but unfortuately this doesn't absorb oil much. I'll maybe last an hour before feeling oily again.I can say that it layers beautifully. It hasn't looked cakey at all even after 3-4 layers throughout the day. Also no white cast if your knocking the excess off correctly so it's BGF. If your skin is oily you'll need a good matte primer because the powder isn't for oil control in my opinion.

For the coupon I got the UD Full Frontal Lip Stash $39 and the Tarte Tinted Brow Gel in Rich Brown $21. But first and foremost onto my baby the UD Lip Stash. It is online only and I looked at it for so long and honestly thought it would sell out before I decided to get it. I love these lipsticks and I don't have anything like them (and I have a lot of lipstick)! I really only wanted this set for Ladyflower but when I got it I loveeeed Crush! It makes my lips look sooo juicy
girlhaha.gif
Everyone needs this. Every color is BGF and I can even get away with wearing them without a lipliner if I sheer out the edges. I can't comment on the reds though because I don't wear red lipstick. BeautyandtheBrush86 sold me on it so definitely check out her review! http://youtu.be/3cPDBe08wbc UD has been on point lately so much so that I've bought three of their palettes this year (VICE 3 which I use literally everyday now, Rollergirl, and Electric) and I even used up 500 rewards pts to get that eyeshadow quad they had at Sephora. FYI I hoard my points. Also I love the box. It is pretty, sturdy, and it has a very firm foam insert that protects your lipsticks. The silver bullet overs are so chic they look like chrome. If you're debating this set I really recommend just jumping the gun and buying it. I would also say that these are slightly moisturizing. 5/5 10/10 100/100!!!!! lol

Now onto my Tarte review :/ I'm telling you guys now if you think rich brown is gonna be dark I promise it's not dark at all. Really wish I would've skipped it but I had to add something to my order. I'm debating whether or not to return it or sell it since I technically got it for a dollar. I want to sell it but idk how to do shipping and all that through the clearance bin/paypal so if anyone knows anything about selling and shipping rates please PM me.

Pretty, I believe any type of powder can be pressed, be it setting or beauty. I think it's about the function and/or what the powder is designed to do. I don't use much of
either, but the effects and differences are noticeable to me. Powder, period makes your products last longer. I have done both but in very small amounts.

I have finished w/o setting and experienced a bit of oiliness. I think that was a function of the product that I used and nothing else.

Ok so can I only use my card twice if I order online and go to a jcpenny sephora or can I order online and then go in store to a regular sephora? I think I only have a normal sephora near me.

I think it really depends on your skin type. I know for my mostly dry skin, if I pair a dewey foundation with just a translucent finishing powder it works fine for me. Someone who is more oily may want something that adheres to the skin a bit better with a matte coverage. What I've done for people in the past is if they're oily, I do their foundation, use a setting powder then Fix+ spray. Throughout the night they can touch up with a translucent finishing powder and it keeps things in place fairly well from what I've seen.

TLDR; It's all about your skin and what it needs!

I got a foundation during the vibr sale. But the shade isn't right. So if I go and exchange it for the right shade how will it work? Will they honor the 20% and make it an equal exchange or will I have to pay the difference when the is discount is taken off??? Thanks

IIRC, if it's the same product, but a different shade, it should be an equal exchange. But if there's a price difference, the discount will not be honored on the new product, and you'll have to pay the difference between the discount amount you paid, and the cost of the new product.

Equal exchange if same product!

You can.

Someone can correct me if I am wrong but I believe that if they use it online with their account -- the points will be attached to their account.

If they use it in store -- ( at least at JC Penney but I think regular Sephora too ) -- the Sephora points will go on YOUR account.

U definitely can give it to someone else, my mom gave hers away and it worked so no worries on that.
I don't think the points will go to the original gift card holder tho, they go to whoever gives their BI/VIB/R card at the store.
