I feel like we need to form some kind of coalition and vow not to buy from eBay. Put them out of business... (the makeup sharks, not all of eBay lol) I mean you never even know for certain if you're getting a fake. I spend so much time investigating the seller and then investigating the product when it gets here, and I'm STILL suspicious. Not to mention I'm putting more money in the pocket of the person who caused the shortage in the first place. There needs to be a rule about how many products each individual person can buy. I mean one or two backups? That's fine, that makes sense with LE stuff. But these ebay people are buying like 60 and turning a 200% profit an HOUR after the online release!  Not to mention how many times I've bought something and it was SO not what I ordered, or I turned out to hate it, or I have to pay double-shipping to get the right size. If I order a medium it turns out I'm a small, if I order a small it turns out I'm a medium, if I order a "high gloss" boot it turns out they meant tall, not high, and it goes over my knees...  Oh and how much money I waste when I can use paypal and it's like I didn't even open my wallet so I don't feel like I'm really spending it! And I don't have to feel sheepish and justify it to the person at the checkout!  BUT.... I live in Minnesota and there are just so many awesome products we can't get here :( So I can justify SOME of it.
. If I miss something I just get a dupe. I can't do eBay and spend more. There's no way. I'll just wait for the next thing. I don't even wear all of what I have anyway. I missed Pleasure Bomb and though I've been pissed still to this day, I can't pay $75 or even $30. It's the principle. To spend $75 on a lipstick and I have 2 young kids makes no sense to me. Those eBay sharks disgust me.

If I miss something, I'll buy a high end product that's similar. If I spend $30 on a Marc Jacobs lipstick, that's retail and I'm supporting a designer. I'd rather do that compared to putting it into a MAC machine that feeds off the limited supply and buy a $17.50 lipstick at $30 for all that eBay markup.

Honestly this year has really put me into this mindset of 'its out of control.' I almost missed out on MM and Philip Treacy because I wanted to stay away from the crazy town of the last few micro-releases. Thankfully, those releases were more sane, I was able to log in and get a few things without missing any sleep.

I do the same, I'd rather spend more on something from an honest seller than feed the beast and risk getting a fake. It's like the situation just keeps getting worse instead of better. After that one Rihanna collection a few years back I thought they were going to try to fix the issue, but it's turned into its own industry! And I buy way fewer of macs permanent products because I have to save my money for these special releases.
